From the post:

Wow, what a run! Two big shows within thirty days, broken toes, staff changes and lots of other distractions are now over. We look forward to next year’s Gencon, in particular, since we will have more than 30 days notice that we will be there as a vendor!!!

The packing of Wave 2 will begin towards the end of next week. As previously stated, we will be packing at least 50% of the boxes before we announce that shipping has begun. We will let everyone know shortly which products will be shipped in Wave 2. We also hope to have some good news on the PDF version of the rules soon.

Atomic Warlords got themselves some of the American forces from All Quiet on the Martian Front and gives you their thoughts on them in this review article.

US forces

From the post:

All Quiet on the Martian Front was just released by the nice folk over at Alien Dungeon. It is a 15mm scale tactical game of the Martian invasion early 20th century. The "current" game year is 1914 and the Martians control a large part of the globe. I backed it on Kickstarter just over a year ago and finally the big box arrived containing about 2/3 of the initial releases.

Architects of War now has All Quiet on the Martian Front available to order (and you'll get it shipped right away) from their webshop.

US Command Stand

From the update:

The First NOT KS item is now up for Preorder for All Quiet on the Martian Front

Alien Dungeon has a post up about how things are coming along with fulfillment for their All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter.

From the update:

Well, we have been quiet during December, but only because we have been b-u-s-y. After not shipping in December, we were all determined to hunker down and get this stuff out so that’s what we have been doing while “Sales” handled the Holiday orders. That meant lots of hard work but we should have been more diligent with updates. Besides All Quiet, we have, of course, had to manage the rest of our business and we had the best November and December ever. So, first things first, to all of you already shopping our goods, THANK YOU!

Play Unplugged has posted up another of their interviews while at Historicon. This one's with Alien Dungeon.

From the interview:

Play Unplugged‘s coverage of Historicon 2013 continues! In this episode Enrico Nardini makes contact with Alien Dungeon‘s Ernie Baker. Ernie discusses Alien Dungeon’s alternate history martian invasion game: All Quiet on the Martian Front. Topics include using a pre-Kickstarter campaign, current developments of the miniatures and game rules, and the what’s in store for the future.

Alien Dungeon is up and over $200k on Kickstarter for their All Quiet on the Martian Front campaign and have added new add-on options.

From the update:

We couldn't be happier with how things are going! We now have the Martians, United States, and British Expeditionary Force unlocked for the game!

If you haven't pledged yet, it's not too late! There are many pledge levels available, including the highly affordable INVASION Level!

Alien Dungeon is showing off some new model previews over in their All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter campaign.

From the update:

Right. The BEF is here.
We listened to all the comments and made some adjustments. Please note that these are concept models and will be tightened up considerably. The Infantry figure is the first pass sketch. We will have another one up soon and then we can talk about the Improved Brodie helmet, et al.

Alien Dungeon knows shipping costs can be prohibitive when ordering product, especially if it's overseas shipping. So they've been working on a new deal for their All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter.

From the announcement:

We are very pleased to announce that Renedra, the renowned manufacturer and retailer of plastic miniatures and accessories, has agreed to act as our European Union distributor for the All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter only. We could not be happier with this outcome since Architects of War, our sister company, is the Exclusive North American Distributor for Renedra.

What does this mean for you if you live in the UK or EU? There will be no increase in the flat rate shipping charge! You will receive the shipment of your pledge, freebies and any add-on goodies by paying the previously stated flat rate shipping, no additional charges. The product will ship to you from the UK!

So, we have 3 different categories that you can fall into…

• US – Free shipping
• UK and EU – Flat rate stated in the pledge levels or shipping policy for Add-ons. No VAT or other import duties charged to you.
• Everybody Else – Flat rate stated in the pledge levels or shipping policy for Add-ons. You will be responsible for any duty or taxes charged at the time of delivery if applicable in your country.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you all for being so patient while we hammered out the details!

Alien Dungeon keeps plugging away on their All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter campaign. They've posted up some more stretch goals they hope to break through.

From the update:

We have just unveiled the next batch of Stretch Goals for All Quiet on the Martian Front. Things are going great but we want to give you guys even more!
Check out what you can get for the $175,000 and $200,000 levels!

Also, if we get to $250,000 we will make another UNIT in PLASTIC! Then everybody wins as the savings will be passed on to you all!

Alien Dungeon is doing well over on Kickstarter, going over $150k already. They've posted up a preview version of the rules so you can "try it before you buy it."

From the update:

In a desire to give people a clearer picture of All Quiet on the Martian Front, the Game Launch that this Kickstarter is all about, we are putting up this TRY IT PDF. I do hope you will give it a go. We think this game is a lot of fun and has tons of potential but I suppose we would feel that way!

We have been listening and here is a chance to “try it” before you buy it. As I have stated previously, I wish I could demo the game to each and every one of you personally but that is hardly practical. Here is a stab at the same thing.

This is NOT a “beta” release of the rules. There is a lot more to the game and the rules than you will see in this PDF, but it should give you a good sense of how the game will play out. It uses LESS THAN HALF of what you get in the IINVASION box set and that doesn’t count the FREE unlocks that have already occurred and are to come.

