On just about every Blood Bowl team, you’ll have “the big guy.” You know, that one player who literally towers above the rest, daring the opponent’s players to try and tackle them. For many, that “big guy” comes in the form of a Troll, and Games Workshop has started taking orders for a new one over on their website. They’ve also got a pack of Special Play cards, plus a bunch of hobby tools with which you can put your team together.

From the releases:

Do you want to add a fearsome and slightly absurd Troll to your Orcish Blood Bowl team? Or maybe a Goblin team? You’ve come to the right place. This excellent multi-part plastic kit contains the parts you need to assemble a rather large Troll (look at him – he’s wearing a human’s helmet as a knee pad, for Nuffle’s sake), winding up to fling a Goblin into the end zone.

A ton of weird, wonderful and bizarre events can and will happen on and off the pitch during games of Blood Bowl. The best way to represent these happenings is with Special Play cards, and this set of 26 Team Titans cards, usable by any and all teams adds a whole load of extra anarchy.

They’re split into two decks – the Benefits of Training and the Dirty Tricks decks – each featuring a wide variety of extra rules that make your games of Blood Bowl that little bit more unpredictable. You don’t have to use them, but you’re missing out if not!

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

I don’t know what that roll is doing….

Um, he’s throwing a goblin that has a ball attached to him?

      • ZeeLobby

yeah, and what, whispering secrets to his neighbor with his other hand while German stomping forward?

        • odinsgrandson

Clearly. Trolls got something to say, but he doesn’t want everyone to hear.

Haha, maybe other angles will make it look better, but it’s just extremely awkward. It’s like they couldn’t decide what they wanted him to be doing, while simultaneously wanting every one of his limbs to be in motion at once. A rare miss for what have mostly been great BB addon characters.

Yeah- I had a look at the 360s, and there are better angles.

But mostly the thing they did with his hand prevents there from being a really great angle. You know- there’s a good angle for this or that, but not any one great angle

On the bright side, it looks like it wouldn’t be very hard to convert him just a little and end up with a pretty workable pose.

Odd thing I noticed here- the official paintjob here has a clear direction for the light to be coming from. Combine this with the lovely NMM job on Slambo, and we have a new era for the ‘Eavy Metal painters.

I’ve always known the team was capable of better things than they’ve been turning out- it is good to start seeing them.
