It’s Saturday. I’m hanging out in the bear’s den here. LGS has a huge tourney going on, so I’m just gonna hang out here. So it’s me, John Mulaney, and typing up the Review Roundup. Literally Netflix and chill (no innuendo). Everyone needs just some relaxed days occasionally. Anyway, as for the reviews…
Today we have: Deep-Cut Studios Print-O-Mat Service, Monster Lands, Clans of Caledonia, Hoyuk, Renown, AssassinCon, Azul, Charterstone, Great Scott!, Escape from 100 Million B.C., Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization iOS, Epic Monster Tea Party, Mortals, The Godfather: Corleone’s Empire, and Valley of the Alchemists.
Once more it’s early in the A.M. and I’m up. That’s just my schedule. But I’ve got another batch of galleries to show off from Day 2 of Gen Con. Remember, the best way to see these immediately is to follow us over on our Facebook page. Anyway, let’s get to it!
The latest set of releases are now available from CMON. It’s a gang-heavy month, it seems. There’s 3 organized crime games available (Banana Bandits, The Godfather: Corleone’s Empire, and Gang Rush: Breakout), one about investigating a murder scene in Sherlook, and finally, there’s Modern Art, which, I guess, you could be smuggling stolen art. What I’m saying is that, without meaning to, it’s kind of a theme month this month.
Today at the CMON booth here at Gen Con, the folks were kind enough to invite a group of media people to get a sneak-preview of several games that will be coming out in the next 6-12 months from them. It was a great experience to get a closer look at what will be the “new hotness” in gaming soon. First up, Eric Lang, himself, gave us a preview of The Godfather board game he’s been working on.
It’s time for the final panel here at the CMON Expo. We’ve had our look at Wrath of Kings and Dark Age. We’ve had our look at Massive Darkness. Now we sit down for a nice, quiet, fireside chat with game developer Eric Lang (he’s Canadian).
It’s been a great day here at the CMON Expo. Lots of cool stuff going on. Lots to see. Lots to do.
What? You don’t believe me? I thought we were better friends than that. But fine, if you want photographic evidence of the awesomeness, that’s alright. I’ve got you covered.
I’m gonna make you an offer… that you can’t refuse… *scratches neck*
CoolMiniOrNot has announced that they’re teaming up once more with award-winning game designer Eric Lang and star artist Karl Kopinski to bring you a new game based on the classic mobster movie, The Godfather.
IDW has had two big announcements from the GAMA trade show. They’ll be making games based on both The Godfather series of movies as well as the Orphan Black set of comics and shows.
For The Godfather, there will be all manner of games from quick-to-play board and dice games all the way up to a big board game release. The first of the games will be a card game coming out this summer and moving on from there.
Along with that are the Orphan Black series of games. These, too, will begin with a card game coming this summer. Also, they will be making a board game based on this series as well.
From the announcements: Continue reading
