New Celestial Minis and Terrain Pieces Coming from WizKids

A lot of people were excited to see the unpainted line of figures coming from WizKids. Well, they’ve heard you and are thus going to be expanding the line. And, once more, they’ve heard you. They took all the suggestions you sent in after the initial release, distilled them down, and are going to be coming out with them. They’ve also planned a set of terrain features that will be in the packs to help add some 3D to your gaming maps.

The knights at Camelot were considered the best in all the land. They were the bravest, most loyal, most cunning, and the greatest warriors around. But who among them was the best? Only one way to find out! Tournament! And that’s just what you’ll be doing in Tournament at Camelot, available now from WizKids.

WizKids Announces D&D Icons of the Realms Epic Level Starter

Role playing characters level up (unless they get killed off or your group can never manage to get together for a game). It’s sort of what they do. They gain new abilities and gear. Things change. So why shouldn’t your miniatures? WizKids has announced their D&D Icons of the Realms Epic Level Starter set. It takes the figures from the regular Icons of the Realms starter set and, well, levels them up.

WizKids Announces Defenders Team Pack For Dice Masters

Well, we’ve got the Avengers/Defenders War set coming for HeroClix. Might as well have some Defenders show up in Dice Masters, too, eh? WizKids has announced that they’ll be coming out with a Defender’s Team Pack for the game, including such heroes as The Hulk, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.

WizKids Previews Captain America For HeroClix

One of the bigger announcements in comic books in the past year or so was the revelation that Captain America had always been a deep-cover Hydra agent this whole time.
Spoilers: it’s not that they retconned all of Steve’s backstory from the beginning. It’s that Red Skull is having some fun with the Cosmic Cube and time travel. But it certainly did shake things up. Well, the “secretly a Hydra agent this whole time” version of Cap is headed to HeroClix in the Avengers/Defenders War set.

WizKids Previews Dr. Strange For HeroClix

In the upcoming Avengers/Defenders War set for HeroClix, some of the heroes are listed as “title characters.” They have special abilities tied to them called… well, “title character abilities.” This allows them to gain and spend Plot Points in order to do special things on the board. Dr. Strange is one such character coming in the set.

WizKids Previews Gladiator For HeroClix

Ah, comic books. You gotta love ’em. You can have a super villain who has titanium table saw blades strapped to the back of some gloves. Because why the hell not? This time around in their previews of the Avengers/Defenders War set for HeroClix, WizKids takes a look at Gladiator.

WizKids Previews Batroc For HeroClix

WizKids continues their look at the upcoming Avengers/Defenders War set for HeroClix with a peek at Batroc. A master of martial arts, Batroc can get pretty much where you need him on the map, having a bunch of different movement abilities. That way, you can apply his Karate chops right where you want them.

WizKids Announces DiceBot MegaFun Card and Dice Game

You know, just the other day, we had Super Happy Sentai Hour. Now we’ve got DiceBot MegaFun. You know, the world can sometimes seem very dark and depressing, but leave it to games to help try and lift our spirits. Anyway, enough waxing poetic. WizKids is bringing you DiceBot MegaFun, their new cards and dice game where you control robot gladiators that you customize with all manner of weaponry.

Pathfinder Battles: Crown of Fangs Coming Next Month

If you keep your teeth nice and sparkly-clean, maybe yours, too, can be added to the Crown of Fangs.
Ok, maybe that doesn’t sound like something you should really aspire to. But nonetheless, Crown of Fangs is coming. It’s a new Pathfinder Battles set from WizKids, and they’ve got a special case incentive deal going on for it, too.

WizKids Previews Groot For HeroClix

I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot.
I guess I could leave it at that and claim that’s all the proper words for letting you know about this preview, but that wouldn’t really be right. Anyway, since there’s a new Guardians of the Galaxy set coming for HeroClix, they’d be remiss if they left out everyone’s favorite talking (kinda) treeman.

WizKids Renews Star Trek License, Announces Future Releases

WizKids is happy to announce that they’ve re-signed their licensing deal with CBS for Star Trek. Considering how big a property Star Trek is, that’s newsworthy in and of itself. But they’ve also posted up a list of new products they’re going to be coming out with that license. They include more Attack Wing sets, a new Star Trek Tactics set, HeroClix figures, and even unpainted ships.

WizKids Previews Ant-Man For HeroClix

Just think what you could do if you had the power of the mighty ant!
… Ok, it doesn’t initially sound so awesome, but if you know about Ant-Man, you know it’s really not so bad. He’s making his way back to your HeroClix tables in the upcoming Avengers/Defenders War set. Have yourself a look-see.

WizKids Previews The Porcupine For HeroClix

Comics are filled with all sorts of colorful characters. The Porcupine is certainly among them. Looking at the costume, he’s giving me a sort of “Ultimate Warrior” vibe, but without the face paint. Anyway, the villain is coming to your HeroClix games in the Avengers/Defenders War set, but you can get a look at him here.

WizKids Announces Tournament at Camelot Card Game

Ah, Camelot.
It might be a silly place (where you sing from the diaphragm a lot), but it’s still full of wonders and spectacle. One such spectacle takes the form of tournaments, where knights look to show their prowess in combat against one-another. But, seeing as Merlin is never far away, there’s certainly magic afoot during the events. Participants will have to learn to use it to the best of their abilities, along with more traditional fighting implements such as swords and arrows, if they want to win.
That’s the story behind Tournament at Camelot, a new card game coming soon from WizKids

WizKids Previews Rocket Raccoon For HeroClix

When you think of the Guardians of the Galaxy, I’m willing to say it’s a pretty safe bet that you’re thinking of Groot and Rocket Raccoon. While Star Lord may be the leader, and Drax and Gamora certainly have their parts to play, the dynamic duo of a talking (kind of) tree and murderous raccoon are what I, at least, think of when I think of the group. Well, with the new movie coming out, there’s going to be new versions of those characters. In this preview, we get a look at what Rocket Raccoon is going to be like.

