In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, there is only a bunch of crazy weirdos running around, fighting aliens, collecting crazy gear, and trying to get to Level 10 first. Steve Jackson Games has announced a partnership with Games Workshop to bring you Munchkin: Warhammer 40,000.

Go! Go! Power Rangers! *rocking guitar solo*
One of the most-popular kids shows for years, the Power Rangers will soon be heading to your tabletops, complements of Renegade Game Studios. They've announced Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid. Just remember that too much pink energy is dangerous.

It's Friday, and many of you up in Indianapolis, enjoying Gen Con. Remember, if you are there, do the "Gen Con 3, 2, 1". Every 24 hours, get at least: 3 hours of sleep, 2 meals, and 1 shower. Remember, those are minimums. Increase totals as required. And have some snacks on hand. I like to snack on bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: New Orlock Weapon Upgrades Available From Forge World, Fantastical Sub-Saharan Miniatures Kickstarter Relaunched by Deraj Studios, and New Statuesque Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW - Berets on sale at 10% off.

Part of me wanted to channel the Star Wars Holiday Special and have the opening to this story be nothing but grunts, hoots, roars, and howls, but I eventually decided against it. Instead, I'll just let you know that Fantasy Flight has announced a pair of wookie releases for Star Wars: Legion. One's the Wookie Warriors unit, and the other is the most-famous wookie there is, (oooooooooooh) Chewbacca! (What a wookie!)

I love abstract puzzle games. Ask me to name my favorite board game and I'll tell you that it's Blokus. So seeing a new one making its way to American shores, I'm intrigued. Passtally is a big hit over in Japan, and now Pandasaurus will be bringing it over to an English-speaking audience. Players place tiles in order to create pathways, but you can stack the tiles, creating new routes over existing ones.

Those of you that are up in Indy get a chance to pick up the newest releases before the rest of us do. Those that stop by the Cryptozoic booth, for example, have a chance to get the DC Deck-Building Game's latest pack, the Crisis Expansion Pack 4. It adds new cooperative play, as well as Unity cards. Take a look for yourself.

Steamforged is looking to become "The company that makes games based on popular video game series" it seems. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with that (though the last video game I played regularly was FFXII, so I'm totally out of the loop about these properties). They've got Dark Souls. They've got Resident Evil. Now they're headed to Horizon Zero Dawn. They've announced a new board game based on it, as well as shown off a pair of mini renders.

With the new edition of the X-Wing Miniatures Game coming, the Resistance and the New Order are breaking off into their own factions. No longer simply part of the Rebels and the Imperials, respectively, these new factions are in need of a bit of a leg-up in defining what makes them unique and not just a sub-set of a previously larger set of ships. Fantasy Flight has new Conversion Kits coming that'll help you sort that all out. Also, a new Scum & Villainy variant of the TIE is up for preview.

You've delved the dungeons. You've faced off against the mummy. You've collected the treasure in deep space. You've done it all. But now there's new treasures on the horizon. Renegade Game Studio has announced a new expansion pack for their original Clank! deck-building board game. It's Clank! Expeditions: Gold and Silk, and it's a new map and some new meeples to bring to your games.

Every ship needs a captain. Same can be said for a Guild Ball team. In this case, the two are the same person. Windfinder is the Navigator's Guild captain both aboard the ship and on the pitch. The captain also tends to define how the team works. So, how do the Navigators work? Let's take a look.

Relative to most species, humans are pretty new on the Earth. As such, we're still often just trying to find our way around, while the forest animals help guide and teach us. It's the intelligent person that listens to the wise animals about what they should do. And that's where you find yourself in Bumuntu, a new board game coming from WizKids.

Richard Garfield might be best known for making Magic: The Gathering, but there's a lot of other games he's worked on. And he's still out there making more. Fantasy Flight has just announced a new title he's been working on, and they're ready to start taking pre-orders. It's called Keyforge, and it's the world's first Unique Deck game. Yes, each and every deck out there will be different from the others. How does that work? Well... I'm not entirely sure. Let's read on to find out.

Friday Eve.
Though I know most of you are like, "Friday Eve nothing, it's the first day of Gen Con!"
Yes, well, it is that, too. It's also time to get your gaming tables looking good.

People love to talk about hypothetical situations and see how things would turn out. Like, who would win a race between the Batmobile and the Delorean from Back to the Future? What if the Batmobile were being driven by Elliot and E.T. and the Delorean was driven by Lara Croft? Would that change things? That's the sort of stuff you can find out in Hollywood Death Race, a new game coming to Kickstarter this October from Mangrove Games.

WizKids will soon be coming out with Magic: The Gathering: Heroes of Dominaria, their new board game set in the iconic land of Dominaria. They're coming out with two versions of the game, too. One's got everything you need to play and such. The other has all the same, except that the four figures from the set are fully painted right out of the box.

Playtesting is a vital part of any game's development. Something might seemingly work as-written, but once you get to the table and start trying to work with it, you might find the rules clunky or unclear or in other need for refining. With a game as beloved and big as Pathfinder, Paizo wants to make sure that when the new edition hits shelves, it's as perfect as it can be. So that's why they're enlisting your help. You've seen the previews, now get the materials and see how they work for yourselves. The Pathfinder 2.0 Playtest is on.

I really missed out, naming this another Year of New Editions months ago, but it's certainly seeming like it's the case. In this instance, 3rd time's the charm as Fantasy Flight has announced a 3rd edition of the classic Arkham Horror game. Hard to believe the first version came out in 1987.

Two warriors enter. One warrior leaves... ... maybe. In Nexus, two gladiators are locked in life-or-death combat. However, it's not just some sandy pit they've been tossed into. This arena is alive and it's not going to make things easy for either combatant. With traps, snares, pits, and all manner of horrific things that can happen, even the victor is not assured to make it out alive. The game is up on Kickstarter now.

#NoSuchThingAsTooManyDice
That’s my honest belief. I mean… I guess if you’re not able to feed or clothe yourself, but you’re buying more dice, that might be too many, but until you reach that point, you can never have enough. A couple months back, people were talking about a website that’ll show you exactly how much money you’d spent on Steam over the years. They were lamenting the thousands of dollars they’d spent. I don’t have a Steam account… but I do have bags and bags and bags of dice. One company I’ve been following a lot lately has been Kraken Dice (I’m sure you’ve all probably noticed). Well, waaaaaay back, I got their Iconic Blue 1 set, one of their first limited edition sets. Well, I just got my Iconic Blue 2 set. And since I did a review of IB1, let’s do a review of IB2.

So, it’s time for another TGN Review. This time, it’s Iconic Blue 2 from Kraken Dice.

And we have another for you. CMON's really grown over the years I've been with the company. From one booth of moderate size to a really big booth filled with all sorts of stuff, with games seemingly bursting at the seams. What sort of things can you expect to see there this year? Thankfully, they've got a primer for you all set to go.

Well, this is an interesting pairing that I didn't see coming. Privateer Press, makers of such games as Warmachine and Hordes, is teaming up with Fantasy Flight Games to bring you a new subscription box service (via their Minicrate service) that will include figures from the Legend of the Five Rings universe.
Perfect for use with the L5R RPG that's coming out as well.
