From the release:

LaserCutCard has just released the second vehicle in their Bush War series. This is the Casspir, a landmine-protected infantry mobility vehicle that has been in use in South Africa for over 30 years.

This is a cardboard, MDF and plastic kit that is approximately 1/50 scale and is intended for use in any 28mm skirmish system.

In the new year an interior details upgrade kit will be made available as an optional add-on.

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.
  • It might be an interesting vehicle but when I see it all I can think of are video and photos of these being used to attack protestors in places like Soweto.

Look at it from another angle.. That sets up some great scenarios. While I don’t know about the situations you’re describing, I can imagine a scenario where a corrupt police force or warlord is using these and some Airborne Rangers or similar are sent to interdict and restore peace. It’s the same as the OBL/Al Qaeda type models.. they have terrible background but provide for some modern historical situations.

Hi Zac. We originally started this as a vehicle based on the Casspir to be used in games of Dredd and possibly as an adeptus arbites or sororitas vehicle.

When you are looking for vehicles for totalitarian regimes with scant regard for human rights, you don’t have far to look around here. Then we decided that since a lot of people will recognise this vehicle from the transformers movie, we might as well make it accurate.

Here is an earlier version (different proportions) that I painted up in SAP colours to try a weathering technique. Salt Weathering on a Casspir

You could always paint it white, put the letters UN on it and feel all good about it.
