TGN Unboxing: Terminator Genisys: The War Against The Machines Box Set (Updated)

No fate…
Unless you roll it, anyway. Hey everyone. Here at the TGN office, we got ourselves a copy of the new Terminator: Genisys game created by River Horse and distributed by Warlord Games. We put together a little video showing off what you get in the War Against the Machines starter set. Check it out below the cut.
There’s also a contest where you can win your own copy of the game (still sealed up and everything).

As for the contest, it’s pretty simple: Just reply with your favorite movie from the Terminator franchise (the correct answer is Terminator 2 πŸ˜‰ ).

We will pick a winner and announce the results on Friday.

Update:Β That’s all folks! The names have been entered into our high-tech name picker machine and (drum roll) crann777 is our winner! Thank you all for entering and checking out the video!

My favourite Terminator movie has to be the original Terminator. Although Terminator 2 is more action packed I like the more desperate feeling of the first movie. I also liked the chemistry between Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn a lot.

  • Habbaku

    Terminator 2, of course. πŸ˜‰

  • Matt Wood

T2 is too stronq. I think Salvation is dope. I’ll fight anyone. I’m really excited for the new movie actually. I think it looks pretty..darn..exciting. They spelled Gynysys(y) wrong though.

    • Matt Wood

That is to say, Judgement Day is my favorite. I just wanted to start a fight.

      • TGN_Jared

Always looking to start something, Matt. πŸ™‚

  • Erick Araiza

The Original is the best. Way ahead of her time

  • Uwe Schumacher

The Terminator. It has an edgier feel (maybe because of the smaller budget), it has great actors in supportng roles (Paul Winflied, Lance Henricksen) and quotes that became classics without being specifically written as memorable one-liners (“I’ll be back”). Also, it is going to be the last chance we get to see Arnie in a villain role. So – except for the special effects -Terminator beats T2 in every aspect.

  • Adam

T2 is clearly the best movie, although the Terminator TV series was surprisingly good before it was canceled.

    • TGN_Jared

This is the second time in a week someone told me the TV series was actually pretty good. Never saw it my self, but I’m thinking about tracking it down.

  • Kyle Santoni

Terminator 2, just probably the most timeless action flicks of all time. T1 is still fantastic too for it’s gritty 80s feel and that soundtrack.

  • Neil Egerton

The original Terminator for me, is the best

  • Joe Harter

T2 Judgement Day hands down best. I did really enjoy Terminator Salvation also, my guilty pleasure.

  • Patrick Yarbrough

Has to be the original Terminator for me. Saw it as a kid when it first came out and I’ve loved it ever since. That’s where it all started.

  • Terminator 2. Genisys might beat it, but the jury is out on that until I actually see it for myself.

  • Bishop

There is only one competition here, and it’s not which Terminator movie is the best….

Terminator 2 is the clear winner.

  • Dan Yen

Terminator 2 was the first of the series I saw when I was a kid, so I’m going with that one.

  • gstopcow

Terminator original is the best. That whole bad guy turned buddy is waaay too overplayed…

  • estrus

How is this even a legitimate question?? Terminator was just a setup for the immortal T2!

  • Sam Wood

    Terminator 2

  • agent_aubergine

I would love to have been able to see Salvation with the original ending, or a film adaptation of Terminator: 1984, but T2 was okay too I guess.

  • Ian Foster

T2. The visual and special effects even to this day are outstanding. How they achieved them back then is mindblowing.
I loved the sound of the Harvester in Salvation at the cinema. My subwoofer at home does not do it justice.

  • Smingles

Always Terminator 2. It’s a fantastic film I always enjoy watching

  • Donald McCalmon

Favorite Terminator movie, too many choices….I guess I’d have to say the original Terminator, it was gritty and awesome, and the SFx were cutting edge at the time.

  • xGIxJOKERx

The obvious answer is T2. It’s right up there with Aliens as the all time great action films.

  • Terminator 2. Thanks to it we have the great quote “I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle…”

  • Ghool

I always liked Terminator, as Arnie’s accent was thicker. Thus, it made all the one-liners better.
The best is still, ‘I’ll be back.’

  • Lyus

All of them. True that the 2nd is the best, but each and every one of them are unique. The first was groundbreaking, the second is a classic, the third was (disappointing) but fresh and it spawn the best terminator game (redemption), the fourth, forget the rest, first appearance of digital arnie blows my mind…
    Can’t wait for Genisys.

  • Matthew Wilkinson

Terminator 2 def. But I do have a soft spot for T1.

  • Adam Hayes

Hands down it has to be T2. Elements of other movies have been good but T2 is the full package.

  • crann777

Terminator 2, although I was also a fan of The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

    • TGN_Jared

Congratulations, you won! We’ve sent you an email requesting some info.

  • Chris Baginski

    Terminator πŸ™‚

  • Mananarepublic

I am going to say The Terminator – Arnold as the bad guy was soo cool at the time!
