The Media Event that CMON held here at Gen Con gave us a chance to check out what they have coming down the pipeline in terms of new releases. One of the games people were most-interested in was A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game. The Kickstarter campaign was a success, making sure that this game has a great starting point to go from.

Galleries From Day 1 At Gen Con 2017

It’s early dawn here at Gen Con Day 2. I… wish I could tell you what happened to Day 1. I swear it was just here a minute ago. At least, that’s how it feels. I can tell you that the hall is busy. But what would you expect from a show that’s sold out? Thursday already felt like a Saturday. So it’s anyone’s guess as to what the rest of the show will be like.

Anyway, over on the TGN Facebook page, I’ve been regularly updating with galleries from the show. Here’s what we had yesterday.

CMON Previews Arcadia Quest: Riders

At a media event held by CMON, they previewed numerous upcoming games that they have been working on. The first that I’d like to talk about is Arcadia Quest: Riders. Sure, the Guilds have had animal companions with their cute, little pets. But now, they’ll be able to actually take to battle riding impressive steeds!

CMON Limited Hosts Gen Con 50 Event to Support Indianapolis’ Child Advocates

Gaming is cool. Gaming for a cause is even better. Gen Con has a yearly charity that they give to, and this year is no different. Child Advocates helps children in need through ensuring care and court help. During Gen Con, CMON will be helping Child Advocates by running special demo events for Rising Sun. Players will be able to possibly even win a copy of the game before it goes on sale. Then, on Sunday, a check will be given to the charity by CMON’s CEO, Chern Ann Ng.

Review Roundup

Usually, I’m all like, “hey! It’s Saturday! Go get your gaming on!” and, in a way, I’m still that. But I’m also, “It’s the Saturday before Gen Con… … … I Have So Many Things I Still Need To Do!!!” A couple people have asked me, “are you ready for the show?” My answer is, “you’re never ‘ready’ for Gen Con. You’re where you are in your attempt to be ready, and then the show starts happening, whether you got all you needed done or not.” But I am doing my best to have as much done as possible. That includes getting you your reviews I know you all so desperately desire.

This week we have: Nerdy Inventions, Incantris, Anachrony, Lucky Dogs, Wordsy, Deckscape: Test Time, A Dog’s Life, Titan Tactics, Frantic, Have at Thee, Upon a Fable, Sopio, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Shadow War: Armageddon, Massive Darkness, Oh My Goods, Nimbee, Pandemic Legacy Season 1, and The Lost Expedition.

CMON Limited Announces Exclusive Deal with Universal Distribution in Canada

You gotta know where you can get your games if you want to be able to actually play them. And if you’re in Canada and if you want games from CMON, you’re going to have to talk with Universal Distribution (doesn’t the fact that it’s Universal make it international? – Mike Nelson). CMON and Universal have struck up a deal where Universal will be the exclusive distributor for CMON products in Canada.

Tulley Sworn Shields Added to A Song of Ice and Fire Kickstarter

The A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game Kickstarter campaign continues to roll along, like a river. Rivers are certainly something the Tulley Sworn Shields know about. And they’re going to be bringing that river’s strength to the game. They’ve been included as an optional add-on to the Kickstarter.

Thursday Terrain Corner

This week, to me, is just rocketing by. Though I’m in my Thursday shirt, it certainly feels like it should only be, like Tuesday or something. But no, it’s Thursday. Which, of course, means that, a week from this posting, many of us will be in downtown Indy, chest-deep into Gen Con’s first day.
… I have so much stuff still to do…
*stares wide-eyed at nothing in-particular*
… Ok, but before then, we need to make your gaming tables look good.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: War Sands: Fantasy Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargames, Battle at the Mummer’s Ford Added to A Song of Ice and Fire Kickstarter, Promethium Rig Added To Tubular Buildings Kickstarter, and Acheson Creations Releases next six products from Dungeon Worlds 3 Kickstarter.

One thing that CMON really does go out of their way for their games is making some great artwork for them. In order to show that off, they have added the Deluxe Rulebook for their A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game to their Kickstarter campaign.

Thursday Terrain Corner

This week is still rushing by. That’s not a complaint, mind you. This weekend I plan on helping a friend get settled into his new place. Of course, that means unpacking board games. And if a couple of those games just happen to get played before they get sorted onto the shelf, that’s just the sort of risk one takes in life. But before we get there, we need to make sure everyone’s gaming tables look as good as possible.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Terrain Sets Added to A Song of Ice and Fire Kickstarter, Dark London Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, and New Items Added to WarStages Kickstarter.

July Releases Available From CMON

The latest set of releases are now available from CMON. It’s a gang-heavy month, it seems. There’s 3 organized crime games available (Banana Bandits, The Godfather: Corleone’s Empire, and Gang Rush: Breakout), one about investigating a murder scene in Sherlook, and finally, there’s Modern Art, which, I guess, you could be smuggling stolen art. What I’m saying is that, without meaning to, it’s kind of a theme month this month.

Well, this is one that a lot of you have been anticipating, I’m sure. CMON has launched their Kickstarter campaign for A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game. Speaking of which, CMON Limited has announced that they are purchasing the game from Sweet Games. Along with that, they’ve announced a new expansion is in the works. Lots of releases coming out today. CMON’s got several, themselves. If you’re a fan of Rum & Bones, there’s a new faction, some new mercenaries, as well as some deep sea creatures available. If you’re a fan of simple bluffing games, there’s Kronia, which is one I personally enjoy. These are available now at your LGS as well as online.

CMON Previews Lannisters Guards Sculpts for A Song of Ice and Fire Miniatures Game

When you’re wealthy, you can trick out your troops with the best. That’s just what the Lannisters do in A Song of Ice and Fire Miniatures Game coming from CMON. Their swordsmen have better arms and armor than just about anyone else out there. Though, since you can’t spend money when you’re dead, they don’t always stick around to see that armor get bloodied. It’s a fine balance that commanders will have to maintain when running them as a faction. In this preview, we get a look at some of the sculpts for the Lannister Guards.

Not to be outdone, the Forsaken are also getting in on the action with a new battle suit. Plus, the new, snazzy packaging makes its way to the Fire Caste.
