New Artillery Pieces Available for Bolt Action From Warlord Games
Warlord Games takes you to both theaters of the war in this set of releases, but the subject matter (beyond just “World War II”) is much the same. Artillery is the name of the game today. We’ve got a mortar carrier truck used by the Americans in Europe and a couple field pieces used by the Japanese in the Pacific.
First up is the M21 Mortar Carrier Halftrack. Used by the US in Europe, the original intent was for the crew to take the mortar tube off of the truck and fire it. However, oftentimes the crew would just sight the mortar from the back and fire while still on-board. It certainly cut down set-up time.
On the other side of the world, we have the Japanese 105mm Howitzer and 47mm Anti-Tank Guns. The Japanese made thousands of the 105 Howitzer and would often dig them into permanent positions around defensive areas. As for the 47mm Anti-Tank Gun, it was the first of its kind made specifically by the Japanese. It saw early action versus Russian tanks and later against American forces.
