Well, the world's come to an end again. Damnit, Todd, I told you that "the nuclear option" didn't mean just launching all the missiles and hoping for the best. Now we've got to find ways to survive in this post-apocalyptic wasteland. Thankfully, we used to play a bunch of Wreck Age, so we're well-prepared. And with those updates in the 2nd edition, it'll be that much easier.
If you'd like to be like me and Todd, super-prepared for the end of civilization, I suggest you get a hold of the new 2nd Edition of Wreck Age, which is available now.
Occasionally, games can use a bit of a revamp. There's nothing wrong with it. Years of the game can show parts where there's room for improvement. Or maybe some new expansions weren't working out the way they were originally intended. Or the game can just feel a bit dated. Whatever the reason, a new edition is put into the works. Well, Hyacinth Games has been looking over Wreck-Age and figured it's time for a new edition. They're going to be sending out previews of the rules that you can sign up for as well.
The folks over at Hyacinth Games had their successful Kickstarter not too long ago. Well, they've gotten their backer's minis shipped out, and so now it's time for the rest of us to get in on the action. You can head over to their webshop now and pick them up.
Friday is once again upon us. Gateway to the weekend. So many possibilities. I'm as busy as a one-armed paper hanger. Making all sorts of things in prep for tomorrow's MST3K binge party. I hate to go to a gathering empty-handed, so I'm making brownies, cookies, and prepping stuff so I can make nachos and Swedish meatballs while there. Like I said, hate to be empty-handed. But while I'm making those bite-sized treats, let's nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Two New Tank Turrets Available From Ramshackle Games, Tor Gaming Announces Their Affiliate Program, Circle of Blood from Last Bullet Games Coming To Kickstarter, Path of Light and Shadow Coming To Kickstarter, Final Days for Wreck Age Kickstarter, and Fluff Preview Posted For The Drowned Earth.

When a lot of people think "post-apocalyptic," one of the things that'll pop into their mind is Mad Max. And what's Mad Max without all those awesome vehicles? Well, Hyacinth Games' Wreck-Age game also takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, and they're looking to inject a bit of high-octane to it with their Vehicles Kickstarter campaign, running now (on all 8 cylinders).
Well, quite a week we're having, aren't we? But that's what happens during big shows like GAMA. I'm sure all the surprises aren't finished, either. Well, if we're going to be hitting F5 on all our gaming sites, hoping for the latest updates, we'll need to stay energized. We can do that by noshing on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Bog’s Minis Releasing Mushroom Men Miniatures on Kickstarter, Koti Games To Launch Badass Riders Kickstarter, Aletta 90mm Mini Available From Brother Vinni, New Releases Available From Hitech Miniatures, Free postage on order over £50 until Sunday From Victrix, Hyacinth Games' Kickstarter Coming In 2 days, New Round Base Skirmish Trays Available From Kromlech, 25mm Dirty Old Town Bases Now Available From Tabletop-Art, Orc and Goblin Minis Up On Kickstarter, and Wu Wei Launches on Kickstarter Next Week.

*drags myself to the next post, clawing at the ground as I go*
This has been some week. New office. Bunch of visitors the the office. And with GAMA next week, I've had several late nights working on (redacted). But, yesterday I got to watch the preview video for (redacted). So that was cool. But yeah, I'll be very happy when that show happens and all the announcements are made. With all that going on, stocking up on some bite-size gaming stories is simply a necessity. So let's get to it.

Today on the platter we have: Khurasan releases modern alien invasion range, March Updates from Advanced Deployment: Dice Towers and Freebies, Ultra Clear XCase: Expandable Transportable Display Case On Kickstarter, The Children of the Sands Sci-Fi Minis On Kickstarter, New Storm Cannon Platform Available From Kromlech, Wreck Age Vehicles Kickstarter Launching March 17th, Brigade Models - New 15mm Neo-Soviet SF Tanks, and Two More Weapons Platforms Released by Kromlech.

Well, Monday was quite a whirlwind of news. It was quite a thing to keep up with all of it. I'm sure it'll all be talked about for quite some time. So you can expect many podcasts to have those as topics. Well, we've got our podcast roundup today. There's some Gamer Goggles vidcasts in here, too.

This time around we have: Primecast Episode 30, Game Classy 111: Games We Hate, Through Gamer Goggles Wreck-Age Demo From Adepticon, Through Gamer Goggles Words with Hyacinth Games, Through Gamer Goggles Words With Ronnie Renton, Through Gamer Goggles Words With Steamforged Games, Through Gamer Goggles Demo This is Not a Test From Adepticon, Epic Gaming Night Ep 50 Guest Exstraganza!, Meeples & Miniatures – Episode 168 – Bad Squiddo Games: Women of the Red Army, Man Battlestations Podcast Episode 5, and News of the North – 2016-04-12.

