What is it? Wednesday? Thursday? *looks at the calendar* Oh… Monday.
Must be an after-show Monday. They always feel like much further in the week. Ah well, my time at CMON Expo was pretty awesome. Will be looking forward to next year.
In the meantime, we need to talk about making your gaming tables look good while I go get a bit more caffeine.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Sally 4th 28mm scale Tramp Steamer kit Available For Pre-order, Meso-American Sale At Acheson Creations, and Deep-Cut Studio release official Morticians pitch for Guild Ball.
Sally 4th has started taking pre-orders for Red Book of the Elf King. It’s a new fantasy skirmish game from the mind of Rick Priestley (guessing you’ve probably heard of him before). Players control a Circle, which is a group of warriors and their Thane that controls them. There’s all manner of deals you can get for the game, depending on how deep you want to jump in right at the beginning. Shipping will start happening at the end of May.
Well, they say that April showers bring May flowers. Well, it rained most of yesterday and it’s supposed to rain for most of today, too. It’s hard to think of a Sunday where it didn’t rain, actually. Ah well, it washes all the pollen out of the air, so I can’t really complain too much. Anyway, as it’s Monday, that means we’ve got a long week ahead of us until we get to the weekend again. But that also gives us time to make our gaming tables look great for next week’s games. Time to help with that.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Buildings for Bolt Action From Sally 4th, Lifeless Land Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, and New Mechanicum Elevator Available From Tabletop Scenics.
Wednesday already. Granted, for me, it’s usually the day of the week that takes the longest. Not that there’s anything particular terrible that happens on Wednesdays. It’s just the day that seems to go on the longest. Gotta make it up and over that hill and then we can slide back down toward the weekend. “Step by step, you climb the mountain,” such as it were. But when climbing mountains, you need to bring along provisions. In this case, it’s bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Cross-Shaped Clear Bases Available From Sally 4th, Dog Centaur Minis Available From Punga Miniatures, Wizards and Lizards Paper Minis Available From Okumarts Games, New Space Corsair Mini Available From Brother Vinni, Overrunners Sci-Fi Minis and Vehicles Up On Kickstarter, and Big Fat Panda Running Gaming Protection Components Kickstarter.
The week continues along. As is usual for me, it seems as though Wednesday took an eternity. But now it’s gone and I can continue to just focus on wanting to get to the weekend. D&D will be had. Not sure if this group uses much terrain in their games, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still talk about good-looking tables.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Games06 Creating Game Mats and Magnetic Scenery, New Release for Terra-Block Urban Block / Shopping Mall, Modular Kit: Desert City – Houses Available From Heroic Maps, Ships: The Queen of Swords Available From Heroic Maps, Ships: The Bloody Sunrise Available From Heroic Maps, Forge of the Fire Hammer Available From Heroic Maps, Deep-Cut Studio releases official game mat for Pacific Rim: Extinction by River Horse, and Warzone Studio Releases Saraha Game Mat.
And we’ve made it to Friday. Woohoo! The weekend looms ahead of us, full of all the potential that it brings. But, before we chow down on all those hard-boiled eggs and kielbasa (at least, that’s what I’ll be having) over the next couple days, let’s snack on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Miniature Building Authority Running Modern 28mm Truck Kickstarter, Syrinscape and Chaosium Inc. Announce Official Sounds for Call of Cthulhu, Sally 4th Releases New Canal Boats, and New Ruins of Sanctuary Bases Available From Tabletop-Art.
Hello, Saturday Eve Eve. At least, that’s what I think of when I think of Thursday. I also start thinking about what I’m going to do over the weekend. Not long ago, I base-coated my Hunter’s Guild. They might just end up with some more colors besides flat black on them. Also, gonna try making Jammie Dodgers. We’ll see how that goes. But whatever I do, I also need to share terrain news with you. So let me do that now.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Sarissa Precision Cricket Pavilion Set Available, Post Apocalypse Terrain Up On Kickstarter, New Modular Shopping Mall Board from Sally 4th, and New Industrial MDF Scenery Available From Pwork Wargame.
