The week continues its inevitable march towards the weekend. It’s been a busy one for me, with lots of releases coming out tomorrow, there’s a lot of work to be done. Plus, you know, all the news (that’s fit to type). I’m really looking forward to some time off this weekend. I’m getting a bit run-down. But I’ve still got enough energy to get you your terrain articles.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Battle mat: Axis & Allies: War at Sea – Hexes Available From Warzone40k, New Felled Tree Trunk Terrain From Baueda, and Dark London Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame.
There’s a lot of people out there who will be waking up on Sunday morning and looking to see what the Easter Bunny has left them in their basket. Well, Baueda’s got a special gift for you in their basket. They’ve got an Easter Sale going on now. Go grab yourself some springtime deals.
We’ve made it to Friday! Woo! Congratulations, everyone. Good job. Just a bit more and we’ll make it to the weekend. My plans look like they’re going to include trying to paint up my Hunter’s Guild and making Jammie Dodgers. We’ll see how all that goes. But before I get to all that, I need to fill up on some bite-sized gaming stories. And, starting out, Kraken Dice certainly has been busy this morning…
On the platter today we have: Glitter Bomb Dice Sets Available From Kraken Dice, Second Batch of Ethereal Shaman Dice Coming Next Week, Island of Misfit Dice Sets Available Today, New Custom Dice Trays From Deep-Cut Studio, Skirmisher Publishing Releases Heroes & Monsters of the Necropolis: Tokens & Avatars for Virtual Tabletops, Chicharra Hopper Sci-Fi Hopper Up On Kickstarter, Impact! Miniatures Running Chibi Capsule Magical Girls & Monsters Kickstarter, and Baueda Releases 15mm Alan Light Horse Mini.
It’s Valentine’s Day!
… Ok, enough of that.
It’s Half-Priced Chocolate Eve!
That’s more like it.
But, before we get to those reduced-price bite-sized morsels tomorrow, let’s get you some gaming bite-sized morsels today (for free, of course).
On the platter today we have: Kraken Dice Valentine Day Sale Happening Now, New 28mm WWII Jerrycans from Baueda Wargames, The Game Master System by Dog Might On Kickstarter, and Board Buddies Game-Finder App Up On Kickstarter.
As I’ve said numerous times over the past couple weeks, Gen Con is coming. Like… tomorrow. There’s going to be, oh, about a bajillion things going on, so it’s best to stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories. Plus, since we didn’t get it on Monday (and there’s a chance I might not be able to get to it tomorrow), let’s go ahead and get some Terrain Corner pieces in here, too.
So, in all we have: 1-48TACTIC now has free add ons, Warzone Studio Releases Gigafactory Battle Mat, Brigade Models Releases 2mm Scale City Blocks, Crocodile Games Releases Remastered Abominable Snowbeast, Badlands: Fantasy Gaming Mat Available from Pwork Wargames, New Statuesque Female Heads on Sale for 10% off, Darkmook Paper Miniatures Releases Supernatural Western Town Terrain, A Dog’s Life Introduces Tillman the Skateboarding dog, The Army Painter Announces Runewars Paint Sets, and Arid Plain! Fantasy Gaming Mat Available from Pwork Wargames.
Baueda is getting down to crunch time for their 1-48TACTIC Kickstarter. They’re really close to funding, and they’re hoping that adding in a bunch more characters will get them across that finish line. There’s 6 new add-ons, total (3 each for the 101st American Airborne and the Germans), to help bulk up your forces.
WWII saw many different new weapons and tactics used out on the battlefield. It’d be impossible to represent each and every single way a trooper was kitted out during the conflict… but that doesn’t mean companies can’t try. Baueda has added 6 new characters as add-ons as part of their 1-48TACTIC WWII skirmish game Kickstarter.
