The Flames of War website has been updated with several new articles.

Firestorm Un-Boxed
Firestorm Market Garden will be on retailer’s shelves in a little over a week, but given that our stock just came in the door a few days ago we wanted to give everyone a chance to see what was inside. I grabbed Sean (one of our graphic artists) and a spare gaming table downstairs so that we could take a few photos as we pulled it apart.

325th Glider Infantry Regiment At Salerno
The old 325th Infantry Regiment from the First World War was reactivated early in 1942. It was initially intended as a motorised infantry battalion, but trained as the new 82nd Airborne Division’s glider infantry regiment instead. The glider-riders were conscripts unlike the glamorous paratroopers and despite sharing the danger of airborne operations, did not receive jump pay, a source of continuing bitterness.

Finnish Jääkärikomppania (Mid-War) Goes Under Review
The Jääkäri troops were initially Finnish volunteers served with the Germans, training as Jägers (elite light infantry), during World War I as the Royal Prussian 27th Jäger Battalion. They fought on the northern flank of the eastern front from 1916. The Finns were secretly recruited from university students and the upper middle class, though other member of Finnish society were also recruited.
