Pangalactic Entertainment has made it over their first stretch goal for their sci-fi board game Planet Defiant: Onslaught of Vanas over on Kickstarter. With just over two weeks to go, here’s to hoping they can make it through lots more.

From the update:

Thanks to you all we have our first stretch goal achieved giving all Supernova and above tiers the 10 card Story Expansion! These will have a new story arc that we are super excited to start writing up and will total 30 more unique stories. Next on the list is the Kickstarter exclusive Alpha alien with miniature at $40k. We still have an awesome surprise for you all when we reach it!

Our artists have also been hard at work on the new battle board designs and we have a couple to show you all. They are not completely finished up as we need to put in certain cover locations and other mechanics. First we have the alien station which will feature a unique mechanic of fighting for precious equipment and items in the center. Next we have the lava fields which will feature unique mechanics with fire and cover elements . Check them out below and let us know what you think! We of course also still have two more coming along to show you soon.

They funded, so kids for that. I think this game has a lot of potential, and I like the style where you explore sectors and do battle on individual scenario boards. It just felt sort of blah for me in the combat video when it was just a one on one battle. That part seemed lackluster. I would like more small squad battles or at least a few heroes versus a few aliens for variety. I might look at this if it hits retail though.