Sometimes you don’t want to play a big game of whatever. But if you’re a historical miniatures fan, you might feel you’ve got limited options for skirmish-sized games. Well, 1-48TACTIC looks to change that. It’s a WWII skirmish game where you can play with as few as 3-4 figures per side. The game is up on Kickstarter now.
We all know my love of getting things for free. I’m always looking to stretch my gaming dollar, and “free” is about as much as you can stretch it. So, with that in mind, I’m happy to announce that the latest version of 1-48TACTIC is available as a free download off of their website. If you want a WWII skirmish game, it might just be the one you’re looking for. Why not go try it out?
We’re making our way there, everyone. A 3-day weekend is nearly upon us. Have you gotten your plans set yet? I’m… still feeling mine out a bit. We’ll see how it goes. But I do hope to get in at least one game of Guild Ball tonight after work. I’m going to finally get to use those new Hunter’s Guild models. And, of course, I want my table to look good, just as you do. So let’s work on that.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: More game mats for Runewars from Deep-Cut Studio, District 5 Food Booths Available From Micro Art Studio, BattleMats Running RPG Encounter Mats Kickstarter, Ice Planet Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, and Baueda Releases 15mm Hellenistic Fort.
We’ve made it to Thursday. Just a couple days now and we’ll be firmly into the weekend. As we roll along, you might be thinking about your gaming tables and wanting to make them as good-looking as possible. Good thing that’s just what we’re here to do now.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Pedion Tiles Going Urban Coming to Kickstarter Soon, Dragonlock Ultimate: Dungeon Expansion Set 9 Now Available, New 15mm modular barge bridge set from Baueda, Lands of Mars Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, and Gaming Mat (BB951) Available From Battlefront.
We’re making our way there, ladies and gentlemen. The previous weekend is as far from us as the next one is to us. Have you started getting together any plans? We’ve got the gaming day at the library coming up this weekend. Gonna hang out and play some Guild Ball and hopefully Fujian Trader. But we’ve still got a couple days to get through, first. So let’s stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today we have: Luxumbra: Infinity Collectors on Kickstarter, New Silvia Model Available From Brother Vinni, New DBA 3.0 East Frankish or Norman Army Pack Now Available From Baueda, Brigade Models Release Netherlands Aeronef, Gioconomicon Posts Photos From Nuremberg Toy Fair, February Releases Available From Terrible Kids Stuff, PicoArmor’s War College is Open, KaYo Miniatures Clown Army Up On Kickstarter, MattimaoPaints Having A Sale On How To Paint Board Game Miniatures Book, Three new SCW 28mm flag sets From Minairons Miniatures, Company B Releases BA-10 Armored Car, Win this Painted Edo Scutter From Bombshell Miniatures, New Age of Sigmar Tokens and Templates Available from Advanced Deployment, Miss Cupidon Available From Predastore, and Oldhammer Goblins Up On Kickstarter.
The middle of the week and the start of a new month. 2017 is already 1/12 in the books. January sure did go by quick (at least for me). Before you know it, we’ll be announcing Black Friday sales. Ok, maybe that’s a bit much. Plenty of things to do between now and then. And if we want to keep up our strength, we should nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Mighty Meeples: Ghostbusters Collection Released by Cryptozoic; 4th Edition Preview Flames of War Preview: New Paint Sets, Spray Cans, Token Sets and Gaming Aids; Eye for an Eye: Arena Coming To Kickstarter; Acheson Creations announces two “Big Events” for February 2017; Numenera Audio Collection from Plate Mail Games; The Dragon Tray Up On Kickstarter; Aenor Miniatures Releases New Zombie Survivor; New Line of SCI-FI Miniatures by RBJ Game Company; Dice Base: Master GM Screen Up On Kickstarter; Black Earth tabletop wargame coming on IndieGoGo in February; F’aa’thum, Greater Stygian Wardemon of Fate Available From Kromlech; Baueda New DBA 3.0 Norse Irish Army Pack is Now Available; Elder Dice Coming to Kickstarter; and New Circular Ruler From Micro Art Studio.
