Wings of Glory in stores March 19

Ares Games announces that their starter sets for Wings of Glory WWII will be available in stores across the US and Canada on March 19th! Tell your wonderful LGS owner to order some for you now!

From the announcement:

The Wings of Glory WW2 Starter Set is a complete game that includes everything needed to start playing the WW2 version of the system in few minutes. It features four airplanes – a P-40 Warhawk, a Yakovlev Yak-1, a Kawasaky Ki-61 and a Reggiane Re.2001 – with the maneuver decks, as well a rulebook including Basic, Standard and Advanced Rules, Optional Rules, and Scenarios. A full assortment of counters, tokens, rulers, and airplane console boards complete the set, which can be expanded with additional WW2 Airplane Packs to allow for larger battles with different airplanes.

      It’s absolutely fantastic! I will admit to liking the WW1 version more, but have every single release for both wars, and intend to keep getting these.

        Love the game, but not really thrilled with the planes in this deluxe set. All seem to be less popular airframes… and no US nor German planes… maybe the point is to try to entice people to try them? Won’t convince me…

        Soulfinger — another limitation (at least of the predecessor game) is that they felt the system couldn’t accommodate the faster late war planes, so thus far only early- and mid-war aircraft are covered.

          A Curtis P-40 isn’t American?

          I’m psyched that the units they’re releasing are not the usual ‘variations on american or mainline German aircraft.’ I hear your point regarding the faster airplanes, which I suppose explains the lack of Mosquitos, Fw-190, etc

          But I’m still psyched. 😉

            Yeah, my mistake — i thought it was a lend-lease plane to another nation, as the colors didn’t look American (appears to be green and orange circles)
