Battle Foam helps keep your mini ships safe with their Wave 3 foam trays for the X-Wing Miniatures Game.
Who’s the jerk fielding Slaves 1-4?
I was wondering that myself!
…And more space for TIE fighters is rarely a waste.
Does battlefoam ever put any thought into these layouts? My first question would have been, “what is the maximum number of any single ship type that can be put into a 100pt list”? The answer to that question would inform the layout of the foam. People, in general, do not buy more of any single ship than can be fielded in play.
Who in the hell uses 7 TIE Advanced and 4 Slave 1’s?
This is a weird layout to say the least.
To be fair, guys, there’s only one tray shown, but they have several new ones available in their webshop. So it’s more than just this one tray.
Yes they do, and all of them have ridiculously uniformed layouts.
Do any of the others have slots for four Millennium Falcons? 😀
Sorry guys. They asked me to design these with the express purpose of messing with you. The good news though is that they vetoed my original idea of 5 Slave slots and a slot for a non-existent “mystery ship” that was shaped remarkably like the Serenity from Firefly with the promise that it would fit exciting future releases.
FFG has stated that the upcoming “Epic Tournament” rules will allow for MUCH bigger squads with far more than the standard 100 points. See the interview with Steve Horvath (FFG’s VP of Communication and Digital Business) from episode five of The Sabacc Table podcast.
Sure, most players will probably stick with the 100 point standard tournaments. But with the “huge ships” and epic tournament rules coming, there will be SOME people who would want this sort of layout.
On a side note, I’ve seen some families who play this game (father & son, multiple kids, etc.) who might want to double up on storage expenses. This would be a good fit for them.