And we’ve come to another Saturday. Ah, the possibilities for today. I’m sure a lot of you are spending it at Adepticon. Me? I’ve picked up a bunch of snacks and some drinks and am going to watch some MST3K on Netflix. Because I’m cool like that. 😉

WizKids Announces Tower of London Board Game

What? You need a Beefeater? I’ll eat all the beef you’ve got! *omnomnomnom* … What do you mean, “it might be poisoned”!?!
WizKids has announced a new board game called Tower of London. Players are looking to control areas of this legendary building, moving their Beefeaters around to different rooms. They are also looking to capture ravens. The player with the Tower under their control after 3 rounds, or the first one to collect 7 ravens, wins.

WizKids Previews Yondu For HeroClix

The Guardians of the Galaxy certainly does have some interesting-looking characters they interact with. One of them is the space pirate, Yondu. I mean, he’s got an arrow that he can control… psychically? Magically? I don’t honestly know. But you don’t want to get hit by it, that’s for sure. He’s making his way to your tabletops in HeroClix, and you can get a look at what he’s capable of in this preview.

Pathfinder Battles Unpainted Minis Now Available

Some of us love to paint. Some of us don’t. Personally, I fall into the “don’t” category, but I certainly can understand why others do enjoy it. For those that want to have your own RPG minis in the colors you want, you can now pick up the Pathfinder Battles Deep Cuts minis. They’re unpainted, sort of like Reaper’s Bones minis.

WizKids Previews Star-Lord For HeroClix

The Guardians of the Galaxy are making their way back to the silver screen. They’re also going to be making their way back to your tabletops. WizKids is coming out with a Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 set for HeroClix. We’ve seen Drax. Let’s take a look at Star-Lord. *dance-off*

WizKids Previews Drax For HeroClix

Somedecade I need to go see the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I’ve heard it’s good. I’m just really lazy when it comes to that sort of thing. Well, apparently, a new one’s coming out soon. To tie-in with it, WizKids is releasing a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set for HeroClix. We get our first look inside of it with a preview of Drax.

The Banishing Card Game Now Available From WizKids

Just when you thought you were going to have a nice, relaxing weekend, a portal has opened and now hordes of undead are pouring through. I mean, really now. Well, if you’re going to salvage your weekend camping trip, you’d best deal with that. You and your other magic-inclined friends must work together in order to force back the undead and close up the portal. That’s the story behind The Banishing (though without the weekend camping trip part), which is available now from WizKids.

Review Roundup

Hello, Saturday!
It… was quite a week, I have to say. Very busy. With all the goings-on for GAMA, I almost forgot that PAX East was going on. Hope everyone is having a good time out there. I’m, obviously, not there. I will be at Adepticon in a couple weeks, though. That’ll be fun. Love going back to Chicago (my homeland). But that’s a bit away. In the meantime, let’s get you the reviews you so desperately desire.

Today we have: Inis, Dungeons of Infinity, War of the Ring: Anniversary Edition, Warhammer Quest: Shadows Over Hammerhal, Fidelitas, JrassAttack, Wok on Fire, Avalance at Yeti Mountain, Citadels, Council of Blackthorn, Escape from Colditz, Stratos, Adrenaline, Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition, Flag Dash, Snowblind: Race for the Pole, The Money Pit of Oak Island, and Dice Stars.

Muratas Featured For Star Trek Attack Wing

“The best defense is a good offense.”
-Mel, the cook on Alice
That’s certainly what the Xindi feel, and the Muratas ship for Star Trek Attack Wing plays right into it. If you’re looking for a ship that takes the fight right to your enemy, this is the one you’ll want to get.

WizKids Announces Sidekick Night Program

If the gaming community is going to continue to thrive, there needs to be a regular influx of new players. When a group stagnates and doesn’t bring in new players, eventually that group will vanish. But starting in with a game can potentially be rather intimidating. It’s good to have someone with you that knows the ropes and can teach you all about the game systems. That’s why WizKids is launching the Sidekick Night Program.

WizKids Previews Bioship Alpha (Repaint) for Attack Wing

Star Trek Attack Wing has been around for a couple years now. Some of the earlier ships have become hard to find. As such, WizKids’ latest waves have been made up of repaints and reissues of previous ships. Wave 29 will include a new, updated version of Bioship Alpha, of which we get a look at here.

WizKids Previews Deadpool (A Lot of Them) for HeroClix

One thing you’d expect to get in a set called Deadpool & X-Force is at least one Deadpool miniature. You might even expect two or three.
Well… never let it be known that WizKids doesn’t name their sets appropriately, as this set is creaking at the seams with Deadpools, of which we get a preview of 8 of them here. Yes. 8.

WizKids Previews U.S.S. Excelsior (Repaint) for Star Trek Attack Wing

Why don’t we continue our far-East theme with a look at an upcoming release for Star Trek Attack Wing? Seems like a good idea. WizKids is going back through some of their older ships and giving them repaints in the last couple waves. Wave 29 is no different. It will include the U.S.S. Excelsior, captained by Hikaru Sulu, of course most notably played by Japanese-American actor George Takei.

WizKids Previews Hulkpool For HeroClix

Just about everyone in the Marvel universe has had a Deadpool parody of them at some point, it seems. In this instance, it’s the Hulk that gets the Deadpool makeover. I have to admit, not having read comics for almost 2 decades now, I don’t quite know the circumstances that Wade ended up with gamma-infused powers, but there we are, then. Check out Hulkpool.

Iron Man & War Machine Set For Dice Masters Now Available

Iron Man.

WizKids Announces The Expanse Board Game
