We’ve got a little bit of everything from Forge World today. For those that are Lord of the Rings fans, there’s a new Hill Dwarf Unit and Command. Those that love their Imperial Knights have some new heads to choose from, as well as some waterslide transfers. Finally, if you’re wanting a reprinting of the original Rogue Trader rules, they have a contest going where you could win one.

From the contest announcement:

The classic, first-edition rulebook, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader was available to buy at the New Year’s Open Day at Warhammer World. This freshly re-printed edition of the original Warhammer 40,000 rules is a must-have for any collector, and is only available at Warhammer World… but we’ve got 5 copies to give away!

Place an order of £100 or more by 31st January and you’ll be entered into our prize draw to win one of 5 copies of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

Can they throw a 3 hole punch or instructions on rebinding when the book falls apart?

    • Andrew Franke

Doubtful, My original never fell apart. I got one of the VERY first editions in the United States(The Baltimore Games Workshop Manager was a neighbor) though and those seemed to be stitched. Mine was at least.
My Copy of the first Expansion Chapter Approved didn’t even make it a full day.

My track record with their early books has been mixed. I’d say 1:6 good to looseleaf ratio. There’s nothing like explaining to your parents why an expensive book is falling to pieces a short time after buying it to give your hobby choice a black eye.

I’d love to know why they decided to only have it (the RT reprint) available at Warhammer World. It seems like that thing would sell out in a matter of minutes if they made it available in gaming stores and online, based on the insane prices that the original goes for even in completely wrecked condition.

Well once people got over the novelty of it the sales would dry up. RT was not a great game without amendment. However with a few house rules(Appeared in WD) in my mind still the best of all the versions.

Hmmph, I’ve thrown two of those away in the last year and a half.