Quite a blustery day here in Atlanta for the middle of the week. Despite being the first day of spring, it seems as though winter is looking to hang on for a little longer. So, even though there’s more light than there is dark now (at least, here in the Northern Hemisphere), we should still stock up on bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Okumarts Games Releases Four Sets of Super-villain Paper Miniatures, Gravetides Fantasy Fleet Coming to Kickstarter, Afro-Zombie Launching Steam Girls 75mm Minis Kickstarter Soon, Stars Reach 2 Kickstarter Running Now, Dark Art Studios Running Devil’s Dungeon II Kickstarter, Elder Dice: Unspeakable Tomes Up On Kickstarter, and Really Useful Box Storage For Sails of Glory Ships Released.
Hey there. We’ve all made it to Wednesday. Half the week’s over. We’ve just got the other half to go. Granted, with how the wind’s howling out there, we might just get blown to the weekend quicker.
But while I go tie my car to a tree and watch the neighborhood kids go sailing by, let’s nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today we have: Kraken Dice Introduces Ethereal Shaman Dice, Dragon Lords: Grenadier Miniatures Up On Kickstarter, Ironwatch: Tales of the Stars Short Stories Now Available, Really Useful Box – Hobby Box inserts from Sally 4th, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm February Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, INSIDIA: Miniatures from the Wastelands Up On Kickstarter, and New WWII Goblins Available From Warhansa.
Gateway to the weekend. AND! I placed an order for some new dice yesterday. So you know I’m stoked. When dice sets sell out in a matter of minutes, and you manage to get some, it’s a pretty good feeling. Still riding high on that wave today.
Anyway, as I wait for those to come in, I think I’ll snack on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Starship Bases Available From Tabletop-Art, Really Useful Star Wars X Wing Storage Available From Sally 4th, and Zangrahel by Ignacio Fernández Ríos Available From Industria Mechanica.
The weekend continues to draw ever-closer. Another couple days and we’ll be there. I hope you have gaming plans. I’m a bit up in the air at the moment. But that’s alright. Even if nothing fully materializes, I’m thinking I might work on painting the first minis that I’ll have painted in several years. It’d be my Fisherman Guild for Guild Ball (at least the main 7 players I choose). Wish me luck. But, in the meantime, as I contemplate making my figures look better on the table, let’s make those tables look better, themselves.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Terra-Former Passageway Tile Kit From Sally 4th, Combat Plaza: SciFi Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargames, and Brigade Models – Small Scale Walled Farms now Available.
As the week continues along, we get ever-closer back to that beloved weekend. Still have half the week to get through, though. And if we’re gonna make it, we should stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Bases Available From Secret Weapon Miniatures, New Classic Movie Minis Available To Order From Sally 4th, Dark Art Studios Announces Devil’s Dungeon II Project, Warsaw Uprising 1944 28mm Figures by Infamous JT Up On Kickstarter, and Legendary Metal Coins Season 3 Live on Kickstarter.
Well, not every day can be the weekend, I suppose. You need a week to have a weekend. And if you have something, then you have the start of something. So, as it happens, Monday is the start of the week.
Ok, so my overly-long-winded way of saying, “It’s Monday again” is out of the way, let’s get to those terrain articles.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Sally 4th Plot Point of the Month – Chinese Altar, Hartenstein Hotel Available From Warlord Games, and Hellgate Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame.
Well… I’m sick. Woke up this morning feeling worse than I went to bed last night. So, if you get a virus alert when you look at TGN today, just wipe it down with some Lysol and you’ll be fine. (ok, actually, if you get a virus alert when you open up TGN, lemme know because that means something’s seriously wrong O,o)
So, while I chug this orange juice, work on this bottle of Dayquil, and heat up another bowl of soup, you should check out these terrain articles.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Overpass Available From Battlefront, Heroic Maps – Modular Kit: Dry Ravine Bundle Now Available, New Pulp Era Caravan kit from Sally 4th, Brigade Models Releases New 6mm SF Buildings, and Heroic Maps – Drabdon City Sewer Now Available
Sally 4th wants to hear about your experiences with Combat Patrol, and they’re willing to reward you for it by giving you some Vehicle Stat Cards for free. It’s pretty simple to get your free stuff. Just play a game, then report it online somewhere (be it your own blog, or their forums, or such), and let them know about your post. Boom! Free stuff! Simple as that.