Man! Today sure has been busy! I've gotten a bunch of photos taken. I've talked to a lot of really cool people. I've gotten a demo of a brand new game (demo report forthcoming). And I've had Portillo's. Can't get any better than that, really. So if you've not been following the coverage over on the TGN Facebook Page, here's what you've been missing:
Some might claim that Los Angeles is already a post-apocalyptic wasteland. I say that Ross "The Legend" Thompson lives there now, so it can't be all bad, really. But what would potentially happen to the city if a great earthquake were to flood most of it? What would become of all those great estates and all of Hollywood? Well, you can find out in Shangri LA (get it?), the new sourcebook for Wreck Age that's up on Kickstarter now.
Hyacinth Games is running a Scenario Contest over in their game forums for Wreck-Age. Simply come up with a scenario for their game, or conversely, you can come up with a scenario for an RPG that's set in the Wreck-Age universe, and post it up. All participants will get a $10 voucher for the Hyacinth Games webshop. Participants will have their scenario posted and the community will vote on the winners.

From the announcement:
Hyacinth Games is steadily expanding their Wreck-Age catalog. One of their more-recent sets are the Reclaimers. These post-apocalyptic scavengers make their way to your tabletop in their army box set.

Wreck Age

Hyacinth’s Matthew was kind enough to give me a box to look over and tell you what I think on the subject.

So strap on your gas mask and power on your bionic eye, it’s time for another TGN Review. This time it’s the Reclaimers Box Set for Wreck-Age.
Gamers on Games has posted episode 96.5 of their vidcast up online for your watching pleasure.

Krazy Ivan takes a look at Wreck Age from Hyachinth Games and gives you their thoughts on the subject.

From the review:

Wreck Age is a hybrid RPG and table top war game set on a post apocalyptic version of Earth. Facing an ecological cataclysm the rich and powerful gathered themselves up into a fleet of ship and left Earth to colonize new worlds. Those who were not part of the privileged class were left behind to die.

Hyacinth Games now has their Wreck-Age core rulebook available electronically over in their webshop.

From the announcement:

~26th century Earth —a hard place to live.

Two hundred years ago, the worlds’ rich and powerful left the planet in a mass Exodus. However, this grand plan didn’t include everyone, and society collapsed in their wake. Now, for the first time in centuries, those left behind take their first baby steps from the culling of previous generations. There’s finally hope to put an end to the death and destruction. Crops are starting to grow and populations are booming. Various factions vie for power and resources. There are valuable troves out in the Wilds for those willing to take the risks to search for them.

Welcome to the Wreck Age.

Hyacinth Games has started taking down names of those of you gamers out there that would like to get their Core Rules and Reclaimers box set as soon as they're made available.
For a look at the quality if their minis, in case you missed it, you can see the TGN Review of their Drifters box set here.

From the announcement:

Hello all,

We at Hyacinth are very excited to announce that we (finally) feel close enough to completion to start taking preorders for the soft cover, as well as our Reclaimers box set this Friday November 1st. The softcover is going to be set at $18 for pre-orders, but the price may go up slightly after the fact depending on printing costs for people who purchase it after it is released in December.

Kickstarter pledges for the hardcover will be receiving the softcover with a voucher for the hardcover upon release, so yes, you get both!

Wreck-Age, by Hyacinth Games, is a post-apocalyptic skirmish game. Human civilization has collapsed and those that remain must struggle against the elements to survive in any way they can. Players take control of a small group of humans who must eke out a living.

Hyacinth was kind enough to send me a box set of Drifters and wanted me to give you their thoughts on the subject.

So grab your goggles, hockey mask, razor-sharp boomerang and shoulder pads, 'cause here we go...

Hyacinth Games now has Wreck-Age starters available over in their webshop, the culmination of a successful Kickstarter project (I do enjoy adding those notes to posts).

From the release:

Thanks to all of our awesome KS pledges, we are happy to announce the Stakers box set has arrived. Anyone who selected that option as their pledge will be receiving it (and their goodies) this or next week, depending on shipping.

For other interested parties, the set includes 7 of our true scale 28mm minis for only $50! This set also includes the box set only Pitchfork Farmhand. It is exciting to get these bad boys out since we feel they are a pretty good deal compared to our standard blister packs.

Wreck Age has two new models available over in their webstore. Check out the Staker Outriders.

From the announcement:

New product in the web store, gearing up for the promo that starts tomorrow!

Wreck-Age posted up a new green for the Stitcher.

Hand Cannon Online branches out a bit to show they don't just do Privateer Press coverage with a look at Hyacinth Games' Wreck-Age minis.

From the review:

Our friends over at Hyacinth Games have sent us some minis from their new line. If you aren’t familiar with their work they have a game called Wreck-Age which will be a community building table-top skirmish game with a companion cooperative role playing game to be released in late 2012.

Hyacinth Games topped $10k and has some new stretch goals with still 3 days left in the campaign.

From the announcement:

Now that Wreck Age's Kickstarter has hit $10k, there are three stacking rewards for each hardcover rule book and box set pledged for- A blister of pack dogs (3 to a blister), a blister with a Staker mini and a blister with a Drifter mini. At $12.5K a bonus Reclaimer mini is added to the mix!

Wreck Age has 4 days left on their Kickstarter and wanted to preview one of the model greens they're working on for the project, the Beast Handler.

From the announcement:

Right when the Wreck Age Kickstarter is nearing the Drifter Bonus Mini stretch goal we are pleased to announce The Beast Handler! He goes pretty well with the pack dogs, which are an already activated stretch goal.

Wreck Age has started a multi-part Kickstarter to help fund the many projects they're working on.

From the campaign:

This kickstarter is to help us raise funds for the 2013 launch of our RPG, and tabletop game. Help us hit the (barren) ground running!
