The days have circled around again and we find ourselves deposited in a Monday. I hope you had a good weekend. I spent Saturday playing Small World and Ascension with some friends. Then on Sunday I assembled a bunch of another friend’s Guild Ball models, because I enjoy assembling figures and he’s been super-busy lately.
But that’s as may be. It’s time to make sure your gaming tables look as good as possible.
Today in our Terrain Corner we have: Battlefield in a Box: Automobile Garages (BB211), Exotic Locations Pulp Terrain up On Indiegogo, Manorhouse Workshop Update #7 – Hard Plastic -Forgotten Halls: Stairs & Upper Floors, Early Bird Sale from Miniature Building Authority Happening Now, Heroic Maps – Discover: Valley of the Ancients Now Available, Great Again Gaming Mat Available From Warzone40k, Deep-Cut Studio launches 9 new game mats for Fantasy Football, Manorhouse Workshop Update #8 – Hard Plastic – Forgotten Halls – A scale, and Warland: Pwork Wargames Fantasy Gaming Mat Now Available.
The Battlefield in a Box range of tabletop-ready scenery is a quick and easy way to create a wargaming table straight out of the box. The Automobile Garages are a great addition to any modern battlefield. They can stand alone, or accompany a Petrol Station, a Factory or Mechanics Workshop. And for those who have collected Battlefield in a Box houses for World War Two tables, garages are a great way of making them look more modern – as automobiles became more popular, adding garages to homes became much more common.
Terra-Block:Exotic Locations is a set of 28mm tabletop wargames terrain that I have been developing for the last 6 months. The concept is inspired by the movie industry, so we have ‘Locations’, these are the buildings. The Locations are Rick’s Cafe, The Museum of Antiquities, The Ancient Souk and Riad El Hasam. Rick’s Cafe is the ‘core location’, you need the pieces from this to complete the other locations, so for example The Museum of Antiquities contains the pieces that you need to add to Rick’s Cafe to transform it into the Museum.
For each location we have developed ‘Set Dressings’. These kits provide the pieces to furnish the Sets, so for example the Set Dressings for Rick’s Cafe includes the tables and chairs, heart shaped bar etc. and the Set Dressings for the Ancient Souk contains the market stalls, packing cases, hand cart etc.
The reason that we have launched ‘Exotic Locations’ as an Indigogo campaign is because we want to expand our terrain to include ‘Set Props’, the small ‘bits and pieces’ that bring the set to life such as piles of spices and dates for the market stalls and table lamps for the cafe. We have commissioned a sculptor to sculpt our initial props, so more about these when we have some production casts to share.
The campaign went live on Indigogo yesterday (10th November) and will be running for 28 days (until 8th December). Backers can enjoy a 10% discount compared to RRP and a number of Indigogo exclusive extras. We plan to ship during February 2017. Once we have fulfilled all pledges to our backers the range will be available at retail.

Now it’s time to get more into details about our innovative F.H. Stairs.
The main question is “Why should you have to choose between a Gaming Stairs version and a more Realistic Stairs version ?”
At Manorhouse Workshop, we give you the possibility to have both in 1 Stairs product.
Our Stairs can switch from one version to the other, just by turning upside-down the steps.
In other words, from our Realistic Stairs version, if you just turn the steps of the Stairs upside down, a slit of 5mm high will appear between the steps, allowing you to insert with ease most miniature bases inside, which will then stick there without moving, creating thus the Gaming Stairs version of our Stairs.
If you want to go back to the Realistic version, just rotate the steps back again!
Manorhouse Workshop always aims at creating the best looking version for all its products, even on more Gaming versions.
We are quite sure that if we didn’t write about it, you wouldn’t have recognized that the one of the Stairs was built on a Gaming version.
With this innovative “2 in 1” solution, created by MHW, we are positive to satisfy the needs of both Gamers and Diorama perfectionists.
