Spaghetti Western Games

It's Saturday.
It's also October.
I mean, seriously, can it really get that much better than this? Oh, yeah, *puts on some Type O Negative while working on the post* There we go.
Anyway, you want 'em, so here's your reviews for the week.

Today we have: Patchwork, Epic Roll: Eclipse, Arcadia Quest, Tutti Frutti, True Messiah, Eclipse, Trickerion: Legends of Illusion, Dodge Dice, Grifters, Codenames: Pictures, and Agamemnon.

It is fairly common knowledge that dragons like to hoard treasure in their caves. They'll grab whatever they can and then stuff it into a hidden away spot, far from adventurers. Or, hopefully it's far from adventurers. Well, one such cave has been found. Better yet, the dragon doesn't seem to be home. So now's a perfect time to rush in and grab some gold for yourself. However, you're not the only one that's noticed the dragon's absence. The race is on to be the one that gets out with the most loot. That's the story behind Looterz, a new board game available from CMON.
One of the comics I've read for longer than pretty much any other is Dork Tower. I remember getting some compilation issue decades ago and carrying it around with me in my gaming backpack. I think it finally disintegrated a couple years back. So I love seeing when John Kovalic has a new game coming out. Such is the case with Cthulhu in the House, a game that CoolMiniOrNot will be publishing soon.
So it happens with these sorts of things, the Kickstarter campaign for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia is coming to an end. The campaign will end tomorrow at 7pm Eastern. So if you want to get in there and help retake the guild's training grounds from the evil clutches of Malaphyas, you'd better act now.
Well, if you're going to have a dungeon, you'd better have it full of monsters. That's what I'd think, anyway. And that's what CoolMiniOrNot and Spaghetti Western think as well, as they've added a new Monsters Dice add-on to their Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia Kickstarter campaign.
Watch It Played, for those that don't know, is a YouTube channel that, well... it's sort of right there in the name, but it's a channel devoted to showing gamers how to play many of the great games that exist in our hobby. Rodney Smith has been running the channel for several years and many of his videos feature his son, Luke (who is known to just have "the touch" when it comes to getting dice to work in his favor). Well, Luke's now getting his own figure for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia.
If you're going to clean out the Masmorra dungeon and return to being a guild training ground, you're going to need help. Well, now you can pick from several more heroes to go down there and deal with those monsters. A new Adventurers Set add-on has been... well... added on to the Masmorra Kickstarter campaign.
Sometimes there's a game you really love the world for, but you want to play something different than the "standard" game that you have with it. For many systems, that's not really much of an option. However, if you're a fan of Arcadia Quest but want to see something new, look no further than Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia. The Kickstarter launches in a week.
The clock is running out. If you want to join in on the Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter campaign, you'd better hurry. It'll all end tonight at 8:00pm EST (that's 1:00am GMT to help for you internationals). The campaign is quite an extensive one, not only giving you Inferno, but gobs of extras as well.
Well, with all the other dragons that've been making their way into Arcadia Quest, it really was only a matter of time before the classic, fire-breathing variety made an appearance. And such is the case now, with the Fire Dragon Box Set Add-on that's now part of the Inferno Kickstarter campaign.
Well, it seems people were excited about the Whole Lotta Lava expansion box for the Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter campaign. New backers and extra pledges coming in bumped the campaign up and over the $1mil. mark. What does that mean? Well, it means there needs to be new stretch goals to bust down. *sniffsniff* I hope that's just almonds I smell... as the new Poison Dragon looks to make its way to the campaign.
Ok, yeah, I've got Christmas music playing right now, but what's actually running through my head is Led Zepplin thanks to the title of this new expansion announced for Arcadia Quest: Inferno. Ignos, a new Minor Villain, is making (lava) waves in the Inferno, causing all sorts of trouble for the heroes. But his new box set is more than just a new figure to bring to the table.
Chaos is descending upon the heroes of Arcadia Quest... literally... like in the form of a big damn dragon... a Chaos Dragon, to be specific. That's right, not only is there a Frost Dragon to worry about in the land of Arcadia, there's a Chaos Dragon as well, and you can add it to your collection as part of the Inferno Kickstarter.
It should probably come as no surprise to you that I'm an animal lover. Until three years ago, I'd always had pets around the house, going back to when I was just a little kid. At parties, I'm the one that's over in the corner, talking to the dog or cat instead of interacting with the other people there. Well, now Arcadia Quest is bringing in pets to the game. It's a full expansion that's just been added to the Arcadia Quest Inferno Kickstarter campaign.
All this heat!
Can't we do anything to down this Inferno!
*gets hit with a freezing cold blast from the Frost Dragon*
... Thank you!
Yeah, this is one I've been anxious to talk about for a while. Arcadia Quest is getting itself a new super-boss monster in the form of the Frost Dragon expansion, now available as an add-on as part of the Inferno Kickstarter campaign.
Well, that was quite a 24 hours for the start of the Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter campaign. The campaign funded in about 5min. It possibly would've been sooner, but Kickstarter stalled out briefly right at launch (seems that CMON Kickstarters have that sort of effect). This, of course, then meant that stretch goals were being broken even by the time the first actual update was posted. Well, now it's time to go through some more as a whole bunch of add-ons have been added.
Is it getting hot in here or is it just me?
Actually, things are heating up for every resident of Arcadia. Inferno is upon us. From CoolMiniOrNot and Spaghetti Western Games, the Kickstarter campaign for the new stand-alone expansion for Arcadia Quest has been launched. Head down into the burning caverns, collecting gear and rescuing Angels along the way to the very center of the world.
Yeah, Arcadia Quest Inferno might be just around the corner, but that's just the Kickstarter campaign (which you can read more about here). There's gonna be months to wait after that for the figures to make it to your doorstep. In the meantime, though, CoolMiniOrNot has some new heroes to line the ranks of your guild.
Hey everyone. We've got a special treat for you today. Our own, beloved, Jared Miller has written up a preview of some of the new things you can expect to see in Arcadia Quest: Inferno, which will launch on Kickstarter on Monday. So without further ado, take it away, Jared!

