Panda Cult Games

Sometimes, a Kickstarter doesn't quite start off as a company would want. The backers point out a few things that could make everything better, and it's just best to stop the current campaign and get a new one. That's what's happened with Shovel Knight: Dungeon Duels from Panda Cult. They have taken a look at the campaign, thought some stuff over, and relaunched, including a new pledge level that's got standees instead of miniatures to cut down on the SRP.

That uppity knight went and hit me over the head with a shovel. But, I mean, he's a Shovel Knight, so what did you expect. And you, too, can take up your mighty shovel and dispatch evil in Shovel Knight: Dungeon Duels, a new board game from Panda Cult Games based on the cult hit video game from Yacht Club Games. Send a wire to the main office and tell them that I said, "ow!"

Who you gonna call?

The Men in Black, of course. Or maybe the Ghostbusters. Or... I know... BOTH! That's what you'll be doing in Men In Black/Ghostbusters: Ecto-terrestrial Invasion, a new game coming from IDW and Panda Cult that joins these two franchises together for the first time.

It happens to many of us. We miss out on a Kickstarter campaign. There's many potential reasons for it. Maybe you had an unexpected charge come in. Or just too many other Kickstarters going at once. Or you just flat-out missed it was going on. Thankfully, the late-pledge time for campaigns has given many people who would otherwise have missed out another chance. And that's just what you've got now with the Wander: the Cult of Barnacle Bay Kickstarter. Late pledges just opened up.
While Heath "BA" Foley has been around in the gaming world for quite some time as an artist now, this is his first year as a game designer with Panda Cult Games. They had their successful Kickstarter campaign for Wander earlier. And now they've got their own Black Friday Sale coming this weekend. Be sure to check it out.
It's halfway over. The work week is about half-done for most of us. With any luck, you're looking forward to a weekend of gaming. I might be doing some of that. But I can guarantee that I'll be doing some baking. Actually, that'll start tomorrow. We're having a chili and dessert cook-off here at the office on Friday. Then, over the weekend, I need to "pay for" a custom game mat design a friend did by baking him some of his favorite treats and sending them off. Hey, the barter system is alive and well among my friends. You do some graphic design for me and I'll bake cookies and brownies for you. But before we get to those bite-size treats, let's nosh on some bite-size gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Final Days for Cult of Barnacle Bay on Kickstarter, MASK FX Camouflage tape is back, 17 New Releases Available From Dark Sword Miniatures, New Void Elves Available From Raging Heroes, New Orc Mechanic Available From Kromlech, and Voting For Round 1 of Iron Painter Happening Now.

The Kickstarter campaign for Wander: The Cult of Barnacle Bay is doing well. They've made it over their funding goal and are working their way through stretch goals. To help with that, they've added on some add-ons, letting you get alternate heroes, extra dice, and (once they get there) a new expansion set.
You all probably know that one of my favorite artists out there is Heath "BA" Foley. I like his art so much, I got a piece permanently attached to my arm. Well, him and another couple good friends of mine are running their Kickstarter campaign for Wander: the Cult of Barnacle Bay. It's a cooperative dungeon crawl board game where players are looking to root out the nefarious cult and their twisted and deformed monsters from Barnacle Bay.
Once more it's early in the A.M. and I'm up. That's just my schedule. But I've got another batch of galleries to show off from Day 2 of Gen Con. Remember, the best way to see these immediately is to follow us over on our Facebook page. Anyway, let's get to it!
It's never good when a cult leader moves into town. Things start getting weird. Dark magic starts to take over, and mutations and various corruptions start manifesting in the populace. What that town needs is some heroes to come in and save the day. That's just what you'll be doing in Panda Cult Games' board game Wander: The Cult of Barnacle Bay. They've posted up a look at the box art, as well as a short video showing off some of the enemy miniature sculpts.
So, unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it out to Adepticon last weekend like I'd've liked. But that's life. But, when you get lemons, make lemonade. I got in touch with the folks over there and they hooked me up with a treasure trove of preview material. We've got character art. We've got stat cards. We've got equipment cards. There's some photos of the new Otter Fisherman, too. It's quite a lot and it all looks awesome.