A rather busy week is working its way towards the end. We’ve made it over the hill in the middle that is Wednesday and are now sliding our way through Thursday, soon to be Friday. With any luck, you’re finalizing plans for some gaming. And if you’ll be gaming, you’ll want your gaming tables to look as good as possible. So let’s help you out there.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Baueda Releases New 15mm “Dug-in” Markers, New Temptations Gaming Mat From Warzone Studio, Urban Sector Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargames, and Heroic Maps release Chromatic Dragon bundle and Vighaugr Treasury.
And just like that, we’ve made it to Thursday. The weekend is almost within our grasp. Hopefully you have gaming-related plans. This weekend is the first Board Game Day up at the Milton Library for the year. They took last November and December off, but they’re back once again. If you don’t have an LGS that you can go and play at, perhaps talk to your local library about getting a Games Day going there.
As for the exact moment, we need to make sure your gaming tables look as good as possible.
In the Terrain Corner today we have: Baueda Releases New Drums, Barrels, and Casks; Manorhouse Workshop Update 11 – Forgotten Halls – Hard Plastic – Fortified Terrace; New Terrain Pieces From Terrain4Games; Hadrian’s Wall in 2mm Available From Brigade Models; Heroic Maps release Modular Kit: Starship Corridors; Starbase Starter and Expansion: Pwork Space Tiles Set Now Available; New 28mm tent kits from Sally 4th; Massive Miniature Building Authority Sale; New Sentry Platforms Available From Kromlech; Manorhouse Workshop Update 12 – You can use Forgotten Halls on any existing terrain; Cyber City: Pwork Wargames science fiction gaming mat now available; and Battlefront Posts New Desert Terrain Preview.
We’re halfway there, kids. The weekend is just 2.5 short days away (well, hopefully they’re relatively short). Hopefully you’re starting to get together plans for those great days off. And more-hopefully, those plans include gaming. I’ve not fully figured out what I’ll be up to. The last two weekends have been rather full, so I might take it easy this weekend. We’ll see.
But either way, we need to stock up on some bite-size gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Printable Armies Up On Kickstarter, New 15mm Late Republican Romans From Baueda, Dark Art Studios Launches Devil’s Dungeon Nightmare Creatures Kickstarter, Watchful I Studio Announces 28mm Terracotta Army, Corvus Corax Miniatures Live on Kickstarter, and Flatminis releases a second wave of 2D miniatures.
We’ve made it to the halfway mark. Just the rest of today, and then two full days and we’ll be back into the sweet embrace of the weekend. How will you be beating the heat? Inside gaming? Outside trying to catch them all? A little of both? Just be sure to hydrate. A group of friends want to wander around downtown Atlanta on Sunday… when it’s supposed to get to 99F out. Whoof. Too hot for this arctic ursine.
Anyway, being the middle of the week, it means we need to stock back up on bite-size gaming stories.
Today we have: Team Canada Adventure for Save the Day Super-Powered RPG, Precision Polyhedral Floating Face Dice On Kickstarter, Siren lands in Purgatory, New 28mm 1806 Prussian Hussars, Semi Realistic Portrait Generator for your games, New Numidian Cavalry Available From Victrix, 3rd Annual Great Wargaming Survey Posted, Another World Miniatures Releases Alfred – Steampunk Monkey Assistant, and Baueda Releases new 15mm Sicilian Normans range.
We have made it to Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Rejoice!
And, like, go eat some candy or something because of Halloween. Have yourself a good time.
Speaking of bite-size items such as those “fun” size candies (never did quite figure out what was so “fun” about them, but there we are, then), we have our usual platter of stories for you. These, however, know exactly why they’re fun.
In this batch we have: Free 15mm personality figure: Gaius Marius in Baueda Indiegogo Campaign, Final Day for Anarchy Models HD Stencils Wave 2 Kickstarter, The Prang by Eli Arndt moving to The Ion Age soon, Arena Rex Faction Dice Now Available, New Modern Adventurers & Mercs From Warhansa, and Plaid Hat Games Posts Halloween Downloadable Content for Mice & Mystics.