Alien Dungeon is well over 2x their goal for All Quiet on the Martian Front. They've updated their stretch goal charts so you know what's already been unlocked and what'll be unlocked next.

From the update:

The All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter is off to a fantastic start. We reached our funding goal in under two hours and in less than a week we have unlocked a host of stretch goals! We have also revised the rewards to provide even more great free unlocks for the First Interplanetary War!
The US and Martian Force Lists are already posted so you can see what is available in the game!

If you haven't checked out all the amazing offerings yet, please visit the Kickstarter Campaign

Alien Dungeon has officially launched their All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter campaign (I'm still groovin' on that name).

From the campaign:

The Martian attack of 1898 brought terrible devastation to the city of London and set the course of human history upon an altogether unexpected path. Amongst the ruins of the greatest metropolis on Earth, the Martians had - in the end – faltered and perished. Everyone now knows that these invaders were overcome, not by the might of Queen Victoria’s armies, but by nature’s own forces of disease and decay. Against these mere microbes, the Martians’ superior minds could muster no defense. Where mankind had failed, the smallest and least significant of all Earth’s organisms had triumphed.

Although the Martian invasion shocked the world and caused widespread panic in the days that followed, by the early years of the twentieth century, many influential thinkers were eager to proclaim the aliens a spent force. Fear of further alien attack was gradually displaced by the humdrum concerns of life and commerce. It is sobering to reflect that most people were happy to accept this misguided notion, as we now know it to have been. All over the world, only a few visionaries continued to warn that the first attack might have been a scouting foray, the precursor to a full-scale invasion. They urged humanity to ready itself for war or risk extermination. These men were openly ridiculed and all too often dismissed as alarmists and cranks.

Few even noticed the arrival of the second wave of Martian cylinders that fell to earth sometime around the end of 1908. By the time the Martian presence came to the attention of the governments of Earth, it was already too late.

Alien Dungeon is looking to start their All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter next week. They've also posted up the beta rules online on their forums so you can check them out.

From the announcement:

Yes, we are targeting April 30th but it may be a day or two later. There is still a lot to be done. We feel comfortable that we will be very close to that date. The Game Play video is being shot tomorrow and all the modeling is finished (Yay!). We are almost ready to load it all into the Kickstarter format. We really wanted to get this right, so thanks for your patience.

Alien Dungeon is pleased to announce a new sci-fi minis game they're working on entitled All Quiet on the Martian Front.

From the announcement:

All Quiet on the Martian Front is a battle game in miniature set during the second Martian War, circa 1910. After their first defeat a few years earlier at the hands of stiff British resistance and unexpected environmental factors, the Martians have returned. This time they have started their invasion from the New World and they have well established themselves before surging forward in an unstoppable tide of destruction. The game begins on the Mississippi Defense Line, with America desperately trying to hold back the Martian advance. Super weapons by Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison are being rushed to the front. President Roosevelt leads the nation against the blood sucking Martians and their incredible machines. Baldwin Locomotive Works and Henry Ford work feverishly to produce as many of the new steam powered tanks for the front as possible. J.P. Morgan, Carnegie and Rockefeller work together to make the fearsome new land Ironclads a reality. The United Kingdom, experienced with anti Martian war, sends the British Expeditionary Force to help. France and Germany, untouched by any Martian machines yet, gather forces and build armies, but for what purpose?

Black Dust, Heat Rays, miles and miles of trenches and traps all form the backdrop for tripods vs tanks with lightening guns, Rough Riders on early Harleys, and lots more.
Alien Dungeon has some more free rules downloads for Fanticide available over on their webpage. Why not go get yourself a copy?

From the announcement:

In our continued quest across the lands of Nowhere, we have discovered even more Free Rules to enhance your games of Fanticide!

If you love to convert models to rile up a favorite opponent, then you will definitely want to grab the new Taunting Figure rules. We think that you will have as much fun with them as we have in our games.

As with all our rules updates, they are available free from our website

Fanticide, from Alien Dungeon, is getting a new warband. Now make like a tree, and go look at the new models.

From the release:

One of the most flexible aspects of games of Fanticide is the ability to create new Warbands. We have always wanted this to be a game where player creativity can come to the forefront! We also want to create new and exciting rules and warbands to explore the world of Nowhere here at the Dungeon and have decided to bring you the Blood Tree Warband!

This is not simply just a new warband though-it is a great new way to play a game with the new Soul Thrall rule. Everything in the warband must stay within a certain distance of the Blood Tree or they lose their power to activate. Think of all the great games you could play using a variation of this rule - perhaps a magical idol has animated a group of golems, or a powerful Lich is controlling a band of Undead. This rule has been specifically created for war bands led by magically powerful legends or creatures capable of controlling the minds of others.

A Blood Tree Warband consists of the Blood Tree and various Flora he has corrupted with his malign influence. Drained Forest Fathers and Drained Tree Bogies reanimate under his power to bring the Tree more souls. Gore Cap Mushrooms sprout up in the Mourning Woods created by the Blood Tree's hunger, infecting all who get close.