Welcome back to the city of Arcadia! There are beautiful sights to see, wonderful shops to spend your hard earned coin at, and if you’re the adventurous type, you can even join a Guild of heroes to fight against the occasional monster (or other Guilds) for loot and glory! Over here we have the city’s fountain. Uh oh. Looks like it’s spewing molten lava at the moment. Well, that’s not normal…

Inferno Box
Shiny rocks.
It's amazing how much of our history is based on people looking for shiny rocks and trading them back and forth. And let's face it, we love wearing shiny rocks. We love looking at shiny rocks. Wars are fought over shiny rocks. From really, really big wars, to small wars on your tabletop. In Queen's Necklace, you play as gem merchants looking to acquire the most wealth by trading your various shiny rocks in. But the price you'll get for your shiny rocks varies depending on how rare they are and how fashionable they are.
Queen's Necklace is making a comeback to gaming tabletops near you. Spaghetti Western Games and CMON are working hard to make sure this new version runs perfectly and looks great. To run right, they've updated the rules to make sure all clarifications and updates have been incorporated, even those originally only posted as digital FAQs.

To make sure it looks great, they've enlisted Denis Zilber to create the new card art. Denis is a highly regarded artist who has worked with such studios as Hasbro Animation, Dreamworks, and Nickelodeon. He's also done artwork in books for publishers like Penguin Publishing, Scholastic Books, Hotkey Books, Sterling Children's Books, and Clubhouse Jr. Even with such a busy schedule, he still finds time to travel the world, teaching and giving lectures on both animation and storytelling.

We've been given exclusive artwork to show off from the project. Check below the cut for a look at 6 of the new cards for the game, as well as the layout for the new game board.
You'll be able to pick up a copy for yourself this coming September.
CMON and Spaghetti Western are teaming up to re-release the Queen's Necklace card game. Originally released by Days of Wonder, Queen's Necklace is a bluffing and set collecting game where players are trying to collect gems to create the greatest piece of jewelry to appease the French Queen. But watch out, as the King can block gems from being used. CMON and Spaghetti Western will be adding all-new artwork to the cards, as well as updating the rules to integrate various changes and FAQ clarifications from previous editions of the game. Expect to see the game this September.

From the announcement:
CMON Expo continues to grow. They've added another trio of events for this upcoming year. (I know, because I put them there)
First off is a fan favorite, Frankenfest. Modelers work all weekend making whatever they can with a plethora of random bits. It's great fun and I can't wait to see what people create this year.
Next is the Kaos Ball Cup. The winner of this convention-long event will be crowned the Kaos Ball Champion and get the Koas Ball Cup trophy.
Finally is the Sedition Wars: Why Can't it go Smooth event. 6 players must try and race out of a doomed space station before... well... you don't want to miss the flight, let me tell you.
Check them all out on the CMON Expo website.

From the update:
Kaosball posted up their League rules for their game up on their website. Man, I need to get into a league around here.

From the announcement:

GREAT NEWS! The Kaosball League Rules are available for download! Start a League and compete for the coveted Kaosball Chalice.

Also, you can take your tournament even further by asking your Friendly Local Game Store to order the Kaosball League Kit.

Kaosball, by Spaghetti Western and CoolMiniOrNot, gets reviewed by the experts over at Play Board Games.

From the post:

Kaosball: the Sport of Total Domination is a sports miniature game of bluffing, area-control, and luck.