The week is progressing along. The turbulence of Monday starting to calm slightly on Tuesday and hopefully continuing into today. Let’s not jinx it by being overconfident, though. There’s plenty of week left to go.
In the meantime, Wednesday means posting a collection of bite-sized stories.
In today’s batch of snippets we have: New Warthrone approved army list: Orcs & Goblins from Warhammer, Onus! Rome vs. Carthage English Edition Coming to Kickstarter, Foxy and her gang are re-released at Statuesque Miniatures, Secrets of the Lost Tomb: The Elite Missions over 900% Funded, New 15mm Normans from Baueda added to Indiegogo, Two New Releases From Hitech Miniatures, Taranis Tracked Tanks by Bob Naismith offers now live from The Ion Age, New Infinity Limited Edition Unit Markers from Warsenal, and 11 Days Left in Cabals Kickstarter.
I hope you’re making it through the week just fine.
Mine’s hit a bit of a bumpy road, as I’m typing this from the mechanic’s. Thankfully, they have free wifi. Seems Bitey, my car, isn’t feeling so good and so he’s getting a checkup.
So yeah, hopefully your week is going better than mine. But what’s keeping me going is some gaming news, such as the bite-sized stories we’ve got for you now.
In this batch we have: New s-300 missile available for BallisticAces from BattleGateGames, Klukva Miniatures Releases Two New Busts, Purgatory’s Second Model WIP Posted, Baueda new 15mm Gallic Cavalry On Indiegogo, PMD Games is launching their first Kickstarter on October 5th, Microshoggoth slimes into Tooth & Sword, and Draccus promo available for purchase from iello.
Congratulations for surviving another work week. The entire weekend looms before us, full of possibilities. With any luck, you’ve got some gaming in mind. I’ll be taking photos of a bunch of my figures, preparing to sell them off, as I need to make room for some other stuff coming in. Hey, if I’ve not played a game for ~5 years, and don’t really plan on getting back into it, it’s probably time to let someone else enjoy it.
Anyway, that’s as may be. We’ve got another collection of bite-sized stories for you. They include: New supplement for By Fire and Sword Announced, Victoria Miniatures Posts September Releases, Ratgard: Preview of the MLRS-Badger, Darkmoor RPG Coming To Kickstarter Next Week, 15mm Caesar’s army – Marian Roman 105 BC – 25 BC On Indiegogo, Steve Barber Models New Webshop Opens, Carbon Fiber Playing Card Case by Essential Carbon On Kickstarter, Clear for Takeoff Coming to Kickstarter Soon, Looking For Group Minis Now Available, and Fantasy Flight Games to Release Colored Flight Stands and Bases for X-Wing.
Model Dads takes a look at various bits and bobs from Baueda in their latest video review.
From the post:
Model Dads take a look at a sample of Baueda’s existing range of 15mm scenic bases, objective markers & fortifications whilst giving you the nudge towards their kick-starter (hint hint)…
Baueda made quite a jump in funding in the past couple days and are closing in on their goal. There’s less than 3 days to go, though, so if you want in, you’d better hurry.
From the campaign:
remember that you don’t need to take any of the new codes:
15A22CB – 3 different medium + 1 small ‘dug-in’ markers (desert)
15A23CB – Fire control position + command base (Objective marker)
15A25CB – Medium battery emplacement (desert)
15A26CB – Large battery emplacement (desert)
15A28CB – 4 different 4 holes Infantry scenic bases (desert)
15A29CB – 6 different 2 holes small scenic bases (desert)
you can take the occasion to get any of the over 40 different models in the range and if you gang up with some friend to share the booty you can get as much as 50% off retail price on all of them!
