Savage Kingdoms fantasy RPG up on Kickstarter

Savage Kingdoms is a new swords-and-sorcery style fantasy RPG game that’s up on Kickstarter. They’ve made their goal already, so it’s stretch goals for 19 days.

Savage Kingdoms

From the campaign:

Savage Kingdoms was created by a passionate gamer with over 30 years of tabletop roleplaying experience starting – like many of us – with D&D in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Perhaps more interesting, the designer is a professional theater actor, acting instructor, and director, with nearly a hundred productions under his girdle of giant strength. This is worth mentioning because SK was designed with immersion and storytelling at its focus, intended with a scope for the cinematic, the theatrical, and moreover, the awesomely epic. The approach here is more story, character development, and campaign emphasis, than an exercise in gadgetry and “stuff hoarding”. Fantasy deserves more, and certainly swords-and-sorcery.

That looks like actual Frazetta art. Might wanna stop that. His widow’s lawyers tend to get a bit proactive about it.

Looks like a fun setting. Hope you can get that style of art to so it justice.

Thought so. I think Danzig was paying more for the rights to Frazetta “characters” than he was paying creators and printers for that stuff.

Again, awesome vibe for an RPG, but I’m sure there’s a reason we haven’t seen Frazetta art in one before… Franks wife used to hide the keys to the Frazetta museum from him so she would be involved in every penny that passed through the place. True story.
