Privateer Press has had to push back the release of their War Room app to mid-May. Here’s the press release:

War Room Release Moved to Mid-May

April 25, 2012 – Seattle, WA. Privateer Press and TinkerHouse Games today announced that War Room, the first official utility app for the WARMACHINE and HORDES tabletop miniatures games, is now set for a mid-May release. The additional production time was allotted in response to the higher resolution capacity of the new iPad 3, which requires changes to the app to ensure full
compatibility.

In addition, the option to add reinforcements was added to the list of
army-building features to accommodate requests from the player community.

“We want War Room to be available to as many of our players as possible, so
we decided it was best to include compatibility with the new device at
launch,” said William Shick, Director of Business for Privateer Press. “We
also took the opportunity to add a popular list-building feature requested
by our players. At the end of the day, we want to ensure War Room meets our
highest standards for quality when it releases and is as polished as the
games it supports.”

Actually, that makes me kinda happyRegistered trademark symbol. My bank account can use the reprieve. I hope they wedge the tier lists into the update as well (wishful thinkingRegistered trademark symbol I know).

This article is compelling enough to make me want to change my name to Registered Trademark Symbol. Imagine the publicity.

Warmachine: I miss the pretty (Cryx) minis. I’m so glad that by quitting I got away from the rules.

Part of me is glad they pushed this back to get it right, part of me is worried it will never get released because they’ll keep trying to get it perfect. At some point, it’s not a bad idea to release a version 1.0 and make updates from there before the market starts to lose interest. (Fortunately us WarmaHordes players are a rabid bunch, which works in Privateer’s favor.)