Back in the office after a busy weekend. How busy? Well, I made 2 fruitcakes, 2 batches of chocolate chip cookies, 2 batches of gingerbread cookies, 2 batches of cinnamon nuts, and then 1 batch each of salted caramel dark chocolate brownies, chip ‘n’ mint cookies, nutmeg sugar cookies with egg nog frosting, candy cane cookies, and an extra batch of that egg nog frosting to put on the other cookies. … Like I said, I was busy.
So, while my coworkers chow down on the fruit(cakes) of my labor, let’s get your gaming tables looking good.
Today we have: Wyrd Previews New Terrain, New Footbridges and Road bridges from Sally 4th, Heroic Maps – Giant Maps: Ice Base Khione Now Available, and Erdhexe Battlemat Now Available From Warzone Studio.
I survived the Snowpocalypse here in Atlanta. And I’m one of the lucky ones that never lost power (for more than just a flicker, anyway). I’ve got some friends that are still without. Hopefully they’ll get it back soon. And I hope all of you had a chance to enjoy the winter wonderland (if it occurred near you). And while I can’t say that these terrain stories will turn your gaming table into a winter wonderland, they will make them look nice.
Today we have: Tabletop Scenics Caption Contest Happening Now, Two Holiday Playmats Available From Fantasy Flight, Power VTT Launches Asset Subscription For Battlemap Building, and Sally 4th Running Modern African Wargames Terrain Kickstarter.
Here we are, once more at the threshold to the weekend. I know I’m ready for it. It’s been a busy week with a lot of work going on here at the office. I could use a day of just hanging out and playing with my toy soldiers with some good friends. At least, that’s the plan for tomorrow. In the meantime, it’s time to fill up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
On the platter today we have: Gundabad Orc Upgrade Set Available To Order from Forge World, Early Achaemenid Persian Immortals Available From Xyston Miniatures, More Really Useful Box Storage Items Available From Sally 4th, and New Iron Reich Warchief Available From Kromlech.
We’re halfway to getting back to the weekend. Methinks I’m going to take it easy this weekend. I found out my LGS is going to be absolutely packed with several events running for games I don’t really play, so I’ll probably just veg at my place. I could use a relaxing couple of days, anyway. Though it does mean I still need to wait to break in my custom Guild Ball mat (more on that tomorrow. Stay tuned). In the meantime, I’m feeling a bit peckish, so how about noshing on some bite-sized gaming stories?
Today on the platter we have: New Options For Really Useful Box Storage System From Sally 4th, Statuesque Starport Able Spacewomen Now Available, New 3mm C-130 Hercules at PicoArmor, New Orc Hand Grenades Available From Kromlech, Impact! Miniatures D3 to D30 Dice Chains on KickStarter now with Cotton Candy dice, 3D Printable Tanks Up On Kickstarter, and Fantasy Stock Art & RPG Minis Up On Kickstarter.
We’re standing (well, I’m sitting) at the threshold to the weekend. With any luck, yours will be filled with all manner of gaming. I’ve yet to fully decide what I’ll be up to. But that’s sometimes half the fun. But whatever I end up doing, I should fuel up on bite-sized gaming stories. Good thing that’s what we’ve got here.
Today on the platter we have: SnapDice: Magnetic Dice Tray Up On Kickstarter, Chaos Books of Damnation Available From Kromlech, and Sally 4th Running Classic Movie Miniatures Kickstarter.
The work week rolls along (that’s a pun for my friend Gavin who just dumped a bunch of ball bearings on the floor, apparently). We’re another step closer to that always-anticipated weekend (at least, I always am anticipating it). Here’s to hoping yours is filled with gaming (mine will probably be filled with baking). And when gaming, it’s good to have as good-looking a gaming table as you can. So let’s help with that.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Brigade Models Update, Heroic Maps – Spacecraft: HLS Perceptas Now Available, Sally 4th 28mm scale US Arts & Craft Style Buildings Released, Table of Ultimate Gaming Huge Campaign Detail Update Completed, Cobblestone City: Fantasy Gaming Mat Available from Pwork Wargames, and Samurai Fleet Available From Papierschnitzel.
