For everyone that's been worried about it: My fruitcake turned out perfectly. :P
Since I know that all of you have been waiting with baited breath to find out about it. We'll see how it goes over with everyone at the office tomorrow, where everyone will get a good bite of what, I hope, is a new revolution in thinking about fruitcake.

On the subject of good bites, we've got some bite-sized news stories for you, as usual.

Today's include: Iron Cross: release date & pre-order announced, Rebel Minis Releases 28mm Dark Hold Bonewalker Wraiths Set, Squadron Strike 2nd Edition Coming Now, and Hadekine Demon release by Gary Hunt Miniatures and Zombiesmith.

Is the week racing along for everyone else or is it just me? Hard to believe that it's already Wednesday. Seems that we just started this week a couple days ago... Ok, so we did just start this week a couple days ago, but you know what I mean. What it does mean, though, is that we've got a midweek Snippets post for you.

In this batch of bite-sized stories we have: Kensei Coming Soon To Kickstarter, Awaken Tabletop RPG Passes Funding Goal on Kickstarter, Final days for Wolf & Hound on Kickstarter, Final Hours for Ninja Crusade 2nd Edition On Kickstarter, Final Hours for Spellbook Gaming Boxes on Kickstarter, Skirmisher Publishing Releases 100 Oddities for a Graveyard, Licensed Coins from The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit on Kickstarter, Fireforge Russian Infantry sculpting completed, Squadron Strike Ship Book 2 Back in "Print" as a PDF, The Ion Age: Rewards Programme upgraded and expanded, and Kromlech New Release - Legionary Chain Axes.

Hey everyone. Here's another batch of news snippets for you.
Remember, snippets aren't "leftovers" or "scraps" or anything like that. They're news like everything else. They're just... smaller. There's good stuff in here and we want you to know about it. It's just that the story's shorter, but no less important!

So what do we have in this round? Well, there's a new punk green from Slow Death Games, an announcement from ThunderChild Miniatures about a new Kickstarter, a new release from Hitech Miniatures, a new adventure for Fantasy8s, new Pulp Alley templates from Sally 4th, a notice about the final days of the Rise of the Kage pre-order, some new goblin nurses from Kromlech, a Squadron Strike: Traveller Preview, an announcement about the Death Saves Anthology release, and some new accessories for Robotech from Burn In Designs.

Ad Astra Games does a little switching on their website.

We are reprinting the paper map sheets for all of our boxed games - our new printer required the map sheets to shrink, which means that they will not be edge to edge compatible with the old ones. If you want to purchase old copies of the white map sheets, please email adastragames@gmail.com to make a purchase.

The next print run of the Squadron Strike cards will be in red-blue, along with a switch to red-blue tilt block sets and red-blue sets of acrylic flight bases. If you're interested in getting one of the last sets of red-green tilt blocks or red-green flight bases, contact adastragames@gmail.com to talk to Scott or Sam.

We are also restocking dice - all of the games will be getting four dice of three different colors after this restock. Some games will be getting a few dice shipped as loose dice in the box, not bagged as a set. Please look carefully for the loose items.

Ad Astra has a new setting for their Squadron Strike and Colonial Battlefleet systems: Star's Reach.

From the announcement:

Ad Astra Games proudly announces Star's Reach, a new setting for Squadron Strike and Colonial Battlefleet. The Star's Reach line includes ships statted out for both games, plenty of scenarios, extensive background to inspire your own games, and a new line of miniatures.

Star's Reach may be old school space opera—with a human task force stuck in a situation that's far more dangerous and convoluted than they'd originally thought it would be—but it's not simplistic or cliché-ridden. While the main setting book is told from the perspective of the Koreth Imperium's officers and politicians, the political situation is subtle, and nuanced.

We've gone out of our way to make the aliens in the setting more textured than Star Trek "humans with funny noses." The Koreth culture grows logically out of their biology, much the same way human culture grows out of the needs of small hunter gatherer tribes in an Ice Age. This results in an attempt to "Make me a creature that thinks as well as a man, but differently."

Ad Astra Games has fixed the registration problem on their website. But that's not all!

Ad Astra Games is now accepting pre-orders for their Birds of Prey miniatures. F 14 From their announcement:
We are pleased to announce the pre-order process for 1:350 scale miniatures for Birds of Prey. We will be taking pre-orders for these in waves of four jets at a time. The first four are:
  • F-14 Tomcat (two per pack)
  • F-5 Tiger II (four per pack)
  • F-86 Sabre (four per pack)
  • MiG-15 Fagot (four per pack)
Our miniatures are created through a rapid prototyping process where we consistently get details as fine as a 0.3 millimeters to show up on our spacecraft minis. The detail you see on the rendered images is the detail you should see on the finished miniatures. Some of these jets will likely be multi-part castings and take a bit of glue to assemble.
Ad Astra Games have posted a free playable preview of the Attack Vector: Tactical 2nd Edition rules. Rafik AVID From their announcement:
Download the free, playable preview (Zip link) of the second edition of Attack Vector: Tactical and discover the tactical richness of 3D space combat. The second edition makes play smoother with more play aid improvements. The rulebook has a new, easier-to-read layout and the rules have been extensively revised with feedback from both new players and old hands. We know, some of you say that it's not possible to have a 3D vector-movement game that's playable. It's not only playable, but it's fun--the new environment opens up opportunities that never seemed possible. See the Downloads page for more AV:T downloads which also has downloads for the rest of Ad Astra Games' products.
