Well, we’re over a week into 2018. How’s yours going so far? The start of the year is always busy for me. Just various beginning-of-the-year stuff to do. And for anyone in Georgia that’s curious, this year’s license plate stickers are silver. But while doing such things, I like to listen to some gaming podcasts to keep my mind occupied.
This week we’ve got: Epic Gaming Night Podcast Episode 138: Past, Present, & Future!; Epic Gaming Night Podcast Episode 139: Fallout Wasteland Warfare With Chris Birch; The Cardboard Herald Episode 61: Andy Zeller of ATK! Roy & Rob Interview Chris from Modiphius Entertainment on there new Fallout Wasteland Warfare!
I first met Andy and his partner Eric at PAX Unplugged, and we immediately hit it off. For the remainder of the con, the TCbH Strikeforce (Rob, Chris, and I) would regularly meet up with Andy and Eric to see how they were doing, showing off their board game ATK!. Well it’s up on Kickstarter now, so I thought it was a great opportunity to talk about games, music, creativity, and deep, deep voices. Here’s my talk with Andy of ATK! The Board Game.
It’s the first episode of the year and it’s a milestone episode at 150 and we’re doing the same old stuff again! Today we actually go back in time and look at a game from 8 years ago, Defenders of the Realm. Then we look back at Great Western Trail one year later. After Tony T gives you the news for the past couple weeks we hook you up with another Short Topic Extravaganza!
Out with the old and in with the new! With the holiday season behind them, Laurie and Simon check in to catch up on gaming news. They are joined by Nick Kay, a talented artist known for his work at Privateer Press and Bungie, to discuss his experience in both tabletop and videogame industries. Even our co-hosts can’t escape New Year’s resolutions! To wrap up, we answer some fantastic questions from the audience about what the new year has in store for wargaming! Will Simon conquer his hefty paint to-do list? Will Laurie paint her own stuff? Stay tuned throughout 2018 to find out! Bonus: cat noises in background.
In this episode Andrew and Jason talk to Stig from the STF Wargaming Studio about the previous year of Guild Ball, and what is coming up to look forward to.
