Friday of a 3-day weekend! WOOOOOOO!!!
I’ve already been seeing quite a lot of pictures from downtown as many of my friends make their way to Dragon*Con. But that’s far from the only convention going on this weekend. It seems like there’s like 4-5 of them going on. So, if you want to get your gaming on, you can certainly find a place to do it. Mine will likely be at my place or a friend’s house (no, I don’t want to fight the traffic downtown, thakyouverymuch). But whatever you do, you should stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Gaddis Gaming TableTopper 2.0 on Kickstarter, Precision Pivoting Arcs Up On Kickstarter, New Legionary Hunter Pattern Jump Packs From Kromlech, New Chaos Legionary Maces Available From Kromlech, and Menhir Games Previews Unnatural: Horror Creatures Kickstarter.
Much of the week was going along just fine. But I don’t know why, but I felt like yesterday should’ve been Thursday already. I mean, I was in my Wednesday shirt and all, and the first part of the week seemed to be moving along at a normal pace. But then… yeah, didn’t we just do Thursday yesterday? Apparently not, because today’s Thursday. And that means we need to make your gaming tables look as good as possible.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Menhir Games Posts The Reinforced Concrete Bunker Kickstarter preview, Pwork Wargames Fantasy Football Mats Now Available, New Game mats for Runewars from Deep-Cut Studio, Heroic Maps – Modular Kit: Dark Starship Corridors Now Available, and Miniature Building Authority is out of the 15mm market.
We’re rocketing our way through this week. I thought weeks before a holiday were supposed to drag on. But that has definitely not been the case. Labor Day Weekend is coming up and that, for those that live in Atlanta, means Dragon Con. I guess it means that for anyone, but especially for those of us here in Atlanta. 400-southbound is generally busy as I’m driving north on my way to the office. Today it was a parking lot, even at 6:15am. I’m sure it’ll be that way tomorrow, too, as everyone heads downtown for the party. From what I hear, though, there’s already plenty of partying going on, even last night.
But that’s not what we’re here for. We’re here to make your gaming table look awesome. We’re here for our Terrain Corner piece.
Today’s entries include: Impudent Mortal Entry Level 28mm and 15mm Terrain System on Kickstarter, Idyllwild Games Dark Age Outpost Up On Kickstarter, and Miniature Building Authority’s KickStarter begins on September 7th.
And since nobody gives a damn about what I’m doing and would rather just have me shut up get on with the stories, that’s what I’m going to do.
(I’m joking. Take it easy.)
Today’s Terrain Corner includes: Heroic Maps – Storeys: Orsagrigg’s Tower, Menhir Games Kickstarter 28mm Dark Age Outpost Plastic Kit Coming Next Month, Amera Plastic Mouldings New 3 Piece Island Set, and Sally 4th Terrain Deals for ‘Soldiers of God’ wargaming the Crusades.
Seriously, is the week just chugging along for the rest of you, too?
It is for me. Seems just yesterday I was working on stuff for Monday. Now it’s already Wednesday. I guess being ridiculobusy before Gen Con will do that to you.
As usual for a Wednesday, we’ve got our collection of bite-sized stories for your enjoyment.
In this batch we have: Some more installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Acheson Creations Releases four new Rabbithole Series Game Pieces, New Dwarf Engineer from Titan-Forge, Skirmish Outbreak Rager Figures to be released at Gen Con, New previews for Human Interface – Nakamura Tower, Menhir Games: New Characters 3D renders for 28mm fantasy, Abba Games Announces Portal of Morth Tower Defense Dice Game, and Simple System Offers Refunds to physical-level Kickstarter Backers.
We’ve made it to another Wednesday. The previous weekend is as far away as the next one is. Some comment about camels.
Hopefully the week has been treating you well.
Anyway, we’ve got some of those bite-sized stories to give you. In this installment there’s: Angry Mojo Games opens up Webshop, Brigade Models Releases New British Spaceships, Menhir Games posts new renders for KStarter stretch goals, Beasties & Bygones posts Jester Class preview, Quantum Gothic re-releases Quantum Cannon and Sentry-platform twin gun systems/rocket v1, some more sessions of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, New Army Men Combat Update from One Page Rules, Acheson Creations Releases new Skull Tower, 15mm Hades Ghost Team has been released by ClearHorizon Miniatures, Manorhouse Workshop Update #20 Modular Underground Project, and EZPainter Price adjustments.
Fantasy Champions set two is now up on Kickstarter. After a first, successful Kickstarter campaign, Nick Ryan and Menhir Games are at it again with a whole new group of minis. An interesting part of this campaign is that when you get your mini, you’ll also get the 3D files for it, so you can print out your figure in a different scale, if you so choose (if you have a 3D printer, yourself, or you can take it to one of the many 3D printing services that are popping up these days).
The campaign’s a little over half-funded with still 25 days to go.

Menhir Games launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund their new line of Fantasy Champion miniatures, with themes taken from ancient cultures from all over the world.
From the campaign:
This campaign’s minimum funding goal of $4000 will be used to produce 4 heroes in white metal (pewter) for 28mm -non heroic- scale wargaming. Accompanying the main goal, there are 8 more potential heroes to be produced as stretch goals plus an extra 13th exclusive miniature that will be free for all of the pledges levels.
The miniatures will come with 25mm round AND square metal bases specially designed for these miniatures, or to use with other characters. They have a small area in which you can write the name of your character and exalt them to that hero level! Update #1: Backers can now choose from a 25mm round base OR a 30mm round base, along with the 25mm square base as usual.
The entire line consists of 22 heroes who will be produced over time. All of them are part of Menhir Game’s fantasy world background in which further miniatures and rules for wargaming as well as detailed settings for RPG games, will be released.
