Man, it is busy over here on this side of the screen. Pretty much all week there’s been stuff going on. I’m sure that’s part of why it feels like it’s really flown by… And I’ve still not really gotten a handle on what I’m going to do with my D&D group tomorrow! Gah! There’ll be time for that later (hopefully, theoretically, grammatically, esoterically). But, if we’re to keep up our energy, we should nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Avignon: Pilgrimage Coming To Kickstarter in January, CloseYa network is open for a public beta in US, WW1 Themed Dice to be released in January from I Will Never Grow Up, Aenor Miniatures website Online, Week 3 December Deals Available From Greater Than Games, Merry Bitsmass Weekend Promo from Kromlech, and 3D Preview Posted For Ether Wars.
Not every Kickstarter is successful the first time around. Some people would say, “well, you didn’t make it the first time. I guess you’re finished.” I say, “Nay nay!” (RIP John Pinette) Many Kickstarter campaigns start out with their first project not making it. But after some refining, retooling, and reconfiguring, they relaunch and can come out further ahead than they ever had dreamed with the first campaign. Will that happen with Ether Wars? Only with your help. They’re back up on Kickstarter now.
At once, it feels both like, “wow. Already Wednesday?” and “wow. How is it only Wednesday?”
Is it that way for anyone else or just me?
I feel like I’ve gotten a lot done, but have a lot more waiting ahead of me.
Ah well. We’ll make it. Break on through to the other side. To help with that, here’s a bunch of bite-sized gaming stories.

Saturday night’s alright for gaming. Well, all of Saturday is alright for gaming, really. At the time this posts, there might or might not be a TPK happening. For my player’s sake, hopefully they’ll not just “charge at the enemy” as their go-to strategy. But… that’s PCs for you.
But that’s as may be. In the meantime, we’ve got a collection of review articles we’ve collected from the week.
This week’s batch of reviews/previews includes: Homeland: The Game, Monstrous, Welcome to the Dungeon, Dimension, Ether Wars, Immortal, Sultan’s Library, and Forbidden Stars.
Ether Dev is running a Kickstarter campaign for Ether Wars, their new sci-fi board game. In Ether Wars, four races have headed out amongst the stars, each one vying to become the most powerful of all in the galaxy. It takes inspiration from numerous sources, including both RTS and MOBA-style video games. The game is also dice-driven, with quite a few custom dice as part of the game. The designers worked long and hard to make a game that has deep tactical depth, where you can change your strategy at a moment’s notice in order to throw off your opponents, as there’s more than one way to achieve ultimate victory. A cunning player can manipulate just about any aspect of the game.
