Sovereign Games will be releasing Masterless, a new bluffing game based on Samurai.
From the announcement:
Independent board game design group Sovereign Games, LLC announced today the release of their third board game, Masterless. The two-player game puts players in the role of ronin, or masterless samurai, who fight to the death for the right to become the new master of their household.
“Mechanically, Masterless is a game of second-guessing your opponent” said game designer Drake Sherwood. “Each round, players simultaneously choose one technique gem. These choices result in one of fifteen different effects, depending on board position and which player won.”
Masterless is lighter fare than previous Sovereign Games releases like Crowns. “It’s a great game to play when you’re waiting for the rest of your group to show up, or while figuring out which long board game you want to play,” said Sherwood. The group estimates that a single game of Masterless will take 15 minutes, making it one of the fastest-playing board games on the market.
Masterless will be available for $19.99 from publisher The Game Crafter.
