Whoa there, baby steps mongoose. How about showing you can support a game past dinnertime before you talk about anything special?

  • newsguy

    Amen to that.

With the usual length of time Mongoose supports their miniature ranges, will these limited edition figures be available for more than 25 minutes before being dropped?

  • tredhed

I thought Mongoose miniatures WERE limited edition. 😉

    (I kid…I kid)

    • Bostich

Awww… you beat me to it.

    • Myrthe

      My thoughts exactly, tredhed !!

I strongly dislike limited editions that aren’t also permanently available in some form, for the reasons mentioned in the article – the limited models simply end up being bought in bulk by touts then flogged on eBay for £50/pop.

Most of the limited stuff GW has released recently has sold out in pre-order online and then everyone goes and pays 3x the amount for it on eBay off some shady reseller who bought 100+ of the stock.

    • Agreed. Don’t see much value for the consumer in limited edition figs.

  • After much discussion Impact! stopped making limited edition figures effective January 1, 2011. We just found the the customers as a whole did not like them for similar reasons to what scarletsquig mentioned.

We still have limited edition figures in our store but only the ones we had already produced in 2010 or before that haven’t sold out yet.

So based on our experience … yeah … I’d say stay away from limited edition releases.
