Seeing as there will be tens of thousands of gamers all stacked one on top of the other in a week and a half in Indianapolis, game companies would be wise to bring out new products to show off, particularly if they’re going to be seeking funding for said projects later in the year. Well, the people at Mythic Games are wise, and so they will be showing off Mythic Battles: Pantheon, at the show.

Acrobatica Infiniti Circus Coming To Gen Con

And now for something completely different.
While much of the focus of Gen Con is on the vendor’s hall or maybe the tournaments for your favorite games or the gaming hall with all the demos and open gaming space, there’s about a zillion other things that are going on during the weekend. Making a return this year is the Acrobatica Infiniti Circus. It’s cool acrobatic acts but with a distinctly nerdy twist.

Nebula Valley has been going through some rather tough times. For many years, it was overcome by darkness and evil. The town within the valley suffered greatly. But things are looking up. Evil has been vanquished. The hero rode off into the sunset. But that doesn’t mean everything’s been magically put back together. No, that’s going to take some more hard work from all the villagers. And that’s just what you’ve gotta do in Via Nebula. Asmodee’s posted up a new preview of the game as well as an announcement about picking up the game at Gen Con.

CMON to Publish Cthulhu in the House

One of the comics I’ve read for longer than pretty much any other is Dork Tower. I remember getting some compilation issue decades ago and carrying it around with me in my gaming backpack. I think it finally disintegrated a couple years back. So I love seeing when John Kovalic has a new game coming out. Such is the case with Cthulhu in the House, a game that CoolMiniOrNot will be publishing soon.

Plaid Hat Games Announces Ashes Gen Con Cosplay Contest

I do greatly appreciate a well-done cosplay (or even not-so-well-done). It’s just another aspect of our hobby, really. It takes a lot of time, research, skill, and dedication. Certainly it takes a lot more work than I’ve ever considered putting into it. Though if I could, I certainly would. But that’s beside the point, Plaid Hat Games wants to congratulate those that work hard at making those costumes by running a Cosplay contest at Gen Con.

Gen Con Interview with Justin Gary of Stone Blade Entertainment

Day 1 of Gen Con has been an absolute whirlwind. It feels like 3 days have already gone by. But no, it’s just one. The show is a great time to sit down with some of the game companies in attendance and find out what they’ve been working on. One that I’ve been visiting a couple years in a row has been Justin Gary, the President of Stone Blade Entertainment (SBE). Ascension is on of my favorite games and one that I play most-often. So it’s always great to try and pry bits of information about what’s coming up for it. But it’s not just Ascension this year from Stone Blade. We’ve got Bad Beets. Not only did I get a little info about the game, I got a full demo. Check out below to see how the game plays.
