Review Roundup

Hey there, everyone. I hope you’re all having a great Saturday. I just got back from the grocery store (I’m typing this up a decent amount earlier than it is set to go live) so I can get ready to have some company over for a low-key Halloween party. I’m making cookies, chocolate-coated peanut butter balls, and gumbo. Should be a good time. I’m sure a lot of you have somewhat similar plans.

As for the moment, though, before I dive into a bit of last-minute cleaning and then work on cooking, let’s get you those gaming reviews I know you all so desperately desire.

This week we have: Bankers and Robbers, Dungeon Saga, Harry Potter Deck-Building Game, Conquest Games’ Medieval Archers, Mysterium, Aeon’s End, Love Letter: Premium Edition, Mortem Et Gloriam, The Networks, Eclipse: Shadow of the Rift, Tumult Royale, Necronomicards, Cthulhu Crusades, and Loony Quest.

Review Roundup

It’s that time again, everyone. It’s Saturday. When you read this, it’ll be at least 2pm, Eastern. But for me, currently, it’s 5:30am. I’ve got a group of friends coming over for some gaming starting at 9am and have a bunch to get done before that. We’ll probably get in some Ascension, Blokus, maybe Dogs of War. All good stuff. Also, we’ll probably talk about characters for a D&D game that’s starting to coalesce. But that’s as may be, in the meantime, I need to type up your Review Roundup for the day.

Today we have: Arcadia Quest, The Pioneers Program, Dungeon Saga, The Hunt for the Ring, Tripods & Triplanes, Brides & Bribes, Terraforming Mars, Guild Ball, Cry Havoc, Flip City and Flip City: Reuse, Steam Time, M.U.L.E., Brick Party, and Snowdonia.

Dungeon Saga Now Available From Mantic Games

Mantic is pleased to announce that Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King’s Quest is now available. It’s also out of stock. Well… sorta. They don’t have any more sets, themselves, in their webshop (though they’re getting more in sometime in January, and pre-orders are up for that). However, there are sets available at fine gaming retailers near you (probably near you, anyway).

Photo Galleries from Day 2 of Gen Con

Day 2 is about to be in the books (as it’s only got about 15min. left and then I’m going to go to sleep). It was quite a wild and busy Friday. The frantic-ness of Thursday turned into a more calm, but no less busy Friday. Everyone was buzzing about the games that they’d picked up the day before or tried overnight.

I, of course, once more made my rounds of the place and got some galleries of photos over on the TGN Facebook page.

We’ve just broken 3850 backers – awesome!

That means that we’ve unlocked:
– 2 scenarios to your Kickstarter Exclusive Dungeon Journal that sees our heroes take on the mighty Greenskins!

This bodes very well for the rest of the day. Those Molochs are looking very achievable indeed!

Mantic is in their final week for Dungeon Saga over on Kickstarter. They’re keeping the heat going with their Infernal Crypts add-on and other demon-y goodness.

Retailer Support added to Dungeon Saga Kickstarter

Mantic is adding in retailer support for their Dungeon Saga Kickstarter. Got a game shop? Go check it out.

From the announcement:

Just a quick note to say we’ve added retailer support to the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter.
We love adding retailer support to our Kickstarters, as we work with and enjoy meeting a great range of gaming stores, comic book stores and other stockists. This, and our Pathfinders are part of the support we offer local stores, but if there’s anything else we might be able to do for you, please do get in touch!

As it’s designed for retailers, it does carry a standard discount, plus five percent extra, as it’s Kickstarter. For that reason, we do ask you get in touch and we’ll get the ball rolling.

Mantic updates about Dungeon Saga Kickstarter as well as Deadzone and Mars Attacks shipping

Mantic gives us a look at how things are going on with the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter, as well as updates about shipping of Deadzone and if they’ll have Mars Attacks at GenCon.

With the eponymous Blaine unlocked too, the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter is going from strength to strength, while Deadzone Wave 2 is now officially shipping.

The Party’s Babysitter makes his appearance in Dungeon Saga

Mantic knows that every good party needs the one guy who tells the other characters that they shouldn’t be looting bodies or desecrating graves. As such, the next stretch goal for Dungeon Saga is Ibrahim, the Paladin.

Ibrahim

From the campaign:

The Paladin is a holy warrior who abhors the Undead. Ibrahim comes with his own thick card Character Mat, giving you all the stats and rules you need to add him to your adventure. He also brings the blessings of his chosen god with him, giving you brand new rules, cards, and abilities for this holiest of warriors. What would you like to see from your new Paladin companion? Standard troupes like healing and blessings must be close surely?

Dungeon Saga Alpha Rules have landed

Mantic posted up the alpha rules set for Dungeon Saga: Dwarf King’s Quest over on their blog.

From the website:

These rules are the very core mechanics at the heart of the experience that we then build on to add all of the flavour and character. Help us get this bit right first, and the “chrome” can come later.

You can view the Dungeon Saga: Alpha Core Rules via the Mantic Digital Reader. Alternatively you can simply download them, the cards and even the maps in PDF format.

New $1 pledge level for Dungeon Saga

Mantic created a new pledge level for those backers who only want to get the add-ons for the game.

Source

From the announcement:

To ensure that people can access the addons, if they’re interested in the sculptures in there, or the extra value packs, we’ve added a $1 adventuerer level. That way, you can choose addons and keep an eye on the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter as it develops!

Dungeon Saga closes in on $250,000

Mantic is getting closer and closer to their next stretch goal, unlocked at $250k. They’ve got a new add-on up to help them get there.

From them to you:

After a huge first day, the Dungeon Saga adventure board game is closing in on a quarter of a million bucks – and they’ve released the trolls!

You’re going to need more than your trusty broad sword to combat these guys.
