The results of the October gaming and purchasing poll results are in. Most of the results are as you would expect but there are a few interesting results. Perhaps not surprisingly the top spot in both polls was Warmachine. Boardgames managed to jump into second place this month beating 40K and Warhammer Fantasy. Blood Bowl, the wildly unsupported game, from GW also managed a top ten placement.

October purchasing
The top ten results for the purchasing poll are:

  1. Warmachine
  2. Hordes
  3. Warhammer 40K
  4. Malifaux
  5. Warhammer Fantasy Battles
  6. Other – Boardgame
  7. Other – Tabletop game
  8. Infinity
  9. Flames of War
  10. Firestorm Armada

People are purchasing Firestorm Armada but the game only ranked at #17 in the gaming poll. Blood Bowl, despite its lack of support from GW still came in at #16 on the purchasing poll.

The Homebrew rules entry, added for this month, scored quite consistently coming in at 19 on the purchasing poll and 18 on the playing poll. Clearly there are a lot of people buying miniatures to play using their own rules.

Aside from Flames of War the most popular historical ruleset, for gaming, was Black Powder which came in at 19th position.

Oddly enough, AT-43 almost made it into the top ten for purchasing and playing seeming to indicate that there is a lot of life in the oft-ridiculed game from the now defunct Rackham Entertainment.