Baueda is in their final week over on Indiegogo for their 15mm WWII desert fortification terrain pieces. They’ve got a bit to go before they reach their goal. Will your pledge be the one that sends them over?
From the campaign:
only one week left to jump on this!
We are already producing a large range of high quality resin-cast wargame terrain, designed specifically for 15mm WWII miniatures and fully compatible with Flames of War rules. Currently, this range already includes over 30 different packs of scenic bases, objectives, bunkers, fortifications, and entrenchments, covering rural and urban theaters, and you cam pick ANY model of the whole range as reward, not necessarily the new ones!
Add these fantastic models to your battlefields! Get the best, and with a great discount!
While the range is designed specifically with a desert feel, most of these models can be used for many more armies and settings than the North African Campaign. All sandbag emplacements, for instance, would be perfect also for WWI and the Vietnam War!
Baueda has launched an Indiegogo campaign in order to fund a line of 15mm WWII desert fortification terrain pieces.
From the campaign:
All scenic bases are especially designed to be compatible with Flames of War™ rules. All our models are made with very high quality POLYURETHANE resin that will last you a lifetime!
To help you helping us, we have extended this offer to all models available in the range, not only the new desert series, so you can choose any pack from this range as your reward!
If for any reason you still don’t want or can’t contribute to the campaign, but you would like to see these products added to our catalog anyway, so that they will soon be available also from your local retailer then please help to get the word out, let your friends know, share this on facebook and make some noise about this campaign in your local gaming community! You’ll have our everlasting gratitude and will help us bringing to life yet more new fantastic models!
Thank you and have fun!
Baueda keeps enemy tanks at bay with the release of their new 15mm Dragon’s Teeth tank traps.
From the release:
Comes in sections 50mm wide by 100mm deep (2″x 3.9″), designed to be compatible with Flames of War rules: use two of them in a line to make a standard fortification section of 200x50mm, or one in front of the other to make an historically correct and accurately scaled 1/100 (“15mm” wargame scale”) model!
Baueda keeps unlocking new stuff in their 15mm Norse Irish Kickstarter. Now they’ve got all the German Migration figures available.
From the campaign:
Only a couple of days to go and another development point unlocked which would mean 4 extra packs available now… but wait, since you guys have been so supportive I decided to burn some midnight oil and get things really moving, so as for now ALL DTS codes are unlocked and you can add any of the German Migration period figures to your choices now!
Not only that, but since GAE4 – Irish Bonnachts and GAE7 – “Sons of death” have also received so much support I decided to push these forward as well, so they’re on the sculpting table now and will soon see the light!
Baueda has some preview greens up of their 15mm Germanic Command miniatures they’re working on as part of their 15mm Norse Irish Indiegogo campaign that’s doing rather well.
From the update:
only 13 euros away from unlocking a new point!
If you haven’t voted yet… hurry! 🙂
Baueda gives you more options in your historical miniatures with their 15mm Viking Spearmen that have their spears as separate pieces.
From the release:
15mm Viking Spearmen Shieldwall charging (separate spears)
These are specifically designed so that you can replace the separate cast tin spears (supplied!) with your favorite brass or steel wire spears. Other than the separate weapons the main difference between the poses in this pack and VIK11 is that the latter include figures that have the shoulder line almost perpendicular to the shield which allow for the spear to be cast on with the rest of the figure all in one piece. VIK12 include figures who are facing straight to the enemy with the shoulders roughly parallel to the shield. They are also perfect to mix with all the others packs for even more variety!
Pack of 8 figures (picked at random from half a dozen different variations)
Baueda unlocked another Production Point in their 15mm Norse Irish Indiegogo campaign. They’ve made it quite far in their campaign, coming close to making 2x their goal. Go check out the campaign and see what sorts of goodies are available.
From the campaign:
We have done it again!
Another development point unlocked in the campaign for 15mm Norse Irish 842 AD-1300 AD and by popular vote it has been assigned to DTS4 – Early Frankish foot warriors!
