Lots of good ideas with this. I’ll be excited to see the final product.

I’m not a fan of having to buy the faction decks again, but I understand they need to offset development costs somehow. Other than that, this looks like it will be a brilliant little app.

They say they will update the decks as new models come out. Since the app also includes rules references, you technically could get by with never buying another rule book again!

True, but then you don’t get the pretty pictures or the fluff. I do love the fluff as I like seeing the Iron Kingdoms evolve. Well, evolve inside the strictures that no side really can ever take a lasting advantage and no warcaster/warlock can ever be truly killed off. That’s my only criticism of PP, (Doug Seacat,) is that no matter how much danger a caster gets in you know they’re making it out. A little more George R.R. Martin would be cool. Those characters would be relegated to historical figures of sorts, but it would really shake things up. Although I could see Thagrosh dying after a fashion and being totally subsumed inside Everblight if we ever get tier 3 casters.

I love the PP books for the same reasons. I’m still looking to buy Pirates of the Broken Coast and Prime: Redux. I just wish those RPG books weren’t so expensive on the secondary market!

For people that balk at the cost of buying every single book, though, this is a great offering. For the price of a single book expansion, you get all the faction book information plus new content for every faction in either WM or H. I guess you would still need the rulebook.

I have to say, I think this is an amazing idea, and I’m so surprised we haven’t seen it before (I haven’t anyway!). I really hope GW takes note and does something similar, this really is the way to approach things in the age we live in.

I plan to pick up the entire set of cards, just because I can’t say how many times I’ve wondered what an opponents character did, and I forgot to bring that book which had them in it, so I get to be SURPRISED when I forgot something and I get smashed! Now I can leisurely play with list building, having all the rules for my characters right in front of me. I’d love it if PP put in an ability to link to their store, and buy parts to the figures listed there. Since they don’t sell all of their line through their online store, they miss out on having a link straight to their full products. How many people have played a game and said “Ahhh! I need more (insert random unit/solo/jack/beast)!” after a game? How simple would it be to just click on a link in the card for the item you want and buy it right there.

Anyway, Kudos PP, another step in the right direction. My only question is (and I don’t remember if they’ve answered it or not), can you fill in the damage boxes on the jack/beasts/etc, in the app itself, or do you still need to put marker to card for that one?

    • Except your LGS wont be too happy with PP or yourself for doing so right in their in the store (unless you’re playing at home, of course).

      • skullking

well, that’s true, but aside from things like, the store not having what you need, playing at home or not at a store. What if a pretty girl is working the register? I mean, i can’t just walk up and talk to her.. ;P

    • Dewbakuk

Yes you can fill in damage boxes on your warjacks. You can also assign continous effects etc to the models in the app.

      • Veritas

That’s brilliant. How about focus and rage? Can you track those, too?

        • Dewbakuk

Haven’t seen anything specificaly with regards to Fury and Focus but I would expect so as that’s just as relevant as the other things.
