As you get older, the memory of things you learned long ago tend to fade. And we all know that our muscles don’t respond the way they used to. Hard to do those triple-backflips in your 80s. After more than a couple lifetime’s of studies, even great wizards start to lose it. But that’s also when they get together to prove who’s the best. And that’s what you’ll be doing in Witless Wizards, a new card game from Drawlab that’s up on Kickstarter now.
As the week continues along, we get ever-closer back to that beloved weekend. Still have half the week to get through, though. And if we’re gonna make it, we should stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: New Bases Available From Secret Weapon Miniatures, New Classic Movie Minis Available To Order From Sally 4th, Dark Art Studios Announces Devil’s Dungeon II Project, Warsaw Uprising 1944 28mm Figures by Infamous JT Up On Kickstarter, and Legendary Metal Coins Season 3 Live on Kickstarter.
The written word is very powerful. I mean, look at what you’re doing right now. I’m imparting knowledge to you via written language (ok, typed, but still). Wizards are well known for having scrolls filled with all sorts of arcane knowledge in the form of powerful spells. As an apprentice wizard that you are (didn’t you know? You’re a wizard, ‘arry!), you’ll need to learn from as many scrolls as possible, adding them to your repertoire. But others are looking to get that knowledge, too. You’ll have to be quick. That’s the story behind Magic ScROLLS, a new dice game that’s up on Kickstarter.
Well, as was expected, Thursday has turned into Friday. The week’s still going by quickly (that’s NOT a complaint). So it should be almost no time before I’m headed home for a lovely weekend of… I’m not 100% sure what I’ll be up to this weekend. Having spent the last two Saturdays driving ~9 hours, if I just was to chill at home, I’d be able to handle that. But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t stock up on some bite-size gaming stories in the meantime.
Today we have: Final Minutes for Wander on Kickstarter, FossilPunk Foundry To Launch Sauriana Kickstarter, Pre-orders open for Full Battle Rattle Miniatures modern Canadian Infantry, Organisers Guide to Tanks OPS Kits Posted, Victoria Miniatures Universal Victorian Guard Now Available, Drawlab Running Legendary Dice Throwers Kickstarter, Poorly Dubbed Action Heroes Paper Minis Now Available, Brigade Models Release 6mm Kirin Walker, and New Tokens & Templates for WW2 Gaming from Sally 4th.
Hey there, everyone. I hope you’re enjoying your Saturday. Mine’s not the greatest, as I’m driving back from visiting my parents. Not that visiting my parents is bad. But the 8.5 hour drive back home is. Buh. No fun at all. But at least once I’m back home I’ll be able to get back into the groove of some gaming.
In the meantime, let’s get you some gaming reviews.
Today we have: VS 2PCG A-Force Expansion, Conflict of Heroes Guadalcanal, Shattered Void, Wake Up Cthulhu, Oh My Gods, Scape, Legendary Dice Throwers, Blood & Fortune, Histrio, Mistborn: House War, Celestia, and Morocco.
Oh, hello there, Friday. Didn’t see you come in. No, no, it’s fine. Have a seat and stay for a while. You know everyone’s pretty happy to see you around. Here, why don’t you have a snack? I’ve prepared a platter of bite-sized gaming stories for you to nosh on.
What’ve we got? Well, let’s see.
It appears that we have: Virus Board Game Coming To Giochistarter, Dark Sword Miniatures acquires all rights to both Hot Lead Miniature Painting DVD Sets, Play testers needed for Nine Dragons “The Wedding Banquet” introductory adventure for Honour RPG, Kaptin Orc Available From Kromlech, New American Revolution Figures from All the King’s Men, New Xin Trade Fleet Troops Available From the Ion Age, Topside Minis Releases Battle Off Samar Set, Legendary Metal Coins is Live on Kickstarter for Season 2, Brigade Models Releases New 6mm SF Infantry, and New Releases Available From Hitech Miniatures.
Artipia Games’ Project: Elite has made more than 4x their funding goal over on Kickstarter. They’ve made it through various stretch goals, but this one’s a biggie. Backers can now add the Adrenaline expansion to their pledge. There’s new heroes, new monsters, new maps, and new objectives. And it’s not just the things in the box that are new, but there are reference cards to make some of the monsters from the original game a bit new, with different options in how to run them.
Artipia Games has launched their Kickstarter campaign for Project: ELITE, their new real-time sci-fi board game. A game of Projet: ELITE takes just 30-45min. The game consists of numerous 2-minute rounds where players must decide between defeating aliens or completing objectives. You don’t have a lot of time to sit and debate. You’ve got to go! Go! Go! The game is a cooperative affair for 1-4 players. The campaign is already over their funding goal, so it’s on to stretch goals for the next 25 days.

Though it’s raining here in Atlanta on this Friday the 13th, we’re not letting it get us down. GAMA is next week, as well as AdeptiCon. So there’s plenty to be looking forward to.
And, of course, there’s gaming this weekend. For me, there’ll be D&D. What do you have in store?
In this installment of Snippets, we have: More installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Final Week and New Pledge Levels for Fujian Trader, Tabletop-Art Previews Upcoming 32mm Bases, New 10mm modular building range for DZC available from War Mage Games, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm February Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, New Maori Pa Terrain from Catalyst Creative, Legendary Metal Coins Now Live On Kickstarter, LaserCutCard Stacked Containers Plus Bundle Offer, New Dead Man’s Hand 4Ground pre-painted buildings and accessories, and EZPainter Kickstarter updates and Rates news.
Drawlab Entertainment has a Kickstarter up and running for Spells of Doom, their new board game.
They’re over their funding goal, so it’s stretch goals for the next 26 days.
From the campaign:
Become a hero and take the fate of the realm in your hands! Spells of Doom can be played with 2 players, where each player controls his own hero, or with 4 players, where the players cooperate in two teams, where each side tries to capture magic shrines and damage their opponents. In each turn each hero can do as much actions as possible by using mana.
