Dungeons & Dragons has been around for seemingly forever. Well, for most of us reading this, it essentially has. It’s been around longer than I have, anyway. The first edition of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Players Handbook came out in 1978. For those of you that missed out on getting a copy (or if your copy has since disintegrated from use), you can now get the 1st edition of the Players Handbook for AD&D in pdf format.

This version is complete with races such as Elves, Gnomes, Half-Orcs, Humans, and more. There’s all the character level stats. Along with that are stats and costs for all sorts of equipment. Finally, there’s spell lists with the descriptions and the spell’s effects.

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

Good times – my first real RPG book and a classic at that.

And I still use it…to this day!

Despite it’s flaws I have had more fun with this edition than any other.
