Monday Terrain Corner
Well, it’s Monday and we’re back in the office. Though it’s highly likely this is the last Monday here in this office. We’ll be changing locations soon. No, there shouldn’t be a big gap in posts. Worse comes to worse, with my laptop, I can update from anywhere with wifi. But yeah, we’ve been here for 4 years. It’ll be interesting to be in a new building. But that’s as may be. As for now, we’ve gotta make sure your gaming tables look great.
Today in the Terrain Corner we have: New Deathworld Forest Terrain From Games Workshop, Heroic Maps Foxtail Hills: Ambush Road Now Available, Cobblestone City: Pwork Wargames Gaming Mat Now Available, and Eiffel Extravaganza – Steampunk Paris 1896 Terrain Up On Kickstarter.
This 84-component multi-part plastic kit contains the parts needed to build a Deathworld Forest, complete with rules for each component. The shardwrack spines, barbed venomgorse, eldritch ruins and grapple weed can be modelled in any way you like – create your own unique forest with multiple kits!
Riding along the trail that winds through the Foxtail Hills, you start to relax and enjoy the journey. The road then bends, and passes between two steep escarpments, where the trees and thickets grow close. Unknown to you, this is the favourite ambush site of a group of goblins, and you’re about to be the next victim!
A printable battlemap compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl game. Use as a standalone gameboard, or combine with any same-scale tileset.
Contents: A 20 x 30 map depiciting a road through the wilderness that serves as an excellent location for an ambush. The track is paved with old stones, and the plants alongside the road are beginning to encroach. The road is flanked by two steep cliffs, and dried blood on the ground hints at earlier incidents. It’s an ideal location for any encounter where travellers and wagons are ambushed by bandits.
The Gaming Mat Cobblestone City is a PVC or CLOTH made rollable terrain mat, ideal for wargames, in size 4×6’ (122x183cm), 4×4’ (122x122cm), 3×3’ (92x92cm), 3×6′ (92x183cm), representing the scenery of a grim city district left to itself, whose cobblestone pavement is littered with broken wood planks and weeds.
The Gaming Mat Cobblestone City offers the possibility of setting battles between armies of miniatures among the remains of wooden crates and barrels, on pebbles made slippery from wet and dirt. The mat is a perfect fantasy setting for urban-skirmish game play, and also ideal for historical cityfights! Are you ready to battle?
You can choose Cobblestone City printed on high quality PVC or on synthetic Cloth, its awesome graphic grants a wonderful and great-looking setting for your favourite wargames.
We are in 1896, in a steam-powered Paris.
Amelie Eiffel inherits the building company from her famous uncle and turns it in the first worlds multi-service company. A constant research into new technologies and automation has brought down goods prices, quickly giving Eifel corporation a monopoly in many areas.
Huge numbers of workers are replaced by machines, and outside the Eiffel company, jobs are hard to find. It is a time of social unrest, and some begin plotting sabotage.
Besides the restless poor, a secret conspiracy made up of several European governments attempts to fill the widening technology gap between Eiffel Industries and the rest of Europe. They are ready to use any means necessary to free their countries from Eiffel Industries control.
The campaign starts with a collection of fine lasercut scenery sets for tabletop miniature games. Sets are in 30 mm scale so they suit perfectly with the major skirmish and wargames in stores now like Malifaux, Mordheim, Deadzone, Warmachine, Wild West Exodus, Guild Ball, Infinity, Confrontation and again: In Wolsung, Twisted, Empire of the Dead and so on.
With your support, Eiffel Extravaganza will become a campaign pack with dedicated miniatures, background and missions. Scenery and Models will have general statistics such as movement, switches, and particular events etc. which can be adapted to the ruleset of your preference. In future, it could even evolve into board-games, card games and other lasercut scenery sets!
