We have survived through another Monday. The work week’s nicely underway and we can start to focus on next weekend. For me, a friend’s got a Board Game Day going on at the library they work at. So I’ll be taking some stuff out there that I picked up at Gen Con and hopefully getting some games in with them. If not, I’m sure I’ll be playing something good.
As for today, we’ve got our various podcasts, as well as some video recaps from Gen Con.
Specifically, it’s: The Hub Systems Podcast Episode 24 – Firestorm Armada Tactica: Sorylians, Blue Peg, Pink Peg Episode 79- Junk Art and GenCon 2016, CONTEST!, Nerdherders Episode 95: Now With 50% Fewer Ingredients!, Epic Gaming Night Podcast Ep 66 Post Gencon News, The Polyhedron Collider Cast Episode 8, The Rolistes Episode 13 – The One About Me, Me, Me, Meee… (With Awesome Feats), News of the North – 2016-08-16, Through Gamer Goggles Gen Con Coverage.
This time we invite Fred Graves of the FFG to bring us his Sorylian knowledge and expertise and educate us on the ways of the reptile….
We also look into GWs new 2-player set, Death Masque, plus some basing kits for Age of Sigmar. FFG brings us the wave 10 announcements for X-Wing, and we have a first peek at the Dark Souls Kickstarter too.
During this weeks episode:
1) The Pegs discuss their experiences from and the games they saw at GenCon 2016; and;
2) All the Pegs review the family style dexterity game from Z-Man/Pretzel Games.
What’s this? Matt and Andy go missing, forcing Dave and Ian to forge on with a rambling show where they chat about everything from Warhammer 40,000 to Voltron to Overwatch, complete with pets running amok during the recording
This week Roy and Matt talk about all the news out of Gencon!
After a refreshing break in the wilds of Scotland the Polyhedron Collider crew get back together to discuss the board games they have been playing. We talk about Scythe yet again (well it is popular) and we take an in depth look at Fluxx, Multiuniversum, Vampire Hunters and Eldritch Horror.
We also give a shout out to the Brawling Brothers for supporting our show, and an argument about a brewery start some impromptu Sean Bean impressions.
I guess it was time to admit The Rolistes Podcast is mostly an ego trip (you probably had figured it out by now) and to finally stop interrupting my guests when they speak…
…by being the guest myself.
Welcome to the August 16th, 2016 edition of News of the North. Here’s our weekly selection of interesting news items in the miniature wargaming world.

The first chance I’ve had to chat with Legendary Games. Jason Nelson is the foundation of this publishing team. He works with a team of freelancers to make your game legendary. The motto is a statement that I think many of us will find to be our true goal in gaming. In this interview we discuss everything from breaking into the writing side of the game industry to the products Legendary Games publishes.
