TGN Saturday Edition: Review Roundup

Saturday night’s alright for fighting… your enemies on the tabletops around the world!
Hopefully you’re doing that, anyway.
I’ve got various whatnots I’m working on at home, one of which is spring cleaning. Joy of joys. But hey, it means next weekend I can have a game day here and not worry about people thinking that an actual bear lives in this place.

Anyway, until then, we’ve got our regular series of collecting up all the reviews we found over the past week and presenting them to you.

This week’s reviews/previews include: Cog ‘O’ Two Paint and Hobby Station, D&D Miniatures: Elemental Evil Booster, Fallen by Watchtower Games, Five Points: Gangs Of New York By Mayfair Games, Sandcastles Kickstarter, Lost Cities Card Game, Dungeon Dwellers, War of Kings, Super Fantasy Rumble, Black & White, Animal Upon Animal, Tide of Iron, Legion of Honor, and Star Wars Armada.

1A Games updates their Tide of Iron Kickstarter with new stretch goals

1A Games is still making their way to their funding goal over on Kickstarter for their Tide of Iron expansion, but they figured they should show off some stretch goals to help entice you to pledge.

Source

From the update:

This is it boys and girls; the Big One!

1A Games is pleased to announce what we feel is our best stretch goal yet:

This final stretch goal would allow us to produce (earlier than we had originally hoped) a new Map Pack expansion; this time with all new maps! It will feature 9 brand new double-sided map boards and 3 sheets of punch out terrain overlays and the art will match the style of the current maps from Normandy onwards.

Go and read the description for full details on what will be featured on the maps!

1A Games relaunches Tide of Iron Kickstarter campaign

1A Games reconfigured and clarified their Kickstarter campaign for Tide of Iron and has relaunched it.

From the relaunch:

1A Games re launches the Stalingrad and Tide of Iron new core starter set.
after listening to a bunch of great feedback from folks that had of had not backed us we are re launching the Kick Starter with all new levels and rewards

1A Games cancels Tide of Iron Kickstarter campaign, relaunch coming soon

1A Games cancelled their Kickstarter campaign for their Tide of Iron starter sets. They’re going to have a re-launch soon after they’ve retooled their campaign.

Source

From the update:

This Kickstarter is canceled and will be re-launched soon!

1A Games’s motto is “We recognize and listen to our fans” – and we have been listening.

We need to fix some of the pledge prices, add new pledge levels, and hopefully find a way to lower the shipping costs to our overseas fans.

We cannot change pledge levels once a Kickstarter is launched, and trying to add new rewards and pledge levels while the Kickstarter is running just seems to be confusing people.

Therefore, we are canceling this Kickstarter.

It will be re-launched after we re-write the pledge levels, and after we preview the revised version – especially with everyone who gave us feedback.

Thanks for your patience, understanding, and support!

1A Games launches Tide Of Iron: Stalingrad Kickstarter campaign

1A Games has launched their Kickstarter campaign for Tide of Iron: Stalingrad, their expansion to the original Tide of Iron game.

From the campaign:

1A Games’s Stalingrad expansion for the World War Two tactical board game series Tide of Iron (TOI) introduces players to the unprecedented, vicious street fighting that came to symbolize the brutality of what the Soviet Union called its Great Patriotic War.

You must have the TOI starter set in order to play the Stalingrad expansion. Don’t have the starter set yet? You can get the new “Next Wave” edition with special quick-start scenarios and some new, additional items (explained below) as a reward at the REGIMENT or CORPS levels.
