Asmodee Digital Creating Video Version of Mansions of Madness

Several of my friends are huge fans of Mansions of Madness. However, it’s a game that has a bit of a notorious reputation in terms of set-up time. Having a digital version of it would really cure a lot of those issues. Well, your prayers have been answered, as Asmodee Digital is working on a digital version of the game.

Fantasy Flight Games Previews the Regions and NPCs in Realms of Terrinoth

Game worlds are not just right where the PCs are. There’s all manner of things going on all over. And when the players go to new locations, the GM has to be ready for what the terrain is like, what the map shows, and some people who live there. That’s what we get a look at in this preview of the upcoming Realms of Terrinoth book from Fantasy Flight Games.

New Expansions Announced For Imperial Assault

Some people might’ve thought that since Fantasy Flight came out with Star Wars: Legion, that maybe Imperial Assault would get left behind. It does seem like it’s been a while since the last expansion came out, but that will soon change. Fantasy Flight’s announced the Tyrants of Lothal expansion, as well as several Ally and Villain packs.

Fantasy Flight Previews General Veers Expansion for Star Wars: Legion

General Veers is probably my favorite character from Star Wars. For all the series tells us that the Empire is cold, ruthless, and efficient, it’s at the battle of Hoth that we finally really see it. Veers commands that battle brilliantly, taking out key parts of the Rebel’s base and causing a rather quick and panicked evacuation for the forces stationed there. Soon, he’ll be able to bring that to your tabletops in Star Wars: Legion.

Fantasy Flight Previews the Investigators of Sanctum of Twilight

It seems that Arkham just can’t catch a break. If it’s not ancient horrors looking to rend the living world asunder, it’s a local group trying to influence things. In this case, though, the local group is the Order of the Silver Twilight, a very wealthy and powerful club. This is going to be a lot more delicate an operation than the Investigators have handled before. And it’s a preview of those Investigators coming in the Sanctum of Twilight expansion for Mansions of Madness that we get here.

Fantasy Flight Announces New Star Wars: Legion Expansions

In the base game for Star Wars: Legion, the Imperials get themselves the iconic Speeder Bikes from the battle of Endor. In the expansions that are out, they can pick up an AT-ST, also from that same battle. However, the Rebels don’t have much in the way of Endor-related figures. That will soon change, as Fantasy Flight has announced the Han Solo as well as the Rebel Strike Team expansion kits.

Monday Terrain Corner

Aaaaaaand we loop around to Monday.
No, I’m not really a fan of it, either. But, that’s the way the world works. We can still try and make the most of it by thinking about next weekend and the gaming that will (hopefully) be had. And with that gaming probably comes terrain.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Lord of the Rings Playmats Available From Fantasy Flight and New official Frostgrave Mat Available From Pwork Wargame.

Thursday Terrain Corner

It’s slow going, ladies and gentlemen, but we’ll make it to that weekend eventually! I mean, time goes forward, right? Right?!
I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m waiting on some packages in the mail, but it seems like this week’s taking an eternity. The last couple zipped by. This week? Not so much. But we just gotta hang on and we’ll make it there.
Plus, this weekend is Board Game Day up at the library. And while most don’t use much in the way of terrain, that doesn’t mean we can’t all enjoy terrain for whatever games you might be playing this weekend.

Today in the Terrain Corner, we have: Fantasy Flight Games Announces Two New Game Mats For Star Wars: Legion and New MDF Scenery Kits From Pwork Wargame.

Monday Terrain Corner

Hey everyone out there in Internet Land. For those here in the States (besides Florida), how’re you handling the time change? Being a morning person already, it wasn’t so bad for me. I actually felt that much of yesterday was later than it actually was (so, the opposite of what you’d expect). I’d be going, “wait, it’s not 4:30 yet?” when it was actually something like 1:30. But I’m getting the hang of it. Anyway, we need to make sure your gaming tables look good.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Fantasy Flight Games Announces Priority Supplies and Barricades for Star Wars: Legion, North Pass Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, The Lost Islands 3D printable Terrain for RPG and Wargames Up On Kickstarter, and The Hall of Portals Gaming Map Available From Heroic Maps.

So, you’ve got your Vader and you’ve got your AT-ST and you’ve got your Speeder Bikes and you’ve got your Stormtroopers… but how do you turn that into an actual army in Star Wars: Legion? That’s what we get a look at today from Fantasy Flight. They’ve posted up an article about how army building works in the game. And down at the bottom of the page, they’ve also got links to the Learn to Play guide as well as the Rules Reference. So there’s that, too.

You ever have one of those days where you wake up, get going with doing things, then look at the clock and are like, “Whoah! It’s already 7pm!! How’d that happen!?!” Yeah, that was my yesterday. I woke the same as any other day except a voice was in my head… Ok, no voices in my head, but I did get started on various things, then realized that goddamn, it was late! So you didn’t get your reviews yesterday. So I’m making up for it by posting them early today. Don’t worry, this won’t become a regular thing.

