Plaid Hat Games Looking To Hire Graphic Designer

Are you good at dealing with digital media? Can you draw, paint, and manipulate images easily? Do you want a job in the gaming industry? Would you go to a bean-eating movie with George Wendt? If you answered “yes” to most of those questions, then Plaid Hat Games might just be looking for you.

They are in search of a new graphic designer to join their Addison, Texas team. If you think you have what it takes, go and send in an application. You could be creating artwork for some of the most popular games out there on the market right now like Dead of Winter and Mice & Mystics.

    Stuff like this frustrates me:

Entry level position, 4-5 years experience required.

Basically, they want experienced people and want to pay them like they have none.

That’s really the point that irks me also.
Of course it would be nice to jump into an opportunity with an up and coming games publisher. But not at the cost of half a year’s salary…
I get similar offers in another field from time to time, because I have a background in two different but co-relevant fields. At the moment, I work in one of them and try to keep in touch with current affairs in the other, albeit somewhat amateurishly. Whenever I get an offer that seeks to exploit my having knowledge in both of them, it’s either so low-balled it’s almost insulting, or it requires complete relocation, months of getting up to speed and advancement options that don’t seem all that interesting compared to what I’m offered right where I am now.
Seriously, if a company wants someone who actually benefits them and brings in the necessary qualifications, then pay them accordingly or be willing to accept shortcomings.
