Lots of things being released from Privateer Press. There’s some new sculpts for some favorite warcasters. There’s a new variant sculpt for another warcaster. There’s some new solos. And then there’s an expansion for The Undercity. Let’s take a look at all of those.

New 2-Player Starter Sets Available For Warmachine and Hordes From Privateer Press

Many times now you’ve probably read about my love of the 2-player starter box for games. My first foray into miniatures gaming was via a 2-player starter. It’s a great way to rope in… I mean… join in with a friend and have ready-to-play forces (once the glue dries, generally, anyway). Well, with the new edition of Warmachine and Hordes, Privateer Press has come out with new 2-player starters. They also have a new Cryx warjack box available today, too.

Review Roundup

Hey there everyone,
We’ve made it to Saturday, so that once again means it’s time for a Review Roundup. A bit lighter this week than usual. I’m sure that’s due to Gen Con last weekend. I expect, though, that the next couple weeks will be pretty full of new reviews. I know several reviewers were getting copies of the new CMON games, at least.

Also: We’re looking into what’s up with the TGN Blogs page. We’ll let you know when we find out anything.

Anyway, as for today, we’ve got: Battle of the Bands, Get Adler, Super Hack Override, Beneath Nexus, Legends of Andor New Heroes Expansion, Warmachine Cephalyx Mind Slaver & Drudges, Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition, Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu, Tyrants of the Underdark, Animals On Board, Farmageddon: Farm Fresh Edition, and Stellar Conflict.

But don’t worry, I’ll be sure to get plenty more pictures today and get ’em up this evening for you. Remember, follow the TGN Facebook page to get these as they’re posted if you simply cannot wait to see what’s going on here at the show.

Every year, Privateer Press likes to create a special, limited-edition miniature for Gen Con. They team up with the Ram brewery to also create a special beer for the duration of the show. Privateer Press Previews New Behemoth Figure for Warmachine

I remember having the original Behemoth figure. … Never was quite sure on the posing of that guy. He always seemed like he was trying to do a little jig or something. Well, Privateer decided the Dancing Behemoth needed a bit of an update, so they were working on a reculpt, which they’re now ready to show off.

Privateer Press Previews Cygnar for Warmachine MkIII

When I first started playing Warmachine, I played Khador. When MkII came out, I swapped to Cygnar because, in my opinion, Khador didn’t really change any, while Cygnar got some really cool, new things (models that hadn’t been viable before became viable, and so forth). Well, we’ve now got a preview of what Cygnar will be getting in the new MkIII edition of Warmachine. Will I be swapping armies again?

Privateer Press Previews Menoth for Warmachine MkIII

As we get closer to the release of the new MkIII rules for Warmachine/Hordes, we continue to get glimpses into what sort of changes are being made to the various factions. Absolutely everything is getting an overhaul, even if it’s just in points cost. But a lot of things are getting taken back to the drawing board and looked back over. I’m sure everyone’s rather anxious to see what their favorite models will end up playing like. Well, here’s another look. This time around, it’s Menoth.

Privateer Press Previews Jack Marshals From Warmachine MkIII

Privateer Press’ Jason Soles is giving us another look inside the upcoming MkIII version of Warmachine and Hordes. This time around, the focus is on Jack Marshals (pun… somewhat intended). With the emphasis on bringing more warjacks to the table, these models are getting a bit of a revamp. And it’s not just Jack Marshals, but any character that can run a Warjack or control a Warbeast that we get a look at.

All the factions are also getting a retooling. That means looking at each and every unit, solo, warjack, warcaster, and warlock in the game and seeing how they work with other things. Well, today we get a quick look at the Retribution of Scyrah and get some details (as well as looks at some stat cards) of what can be expected.

Privateer Press Retailer Big Game Announced

Privateer Press is running a pretty interesting competition over on their website. With the new edition of Warmachine and Hordes looming on the horizon, they are getting out some pretty big prizes that you and your LGS can win. And while I’m not generally a fan of trophy-hunting, this is one I can get behind.

Well, along with the new edition will be coming new starter boxes for each of the factions. These photos were on the little preview page, but you might’ve missed ’em. And since that page isn’t the easiest to get to, they’re now on the standard Privateer Press home page, as well as here.

New Warmachine and Hordes Previews Posted

New Warmachine/Hordes Previews Posted by Privateer Press

Look, I’ll just cut to the chase. You get a look at the new colossal for Cryx.
Sure, there’s a new pose for Deneghra, a new Convergence warcaster, and a new light beast kit coming for the Farrow, but it’s the colossal that’s going to be grabbing most people’s attention for this post.

Privateer Press Previews New Sculpts for Thunderhead and Proteus

Sometimes it’s strange to think just how long certain games have been around and how sculpts have changed over the years. I got in pretty much on the ground-floor of Warmachine, back when units still came in “leader” and “trooper” blisters and everything was pewter. You could get certain warcasters only in the starter boxes. Now it’s odd to think that my starter-box Stryker is possibly a rather rare item. Well, it seems my all-metal Thunderhead might be a rare thing at some point, as Privateer Press is showing of a resculpt for it.

Privateer Press Posts New Previews

I realize, as I type this, and the Imperial March starts playing on Pandora, that a good, “good guy gone bad” story is something most love to watch. Some fairly iconic characters were once good guys, but then went a little astray. Is there still a hope for redemption? Only the writers know that for sure. In today’s previews from Privateer Press, along with a bunch of templates and some resculpts, we get a look at both Commander Dalin Sturgis and Sturgis the Corrupted.

New Warmachine and Hordes Previews Posted

While I eventually switched over to Cygnar, my main force for the longest time in Warmachine was Khador. I remember when the Kodiak originally came out. It was all in pewter (as all figures from PP were at the time), but I worked on converting it, anyway, cutting off some of the extra metal around the hands, opening them up, sculpting on claws, and cutting the legs so it looked like it was running full-tilt forward. Well, I eventually sold off that army, but if I were to build it back up again, I’d have a lot easier time converting that figure with the new Kodiak plastic kit that’s coming out next year.

What about that preview? Well, it’s a biggie.

Big Update for Warmachine Tactics

Seems the fellows over at WhiteMoon Dreams have been pretty busy working on Warmachine Tactics. For those that might have forgotten, Warmachine Tactics is the video game version of Warmachine. It plays 90% like the tabletop game (some things had to be changed slightly due to the change in medium). Probably the biggest update comes in the form of the implementation of the Unreal Engine 4.9. But there’s more than that.