Since both the packs chosen so far are in group one they’ll be both ready at the same time as the Norse-Irish and you can already add them to your choice now!
The current leader for receiving the new point just unlocked is GAE4 – Irish Bonnachts.
Once again, you can now cast your vote if you haven’t yet or change it if you like but only until a new point is unlocked!
Thank you all for your passion and your help, you are truly wonderful people!
Baueda gives your little mans a place to hide from enemy bullets with their new Sandbag Bunker terrain piece.
From the release:
28mm Sandbag Bunker (4 pieces)
A much larger sandbag bunker than the 28mm frontline sentry post we already had in catalog, comes with a separate roof piece and two “L” shaped sections of fortifications plus a small ammo boxes pile.
This imposing emplacement can comfortably fit four figures mounted on 25mm round bases inside with some room to spare, so plenty of space to use it as a machine gun nest, for a recoilless gun fortified position or as a command post. Perfect as the centerpiece of a larger defence system or as a game objective, all the pieces in this set have plenty of beautifully sculpted surface detail to help you in painting, and can be used for basically any conflict from WWII up to the most futuristic settings!
Baueda has unlocked their Second Development point in their 15mm Norse Irish Indiegogo campaign. That means backers get to vote on where the campaign heads from here.
From the update:
Just want to say thank you guys, your feedback and support for this project has been great!
Still 18 days to go, so it looks like we are going to get some Allemanni to choose from as well… or will that be more Irish? YOU CHOOSE, so jump on it now!
Baueda is looking to fund a line of 15mm Norse Irish minis over on Indiegogo. They’ve made it almost halfway there already, so go check ’em out.
From the campaign:
Hi guys, this is Claudio from Baueda Wargames ltd.
As you may know we are already producing a range of high quality 15mm wargame miniatures for many Dark Age armies, sized at “standard” 15mm and designed to be fully compatible with other top quality 15mm figures like Essex, Corvus Belli or Old Glory. Currently this range already include Viking, Norman, Carolingian Frankish and Lombard.
We now want to add a whole new fascinating and obscure army to this range!
Baueda expands their 15mm miniature line with their new Roman Legionaries in Fatigue Dress digging figures.
From the release:
Probably the most common chore of the Roman legionary apart of marching was engineering work, which mainly meant digging and moving ground. The army not only built a new camp every day, but was responsible for almost all the main civil engineering groundwork; while it was specialized teams that built roads, bridges, aqueducts, harbors and walls, even before any such work could start the terrain needed to be cleared and leveled, a truly massive undertaking without modern engines and tools! Enter the army: you may think digging 6 miles of trench by hand is quite a job, but that’s only because you are not familiar with just how much dirt ten thousand shovels can move in half an hour!
Despite popular beliefs and stylistic conventions Roman Legionaries would not normally work in full combat gear, especially in warm climates! Although there certainly were such instances those were exceptions, normally legionaries will strip to their tunic which were further hold up by making a knot behind the back and often slipped one arm out for max freedom of movement. Due to the very slow pace at which fashion changed in ancient times and the small scale of these figures they are also suitable for a wide variety of roles from the earliest recorded history until well into the middle ages!
Perfect for scenario games these would also be useful to populate camp and town scenes…
Baueda has three new sets of scenic rural bases for you Flames of War players.
From the release:
Three new codes available now for our 15mm WWII scenic range, the rural bases are back!
(Actually not, these are all new models, but they do replace the old, now OOP, ones!)
15mm Medium/Light Artillery scenic bases (rural)
15mm HMG/mortar scenic bases (rural)
15mm large heavy mortar or rocket battery scenic bases (rural)
Cast in our usual extra-tough polyurethane resin in the same size of a FoW bases. All have plenty of beautifully deeply sculpted surface detail to help you in painting, just spray paint, drybush and flock and these are ready to go on the battlefield!
Watch this space as there are going to be quite a few new releases and news announcements in the coming days!
