Modiphius Releases LUGU Storytelling Card Game
Modiphius has teamed up with Ben Miles to bring you Miles’ card game, LUGU, to your tabletop. LUGU is a storytelling card game that uses 6 decks of 22 cards that have various abstract artwork on them. Players take turns taking 4 cards at random from their deck and, based on the artwork, coming up with a story. The other players must then set out cards from their own deck that they think the author used in telling their story. The story continues on with each new player, and as such, over the course of the game, an epic tale is woven.
The game was originally self-published by Ben, but now with Modiphius’ help, it will be available in a much wider distribution ring. Ben’s very happy with how the game turned out and how it can be used as a way to get non-gamers into the hobby. Ben recounts, “One time, I was playing LUGU with a group of non-gamers. One particular person was not very keen on games and also felt that they were not very creative. They were slightly shy and didn’t have the confidence to join in with the game, so they decided to sit out and watch. During the first round of the story, I could see this person’s eyes light up and asked if they wanted to join in with the rest of the game. They did, and the characters, events and adventures that came out of this player’s mind were some of the most ingenious and hilarious I have ever heard!”
The game is now available in the Modiphius webshop.
