Space Hulk Coming to PS3 in Europe and Australia

Now, you know we primarily deal with tabletop games here on TGN. But we also deal with video-games-turned-board-games and board-games-turned-video-games. The second one is the case here. Funbox Media will be bringing Games Workshop’s classic sci-fi board game Space Hulk to the PS3 later this month.

In a partnership with HR Games, Space Hulk will be able to be played on your television and PlayStation Via. The game will still be just like the board game, with turn-based strategy in the cramped quarters of a derelict space ship. The game will feature both single player and hotseat play.

Someday I really should upgrade my PS2.

I don’t think this will translate well to the big tv screen.
It’s a nice little time waster on PC, but let’s be honest, it isn’t a graphics show stopper. Indie games get away with not holding a candle to AAA games, but GW isn’t indie even in the broadest sense of the word…

Also, I love and cherish my PS2. Every now and then, I can still pick up awesome games from the bargain bin, things I never would have thought to buy at full price for 2-5 bucks?

Old systems are still good. I’m in the middle of a playthrough of DragonQuest 8 (great PS2 game).

I thought it was odd that Space Hulk is being released for PS3 and not the current PS4.

If the graphics and presentation are a little sub-par, the best release format for it would be as a download title. It would probably look perfectly fine next to PSN and Xbox Arcade titles.

    • I really should get out my FFXII and Burnout 2 and play on them again sometime soon. Love those games.

If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, check out Lost Odyssey and Last Story (former FF creator left Square-Enix and started up his own properties).

    PS3? What a weird choice.