Anyway, today we have: Elder Sign: Omens of the Pharaoh, Zombicide: Green Horde, Batman: Gotham City Chronicles, Listit, Draconis Invasion, Dice Throne, Palm Island, City of Gears, Stuffed Fables, Pandemic: Rising Tide, V-Commandos: Secret Weapons, Planet of the Apes, Indian Summer, When I Dream, and Gaia Project.

Fantasy Flight Games Announces Star Wars: Legion Launch Day Events

Star Wars: Legion was arguably the biggest announcement at Gen Con 2017. Since August, everyone has been chomping at the bit to get their hands on the game. The wait’s almost over, as sets will be hitting shops in less than a month. And Fantasy Flight wants to make sure that when you go pick up your minis, there’s a whole celebration behind it. They’ve announced Launch Day Events to add even more excitement to March 22nd.

Fantasy Flight Previews 74-Z Speeder Bikes For Star Wars: Legion

For the longest time, the speeder bike chase on Endor was my favorite part of Star Wars (later usurped by the Battle of Hoth, because I’d seen Jedi about a dozen times before I’d seen Empire). Soon, we’ll be able to recreate that exciting battle on our tabletops with the 74-Z Speeder Bikes for Star Wars: Legion. Just watch out for trees.

Review Roundup

It’s Saturday and I’m painting minis.
… I’m not good at painting minis…
But, y’know, it’s just about getting the colored goop on the figure. I’m not going to be winning any Golden Demons or Crystal Brushes, but hey… they’ll be painted.

But while the last color dries, I’m gonna post your reviews for you.

Today we have: War of Supremacy, Laruna: Age of Kingdoms, Harvest Dice, Ex Libris, Legacy of Dragonholt, Boom Blast Stix, A Column of Fire, Cytosis, Dream Catchers, Arkon, Fabled Fruit, Queendomino, and Clans of Caledonia.

Dawn of Rebellion Sourcebook Now Available For the Star Wars RPG

At the end of the first three movies (number-wise, not release-wise) in Star Wars, Emperor Palpatine has seized power and is ruling the galaxy with an iron fist. Very quickly, those that want the Republic back form a resistance movement that would be known as the Rebellion. But that early start wasn’t easy. The Dawn of Rebellion book for the Star Wars RPG takes you to those difficult days. It’s available now.

It’s President’s Day here in the States. That means that many people are off of work. Hey, at least that means clearer roads around here today. I can certainly dig that.

Fantasy Flight Previews AT-RT For Star Wars: Legion

While we never see the Rebels using the AT-RT in the classic trilogy of Star Wars films, it was a piece of equipment that they could’ve possibly picked up, as we see Clone Troopers using them in the prequel trilogy. Not as heavily armed or armored as the AT-ST, the vehicle still gave some added protection to its rider, as well as some powerful weapons that a regular soldier wouldn’t’ve been able to carry on their own. They’ll be making their way to Star Wars: Legion, and Fantasy Flight is giving you a preview.

Draft Packs Now Available For Star Wars: Destiny

I love draft events. Sure, there’s something to creating a deck ahead of time and making sure it’s as tightly-wound as you can. But there’s also something to flying by the seat of your pants, making your deck from a limited set of cards and having to use only your wits and skill to make it through. Star Wars: Destiny has new draft packs that you can use to have some cool events with.

It feels like an eternity ago when Star Wars: Legion was announced at Gen Con. You’ve spent many long months waiting, anticipating, reading previews, watching videos. Maybe you’re even one of the lucky few who got a chance to try it way back in August. Well, the wait is getting shorter all the time, and if you want to get a hands-on experience with the game, you’re only 3 weeks (and change) out from doing so if your LGS is one of the lucky ones who will get to start showing demos of the product on March 8th.

Fantasy Flight Announces Knights of Fate Book For Star Wars RPG

I mean, it’s called Star Wars, not Star Sit and Talk It Out. The Knights of Fate book, coming soon for the Star Wars RPG, gives players more options for combat-oriented characters. Fantasy Flight Previews Command Cards From Star Wars: Legion

Commanders in an army are the ones who give orders to the lower-ranking soldiers. These orders are represented in Star Wars: Legion, by you moving the figures around the board, but also by the Command Cards. They determine who will have priority during a turn, being played at the start of each. There are some that are neutral, and can be used by either army. But some are specific to the Dark or Light sides. You get a look at several of these in this preview.

Fantasy Flight Games Previews Campaign Mode in Masks of Nyarlathotep

But, if we don’t want all our brains to melt from insanity, you’ve gotta keep doing your job as Investigators. In the Masks of Nyarlathotep expansion for Eldritch Horror, Fantasy Flight introduces a new Campaign Mode for the game. Can you make it through 6 missions in a row?

Fantasy Flight Previews the Rebel Troopers Unit Expansion for Star Wars: Legion

And, I mean, the Rebels are getting a new ship, too, but c’mon. It’s not an ISD with an all-new paint job and one of the most-loved characters ever from the Star Wars extended universe. I’m probably gonna pick one up just to have that cool ISD mini.
