Cross Lances has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the 3rd installment of their Rough and Tumble board game. The game is played much like Chess, but there’s a hexagonal board, instead of the usual squares. The game sets itself apart, also, by being for those of you out there with 3D printers. No shipping costs required when you just download a file and create the minis, yourself, right on your desk. This new set includes Chaos and High Elves.

More and more people are getting 3D printers these days.
Meanwhile, I don’t have a regular printer at home. But that’s beside the point. The proliferation of 3D printers means that game companies can offer games to you without any shipping costs. They just send you the files for your printer and you make your own minis right at home. The folks at Cross Lances are doing that with their expansion to Rough and Tumble, which is up on Kickstarter now.

3D printers are becoming more and more common. Just a couple years ago, they were really cutting-edge technology. Now you can get yourself a modestly-priced one to sit on your office desk at home. And they’re getting to be more common all the time. Well, with that innovation in a lot of people’s hands comes people looking to fill in the market for those owners with interesting products for their 3D printers. One is Rough and Tumble, a new Chess-like board game that’s up on Kickstarter now. It takes “print and play” to a whole new dimension (yes, I’m proud of that one).
