TGN Saturday Edition: Review Roundup
Another Saturday night (well, afternoon) and I ain’t got nobody (well, I’m hanging out with my gaming group). I got some money ’cause I just got paid (well, earlier in the week, yeah). Oh how I wish I had someone to talk to (well… again, with my gaming group, so I’m talking with them). I’m in an awful way (I’m starting to think this song wasn’t the best choice to use in this opening, since I’m doing just fine right now, but I’ve typed this much, I’m going to stick with it).
Time once more for a Review Roundup. Here’s the game/product reviews/previews/unboxings we found in the last week.
Items include: DreadBall Hobgoblin Unboxing, King of New York, the Melee expansion for Chaostle, Five Tribes, and Last Will and it’s Get Stacked expansion.
Luke unpacks the contents of the smelliest DreadBall team yet!! The Hobgoblins
Play Board Games:
King of New York is the follow up to the now classic King of Tokyo. It has the familiar monster bashing, king of the hill theme but now the board really matters.
The Melee expansion for Chaostle adds new characters, magic and summons cards and solitaire play.
Board Game Quest:
Five Tribes is being touted as Days of Wonder’s first “gamer’s game.” They have teamed up with Bruno Cathala; designer of Cyclades, Mr. Jack, Abyss, and many others. The result of this sort of Dream Team is a well designed, easy to play, hard to master, strategy game.
Five Tribes is a game for 2-4 players and plays in about 60 minutes. Five Tribes plays best with any number of players.
Shut Up & Sit Down:
This week, Matt and Quinns peek into the paperwork of Last Will, a game that challenges you to declare bankruptcy faster than your friends. A game of champagne, boat cruises, fabulous mansions, horses and you in the middle, just trying to get rid of it all.
But wait! There’s more! We’ve also played the expansion Last Will: Getting Sacked, which sees you having to do away with that beastly job of yours that insists on paying you every turn. A fabulously expensive marriage might be just the thing.
