Not to say that I like when I see Kickstarters not do well, by any stretch. But I am heartened when I see a campaign that was struggling look at making a fresh start, reconfigure some, and get back into the swing of things with a new campaign that does just fantastically well. Outer Limit Games redid their Kickstarter campaign for Trench, making it much easier to see what you’re getting, and relaunched. This new campaign funded in just 3 hours.
I am a fan of abstract strategy games. I also have an interest in WWI. Well, mix those two together and you get Trench, a new strategy board game that’s up on Kickstarter now. Take control of your army and maneuver your way across the diamond-shaped board and to the other side of the trench that divides it. Capture your opponent’s pieces and press on to victory.
The galaxy’s a large place. You’d think it’d be big enough for everyone. But when it comes to megacorporations, there’s only room for one. Take to the stars and assert your dominance in Traders – Homeworld: Exterra Edition, the new deck-building card game from Outer Limit Games. The game is up on Kickstarter now.
While a lot of projects on Kickstarter do just fine their first time out, many fail to meet the mark, or some sort of issue arises and the designers decide to wait and relaunch later. Often, that second time around the campaign is much more widely followed and it can often surpass expectations. Well, Outer Limit Games has relaunched their Kickstarter campaign for Tau Ceti: Planetary Crisis. It’s already funded.
We’re halfway there, ladies and gentlemen. Halfway to the weekend. If you haven’t started making plans, now would be a good time. For those of you in the US, the 4th of July is Saturday. I’m sure cookouts will abound. And if you’re at one, why not bring along a game or two to play? There’s plenty of party games that would be most welcome at just about any gathering.
For me? I’m going to keep things low-key this weekend. I had two rather busy weekends in a row. So this weekend I’m going to stay at home and cook. What am I going to cook? … I’ve not figured that out yet. Suggestions would be welcome (and any accompanying recipes also welcome).
But as for right now, it’s time for some bite-sized stories.
This batch includes: Fury is funded with 24 day left, Some More Installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, New 32mm Resin bases (Tomb, Urban & Sci-fi Deck) from Dark Art Miniatures, Armorcast’s 4th Annual Cinematic Effects Contest is Here, Apex TDBG Expansion Kickstarter is now EU Friendly, Club Fantasci Editorial: Kickstarter Press Releases and Free Promotion, Old Dominion Gameworks posts Post Captain Bonus Ship files, Vending Bot free for July at The Ion Age, and Bullets & Brains Tokens Now Available from Sally 4th.
Space. The final … umm… place-to-explore-thing… Hey, it’s Monday after a convention. Give me a bit. Words are hard sometimes.
Anyway, Outer Limit (man, should’ve made a reference to that) Games has launched their Kickstarter campaign for Tau Ceti, their new space-exploration/conquest/civilization building game. Players must expand their race’s territory and economy, even as the unseen force of the Planetary Crisis is crushing the economy of entire star systems.
Hey everybody! (Hey Louie!) CMON Expo 2015 is in full swing. Yesterday was fantastic and today is only going to build on that excitement. There’s a lot planned for today, mostly (at least for me and Jared) the various panels. Be sure to check back throughout the day for reports from those panels. We’ve seen a sort of “Sneak peek of the sneak peeks” and you’ll be excited, I’m sure.
But for the moment let’s give you the review articles we’ve found over the course of the week.
In this batch we have reviews/previews of: Tau Ceti: Planetary Crisis, Indigo, Fidelitas,Yggdrasil, Forge War, Alchemists, Apotheca, Buy the Rights, Nations: The Dice Game, Reign: The Card Game, Machi Koro’s Harbor Expansion, and Forbidden Stars.
Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope the week has been treating you well. I’ve… actually been sick this week. Don’t worry, I’ve made sure to disinfect every post just before it goes up, so you shouldn’t catch anything.
Anyway, we’ve collected the various bite-sized stories that we’ve come across recently and present them to you now.