We’re already halfway through the week. Having Monday off certainly helps with that. But as we continue our way through the week, I know I could still use a bit of a pick-me-up. So I’m going to nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: RPG Player Kits Up On Kickstarter, Miniature Mentor Releases Basing Volume 5 with Fabrizio Russo, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm August Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, New 28mm WW2 character models from Stoessi’s Heroes, New Legionary Maces Available from Kromlech, Really Useful Box Conversion Kits Available from Sally 4th, and New Female Genie Miniature Available From Brother Vinni.
WWII was truly a global conflict. While the various European forces were making their way back and forth across that continent, and Rommel and Monty were dueling it out in Africa, the islands of the Pacific saw plenty of fighting as well. Sally 4th is now letting you recreate those battles with their South Pacific supplement for Combat Patrol. It is available now. But it’s not just the supplement that’s new. There’s also a new deck box and some terrain.
Sally 4th. July 4th. Seems legit. Yeah, I know we’re passed the 4th (it being currently the 10th and all). But anyway, July is a good time to get into Combat Patrol, the WWII skirmish game. Sally 4th is running a special on their website for a starter set, as well as having posted up two free supplements you can download and check out.
The work week continues on. We’ll make it to the end, though. Just another day and a half and we’ll be back at the weekend. And with weekends comes gaming (hopefully). And with gaming comes gaming tables. So let’s do our part to make your gaming tables look as good as possible.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Apocalypse Miniatures Running Fantasy Resin Terrain Kickstarter, Sally 4th Posts Terra-Former Kickstarter Update, Late Pledges for TerrainCrate RPG Scenery Available Now, and Hellgate: Fantasy Gaming Mat Available from Pwork Wargames.
It’s that time again, everyone. Friday. The gateway to the weekend. I’m sure a lot of you are going to be heading out to the LGS to try the new edition of 40k. I’m hoping to just hang out with some friends and keep things chill. I saw some games of 8th Edition last week via a preview copy my LGS had. People were really excited about it. It’s looking like a good system. But if you’re going to be at the LGS all day, gaming it up, hardcore, you need to have plenty of energy. Best to fill up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Hawkmen Prepare for Kickstarter Launch, Kromlech Weekend Promo Sale, Sloppy Jalopy T62 Available Now From Sally 4th, Devil Forge Miniatures Release Odo Grumblebelly, and The Raider Vs the Unnameable In Alien Invasion Kickstarter.
This has been quite the week. Monday the site was busted. Tuesday we got it fixed and things were alright. Yesterday it tried to break again, but it was fixed rather quickly. Things seem to be flowing smoothly today… Hopefully it stays that way… I just know that I could use a weekend. We’ll get there, eventually. Just a day and a half left. Anyway, as we missed out on Monday’s Terrain Corner, let’s make sure not to skip today’s. So, with that in mind…
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Small Scale Spanish Scenery Available From Brigade Models, Sally 4th Running Terra-Formers Kickstarter, Manorhouse Workshop Previews Beyond the Door & Eerie Silence Kickstarter Packs, and Cobblestone City Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame.
Trying to get back into the regular schedule of things here after the CMON Expo. It was a great show, as usual. Still rather tired, but that’s what happens. We’ve technically got the day off, but that doesn’t mean I can just not give you the news. So I’m still here, anyway. So, there were some great tables at the show, and you can get your tables looking just as good. Let’s help with that.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New African Airport Building in 28mm from Sally 4th, New Rubber Battlefield Mat From BattleMats, and Illwinter’s Floorplan Generator On Steam.
Well, it’s Thursday. This week has gone by super-fast, mostly because of how busy it’s been. But that’s what happens the week before a show. Also, we’ve had a lot of people in the office to help prep. So that makes time go by, too. At the CMON Expo, there’ll be plenty of games going on, all of them on some good-looking tables. If you’re looking to make your tables look good, you should check out these stories.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Deep-Cut Studio releases sandy game mats for dedicated games, New 28mm British Houses Available From Sally 4th, New Terrain And Graffiti Transfers From Micro Art Studio, Torture Chamber unlocked as TerrainCrate total hits $400k, Two New Mats Available In Neoprene From Pwork Wargame, and BattleMats Releases Death Road Map.
And we’ve once more made it back to Monday.
