Baccus have posted details of some new releases as well as pictures of some upcoming Ancients and Napoleonic figures.

    hittspear.jpg

    From their website:

Time for some more new releases. Rather than a new range as such, these are some much sought after ‘fillers’.

First, I am relieved to announce that at long last, the Mahdist Riflemen are finally, finally available. Now will you all please, please, please stop the emails.

Secondly, all of you waiting for the High Command for your Risorgimento armies need wait no longer as we now have available both Austrian and Piedmontese general and staff figures.

The keen-eyed amongst you will spot that there are no photos of these yet. This is because the moulds are so fresh out of the can that I haven’t had chance to paint any of the castings yet. I’ll be adding these a little later. However we do have some photos of the forthcoming new Hittite range.

Knuckleduster have released the first two of their reworked 28mm western miniature sets.

    From their website:

The next two sets of re-sculpted figures are available for sale. The first set is a six-figure combination of the old “Cowboy I and II” sets, with all the figures reworked to one degree or another. I’m particularly proud of the new version of the LeMat pistol carried by one of the cow punchers.

The second set is a combination and re-interpretation of the old Ellsworth and Abilene sets. It’s called “Cowtown Chaos,” and features a complete re-sculpt of my favorite gunfighter, Wild Bill, and different versions of the gambler with pepperbox and big improvements made all around. The drunken Billy Thompson and old Sheriff Chauncey Whitney are almost entirely unchanged. These two figures recount an incident in which Sheriff Whitney died trying to disarm the cowboy who was roaming the streets drunk as a skunk, waving a loaded shotgun around. What made it particularly poignent was that the kindly sheriff was a close friend of Billy, who was too drunk to recognize him.

I’ve been working hard to get these finished, and photos will follow tomorrow.

One Monk Miniatures have added the new Sci-fi Adventure products range to their website.

    Cyborg-Slaughterers.jpg

    From their announcement:

The Sci-fi Adventure products have now been added to the products section of the site. The individual ranges are pretty thinly filled right now. I wanted to give myself plenty of room to expand with new sets. I have tons of sketches just waiting to be turned into finished sets for these ranges.

On a similar note, the home page has been decked out with more info, a couple news feeds, this blog being one of them, and a slight change to the layout. I think you’ll agree that the site is really starting to shape up. I still have a crap ton of work to add new graphics, and update the bases, free models, gallery, etc… lots of stuff.

FutureWars_lg.jpgBrigade Games now have printed copies of the Future Wars rules.

    From their website:
The world of “Future Wars” is one which will be familiar to most people, in broad outline at least, from science fiction films. It is not a pleasant one to live in. In the post-apocalyptic near future, the cities of earth have become battlegrounds for a variety of factions – including organised crime, local citizen militias, and well armed troopers employed by successful gangsters or powerful business interests (if there is in fact any difference between these last two). The wealthiest and most ruthless of these factions deploy some hideous hi-tech weaponry in pursuit of their goals, releasing killing machines like Terminator robots and Zombies (the latter perhaps the products of some mad scientific experiment) onto the streets. At the other end of the social scale, desperate outlaws hold out in the crumbling sewers. There are even rumours of things far worse than any of these. With the planet’s defences down, alien raiding parties of species previously only imagined in humanity’s worst nightmares – Hunters and Bugs – are being reported by those few who have survived their onslaughts. What happens next is limited only by your imagination….

The rulebook contains contains a point costing system so you can model your forces on any popular science fiction films.
44 Pages. Written by Chris Peers

This book is put out by Sinister Laboratories, a joint venture between Rattrap Productions LLC and Brigade Games and Hobby LLP.

Games Workshop have posted a new article looking at using the Tyranids in Planetstrike.

    From their website:

There are few armies more suited to Planetstrike than the Tyranids. The wandering tendrils of the Hive Fleets are drawn to life-sustaining planets, where biomass is most prevalent. The unfortunate souls who inhabit a planet targeted by the Tyranids must witness not only their inevitable doom but a textbook example of a Planetary invasion.

Mycetic Spores rain down from orbit, pregnant with warrior-beasts who disgorge into combat. Lurking creatures break from the shadows to disembowel soldiers and propagate a feeling of terror amongst the frayed minds of the defenders. Even the planet’s own vegetation will turn betrayer as the bio-ships hanging low in orbit saturate the atmosphere with genetic agents that force the native plant life into a growth spurt.

The MonsterInsider blog has a new article looking at some of the new units for the UberCorp International faction in the upcoming Series 5 expansion for Monsterpocalypse.

    From their website:

Though UCI has publicly labeled the gargantuan apes from the Congo a menace, their mecha-monster program would not exist if it weren’t for the nature-loving beasts. Even before the apes left their seclusion, the would-be mega corporation had begun gathering information about the secret society of primates.

Using stealth AI probes, UCI researchers collected DNA imaging data from the beasts. In the course of this research the scientists lost contact with one of the probes, which never made it back to UCI headquarters. There was no official investigation into the fate of the missing probe—no wonder, considering the amazing finds keeping the researchers occupied. One lab tech (speaking on terms of anonymity), however, believes it was destroyed by the very beast whose data it was sent to retrieve. That giant ape had caught the particular interest of UCI researchers early in their observations.

The Liberator weighs a full twenty pounds, nearly twice the weight of the standard hunting rifles issued to Widowmaker units. Capable of tearing through plate armor, Liberator rounds are as accurate as they are lethal in the hands of a Widowmaker marksman.
