Puppy Zombie Card Game Up On Kickstarter

Puppy Zombie is a new card game that’s up on Kickstarter and looking for some funding. The game is one of pure survival. Players draw cards from the top of the central deck, hoping to not get a zombie puppy. If they do, then they’re zombified and removed from the game. They can prevent this, though, if they have a defense card in hand. The last player left when everyone else has exploded… err… turned into a zombie, is the winner.
There’s both a “standard” deck and a “NSFW” version that you can get, if you and your friends have a more adult sense of humor.
The campaign is looking to raise $200k and is set to run for another 59 days.

From the campaign:

Puppy Zombie is a new card game designed for both kids and adults. An awesome party game, Puppy Zombie is crazy fun to play with your family and friends and gets more and more intense as the game progresses. The game is “kid friendly” with cards such as “Bowling for Zombies”, “Weapons of Messy Destruction” and even an “Irritable Bowel Dragon” that fires from both ends.

Additionally, there is a “Not-Safe-For-Work” (NSFW) extension card set that is so insane, we thought it best to give them a warning label for easy identification. Just ensure to lock the dorm room door or put the kids to bed and get ready for the gameplay to go to a new level. The “rules for survival” just changed! Try and focus on the security of your flanks because…they really are coming!

Gee, seems a lot like an Exploding Kittens rip off. Even the colors and concept of a NSFW deck. I’ll pass.

    • jeff fearnow

Exactly what you said. Pretty blatant by the look alone, not to mention the ‘ooh look we’re doing a NSFW deck tooooo!”

I wonder if the ‘designer’ is a familiar name?

  • Les Fulbrook

Yeah, the designer has clearly seen how much crazy money exploding kittens made and wants in. I’ll be happy with exploding kittens thanks

    • Odinsgrandson

It certainly isn’t making Exploding Kittens money. As of writing this, the campaign has raised $500 of their $200,000 goal.

      • jeff fearnow

which for once shows that the system works.

  • Strain42

Ignoring the whole “this is clearly a rip-off of Exploding Kittens” thing, NOTHING about this game justifies the $200,000 goal. This seems like such a simple card game, I’d say $10-15k MAX.

  • StingrayP226

Yes this is a complete copy of Exploding Kittens… not just the theme but game play as well seems the same.
