Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Board Game Launches On Kickstarter

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Heroes in a half-shell.
Yeah… if you’re anywhere near my age, you only read those couple lines a certain way, and I’m sure the theme song to that cartoon series is in your head now. Well, it should be, because the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past board game is up on Kickstarter now.

As one would expect, the game pits the titular turtles and their allies against the Foot Clan and anyone else who looks to do the turtles harm. The game is story-based and scenario-driven, with players picking which side they want to fight for. The game also uses a new combat system. Each character gets a special set of custom dice and various moves that they can do. When it’s time to attack, everyone rolls their dice and they can then strategically pick and choose which dice they want to use where and when. As for the villains, they operate based on a deck that’s created using cards representing which criminal elements they have access to.

The campaign is underway now and is about 3/5 the way to funded. It’s set to run for another 22 days.

No rules, no gameplay video, they should have waited until they had those, pass until I know more.

Plus, it’s a Kevin Wilson design, so it does have that going for it. So far everything looks pretty solid to me.

  • Too expensive. I’ll wait til it comes out retail and then decide.
