Skarr Bloodwrath Added To Warhammer Pre-Orders

Games Workshop added a new hero to their pre-order page for Warhammer. Well, anti-hero is probably more like it, unless you think that the slaughter of your enemies in the name of your insatiable god makes you a hero. It’s all about perspective, I guess. Anyway, I’m getting off track. You can order Skarr Bloodwrath now.

From the website:

Skarr Bloodwrath

A Daemonic Lord of Khorne, Skarr Bloodwrath has a reputation as a bloodthirsty butcher of the worst kind. He lives only for war, his fury is endless, his hunger for battle a constant clamour that drowns out all consideration of strategy or caution.

This 20-piece plastic kit makes one Skarr Bloodwrath clad in Chaos armour and armed with a pair of axes known as the bloodstorm blades. Skarr has the option of being assembled with either a bare head or a masked variant.

The model is supplied with a Citadel 40mm Square Base.

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

Yes buy more models that “might” not be playable in the next version…….

  • zemlod

Wow. It’s €23 or US$30. For one model. When did that happen?

    • Chad_Caughmann

It looks as though its larger than human sized (it looks to be on a pretty good sized base). I’m not saying it’s worth $30….but they’ve been charging $30+ for larger than human sized models for years now.

Did I already praise the way in which the Reaper Bones II sculpts are even better and crisper than the previous ones – at a fraction of the GW costs? The only thing that has me coming back and buying from GW regularly is the setting (which may or may not survive the ‘end times’)…

        • Odinsgrandson

          Well, Reaper is awesome.

They also do this strange thing where it seems like they’re actually *trying* to make their minis less expensive to buy.

So, the Fraction you’re talking about is probably around 1/10. Bones minis are an order of magnitude less expensive than GW minis.

Now, they’re probably the best ‘bang for your buck’ minis on the market (especially now that they’ve improved their plastic). They’re a far better deal than the market average.

I’m not quite sure which is more ridiculous; The chain-flails on the axes? Or, on the pattern of the Bloodthirster, another set of “Lord of the Dance” legs?

    • zemlod

I think you really have to make a choice there: either snip off the flails yourself or wait for them to break off during the first transport…

I can’t believe this shit still has fans.
