Privateer Press Previews October Releases for Warmachine

Hopefully you’re enjoying the Wicked Harvest releases for Hordes that just came out. I’m sure some of you have picked up the new faction. But what if you just want to fight against them? Well, there’s some new releases coming out for other factions as well, including the original creepers, Cryx… Though much of it is for Cygnar.
They will also be coming out with Company of Iron, their new skirmish-sized version of Warmachine and Hordes.

Grymkin Now Available From Privateer Press

The other day, a friend of mine snapped a picture outside of her local Kroger. They had Halloween decorations for sale. It seems Privateer Press is much in the same spirit, as the Grymkin, the latest faction for Hordes, full of creepy and scary monsters, is now available.

Privateer Press Announces MiniCrate Subscription Box

Lots of my friends do some form or another of subscription service. Whether it’s Blue Apron or Lootcrate or Graze or Comic Bento, every month they’re getting a mystery box of goods, often with exclusive or special-release items. Well, fans of Privateer Press can now get their own, specially-made box, as they have announced the launch of their own subscription box service called MiniCrate.

Latest Retribution Releases Available From Privateer Press

The second batch of releases for the month are now available over in the Privateer Press webshop, as well as an LGS near you (probably). This group is another batch of the elves, with some units, a solo, a warjack, and a new… well… old… new-old warcaster making an appearance.

Privateer Press Launches Warmachine and Hordes Cards Database

We’ve known that Privateer Press was going to go mostly-paperless with their games Warmachine and Hordes. This means you’ll have to get the cards online. But where? Well, in the new Card Database that they’ve launched, of course. It’s free to access and has every card for every mini there. It will be regularly updated, as necessary, whenever new changes to model’s stats or abilities are made.

Privateer Press seeks Studio Painter

Are you a really good colored-goop slinger? I am not. My painting skills were never that great and have certainly atrophied over the years due to disuse. But if your painting is of the level that other gamers drool over it (make sure to seal your figures well…), then Privateer Press might just have a spot for you on their team. They’re looking for a new Studio Painter.

Privateer Posts New Grymkin Previews

The Grymkin are getting ever-closer to your tabletops. This new faction for Hordes harkens back to the very beginning of Privateer Press where many of these creatures appeared in the Monstronomican and the Iron Kingdoms Campaign Setting book. Soon, you’ll be able to control them like never before. Or, just finally have the appropriate mini for when you’re playing an IKRPG game.

No Quarter Magazine Evolving to No Quarter Prime

Privateer Press is updating No Quarter magazine. As they push for more digital content, changing their books and cards to digital releases, No Quarter is looking to supplement that material. The magazine is also moving to a bi-monthly release schedule (that’s one ever-other month. Not twice a month… You’d really think they’d come up with a different word for both of those)…

Privateer Press Previews September Releases For Warmachine/Hordes

We’re just over halfway through June. It’s getting really hot outside. Personally, I’m looking forward to this fall. Why? That’s my secret. I’m always looking forward to fall. But I know a lot of other people are looking forward to this fall because the Grymkin are going to be making their way to tabletops in games of Warmachine and Hordes. Well, Privateer Press is showing off what’ll be coming out in the month of September, and I figured you’d like to take a peek.

New Retribution Releases Available For Warmachine

The elves in Western Immoren have had quite a time of it lately. Their gods had disappeared. Their kids were being born without souls. They had a vampire version of one of them trying to kill their last god. It as kind of a mess. Now, things are turning around a bit. They’re on the warpath and taking their own future into their hands. The new Command book for the faction is available for Warmachine, as well as several new units and a warcaster.

Privateer Press Announces Company of Iron Warmachine/Hordes Skirmish Game

I originally picked up Warmachine as a “quick, small, fast game to play when I didn’t want to play a ‘big game’ of 40k.” Not long afterward, Warmachine turned into a pretty big game, all its own. Well, Privateer Press is pulling back and coming out with Company of Iron, a new skirmish game based in the Warmachine/Hordes universe.

Something a little different for you to put in an application for with this one. Privateer Press is looking to hire a new Hobby Specialist and Terrain Maker. So if you’re not really one for rules-making, or don’t particularly think you’re good at coming up with concept art, you might check this one out if you’re good at putting together figures and making terrain (gross oversimplification is gross).

Not all of Privateer’s announcements lately have been received well. But, here’s one I think most people will have a positive take on. They’re showing off their June releases. If you’re a fan of elves (the techy kind, anyway), you’ll want to check out what’s in store.

Privateer Press Ends Pressgang Program

Normally we’re posting about companies starting up volunteer programs. This one’s the other side of the spectrum. Privateer Press has announced that their Pressgang program is coming to a close. I was never a PG. I actually had my application rejected 😛
But I was a Mentor and then a Moderator for the PP forums, and most of my friends I have now I got through my time with Privateer. So, it’s sad to see the program go.

Privateer Press Launches Community Integrated Development Program

When it comes to the games we love, we can be very protective of them. While every new release may give you some great, balanced, interesting new cards/models/dice for your game, there’s also the worry that a new set of releases will break the game. So, how does a company make sure that new releases are balanced? Playtesting, of course. But for playtesting to be effective, you need a large sample size of game situations to sift through. Privateer Press has decided that will be done through their Community Integrated Development Program, which has just launched.

Podcast Roundup

It’s another Tuesday. My week’s gone rather well. I got some Pathfinder books in the mail, and some packages I’d sent out to gaming friends got there safe and sound. But, as always, I’m looking forward to the weekend. Though, in this instance, I hope the week doesn’t go by too quick. Why? Because I’m busy as a one-armed paper hanger over here. Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes for things. I need all the time I can get right now. But while I’m working on all those things, I can still enjoy some gaming podcasts such as these…