That’s alright, we still have our memories from the weekend (hopefully. Unless you perhaps partook too much of some form of boozy beverages). And next weekend will be upon us before we realize (I hope, anyway). In the meantime, let’s make sure that when next weekend does roll around, our gaming tables are looking as good as possible.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Bridges Available From Sally 4th, New 10mm Normandy Houses Available From Escenografia Epsilon, and Dark London Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame.
We’ve made it, everyone. It’s Friday (be sure to get your free item from Kroger). With any luck, your weekend will be filled with all things gaming. I’m… gonna take it a bit easy. It’s pollen season here in GA, and while I’m not particularly allergic to any of it, it’s like getting a face-full of dust or chalk. You cough, you sneeze, your eyes water just because of the amount of particulate in the air. So it’s best to just stay inside and fill up on bite-size gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Figure Storage Inserts for Vehicles Available From Sally 4th, Rise to Nobility launches on Kickstarter on April 5th, Go Fish Fitness Kickstarter – Final Week, Bits of War 3rd Anniversary Sale, Purgatory edges closer to completion with new arrivals of models, and April 1st Deals from Advanced Deployment.
Ok, so I didn’t go to Adepticon, and that’s sad. However, it’s Monday morning and I’ve got no “convention hangover” and no long-ass drive/flight home and no Con Crud to worry about. So, it has its upsides as well. It would seem that much of my Friend’s list isn’t so lucky. But while they down extra pots of coffee to stay awake or extra gallons of orange juice to cure themselves, they can check out ways to make their gaming tables look great.
Today in the terrain corner we have: New Infinity Inc Battle Mat From Warzone Studio, City Ruins Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, Deep-Cut Studio releases Wild West themed game mat, and New British Defenses from Sally 4th.
The week continues to just crawl on by. Man, I’ve not felt a week has taken this long for quite a while. I feel like I should be typing up the Friday Snippets instead of the Thursday Terrain Corner. But here we are. What do you suppose the chances are that the weekend will be like that? Where Saturday afternoon I’ll be going, “Geeze! Isn’t it supposed to be Monday by now!?” Probably very low. But, in the meantime, let’s make your gaming tables look as good as possible.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Battlefront Features Battlefield in a Box: Small Desert Houses, Robot City Obelisks Available From Frontline Gaming, Obelisk and Amphora sets Available From Tabletop-Art, Battlefront Features Battlefield in a Box: Desert Walls, Battlefield Game Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, New Arabian Terrain From Najewitz Modellbau, and New Exotic Locations Terrain From Sally 4th.
The week rolls along (and I’ve got Ace of Spades playing), so you know I’m working at a pretty fevered tempo. If I’m going to keep up this pace as I work on TGN stuff and then get busy with some work on (redacted), I need to get a good meal of bite-sized gaming stories. Good thing that’s just what we’ve got here.
On the platter today we have: Free Hearts February From Advanced Deployment, Luxury Hand Crafted Playing Card Holders On Kickstarter, SpecForce Rangers: Outlanders Phase 4 Sci-Fi Minis Up On Kickstarter, Knuckleduster’s Latest Wild West Release Now Available, The Third Law Coming to Kickstarter This Spring, PenguinComics.com Releases Four Horror/Fantasy Fonts for RPG Developers, Renegade Companion App now includes Clank, New Miniatures Released by RBJ Game Company, Battlefront Features Team Yankee East German Gaming Aids, and Sally 4th Releases Sloppy Jalopy 28mm Chieftain kit.
And we’ve made it, once again, to Friday. Woot!
The weekend lays ahead of us. If you’re lucky, you’ve got some gaming scheduled. That’s what I’ll be doing.
In the meantime, we’ve got our regular set of bite-sized gaming stories for you.
On the platter today we have: Sine Tempore Coming To Kickstarter, Devil’s Run RPG Coming To Kickstarter, Unit Reference Cards for Combat Patrol Napoleonic Skirmish Released, Raging Heroes Releases Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Heavy Weapons Teams, Board Game Beaver Interviews Anne Pätzke, Brother Vinni Releases Robotic Dog, Kromlech Weekend Promo Happening Now, and Dreamchaser: A Game of Destiny Coming To Kickstarter.
